Gee, I just had the same error and the help page noted in the response is no longer available. The link that QB provides in the error message is also non functional as it leads to a blank page. What the heck??
Hello there, alweigand.
We recently updated and archived some articles, and that's the reason why you can't open the link. I've got the updated link where you can see the solutions on how to fix this error.
Before you begin, please make sure to update your QuickBooks to the latest release. Then, for the first solution you can use the QuickBooks File Doctor. This helps resolved damage QuickBooks components.
You can also check this article for the other solutions: Error -6000.
Please let me know if you need more help with QuickBooks. Thanks.
I am getting this error code when I try to open a version 14 file in version 17 (Desktop Enterprise Solutions 17.0). Is there a specific conversion process I need to follow?
Hello, jholding33.
The initial step you can follow is to rename the.ND and.TLG files. These are the files responsible to allow QuickBooks on accessing a company file. When these files are damaged, you’ll get the error code 6000-832 when opening the file.
Try to run QuickBooks again and open the company file. If you continue to have the error code, I’d recommend following the solution 2 and rest of the succeeding solutions in this article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Getting-Started/Resolve-Error-6000-when-opening-a-company-fi....

just wondering how i am supposed to update my quick books if i can't open it - did you read the question??
Thank you. That worked.
I cannot find a fix for this
How can I correct this error code?
Hello, @73070.
As mentioned above, this error happens when hosting is turned on or the .ND file is not working properly. We have multiple solutions to fix the error. To start with, rename the .ND and .TLG files. If they're corrupted or damaged, you will receive this error when opening your file. Renaming them will not cause you to lose QuickBooks data. These files are automatically re-created when you rescan using the QuickBooks Database Server Manager and when you open your company file.
Here are the detailed steps:
If the error continues, I recommend following the next solutions laid out from these articles as your references:
In case you need further assistance with the process, you can always reach out with our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. This way, a representative can walk you through on each solution provided.
Post again if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help. Have a good day!
The link to the article does not work it loops back - we are locked out and need an answer!

How can it be a file issue when the software won't even open? It's not even getting that far.
I was having the same open and immediately crash issue. Support chat was zero help outside of wanting to upsell support time. This is for a version that is less than a year old. Ridiculous.
I ran Hub Tool, File Doctor and even tried repair. Nothing worked. I uninstalled and reinstalled and opened one company file just fine. Went to open a second one and it immediately crashed again. Now it won't open the original one either. I can't believe a program that's this old still has this many issues.
Not sure how you propose we update our QBs when we can't even get it to open without immediately crashing.
Renaming the two files does not fix it. I still cannot open the software. It immediately crashes after the logo shows. Support is not willing to help without paying additional, which is crazy with software that is less than a year old. I don't understand how a 20+ year old product can still have this basic of an issue as to not even open correctly. Very frustrating as it's wasted hours and hours the last two days. I cannot do my job because I cannot get into our accounting software. Even uninstalling and reinstalling only got me in once. I cannot do that every time I need to check or update financials. Support is lacking, to say it nicely.
I entered through the error and connected to database on next screen for ver 22.
