I need to reinstall QB Pro Desktop 2012 and no longer have the disk. Due to other program compatibilities, I cannot upgrade to a later version. Where can I get a link or a disc of the 2012 version?

I'm also looking for the Quickbooks 2008 Premier version. We have an old Quickbooks database that needs to be restored. Please let me know if there is a installation available which we can run as trial version.

We urgently need a copy of QuickBooks 2008 Premier for DB restore purpose. 

Is there a way i could retrieve a installation package? Which we can run as a trial version?

As mentioned by Mark_R above, the oldest version that we can install is 2012. To get your work done, you may upgrade QuickBooks to the latest release. This way, you'll be able to move and restore your file.

In doing this, you'll have to restore the 2008 file in 2012 > 2016 and then 2020. First off, you can download a trial version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2012, then restore the file, then create a backup file.

Then, install a trial version of QBDT Pro 2016 and restore the backup file, then create a new backup. 

Once done, you can now restore the new backup file to your QBDT Pro 2020.

Also, please know that it's important that your computer is compatible with QuickBooks to utilize the program smoothly.

On the other hand, you may check out a third-party application that supports the installation of the QuickBooks Desktop 2008 version.

If you wish only to restore data for a limited time, consider to utilize the trial license of QBD 2011 instead. Check our profile name and send your business email address in private message to us. 

Could you point me to the link to get a free trial of QBDT 2012 (Canada) so I can start my upgrade process from my old QBDT2009 to the newly purchased QBDT2021.

Just to clarify. Your post appeared in US community, not CA community. Do you wish upgrading your file on QBD 2009 CA version to QBD 2012 CA version, then upgrade it to QBD 2021 CA version?

We purchased Desktop Pro 2021 but are currently using Desktop Pro 2008. My backup and restore isn't working. What are my options? I ready I could restore to 2012 version then to 2016 then to 2021 but that seems like a lot of trouble and I have not been able to locate the 2012 and 2016 versions for this purpose.

Hi there @Volunteer50 and @junecochran. I know you're going to love the latest version of QuickBooks Desktop. Versions of QuickBooks Desktop before 2016 are no longer supported, so I can't point you in the direction of a free trial of QuickBooks Desktop 2012 for Canada. You'll need to get in touch with our Data Services Team so that they can assist you with switching from QBDT 2008/2009 to QBDT 2021. You may have 2 options:

1. Install the trial license of QBD 2011, 2015 and 2019 to convert your old file prior to opening it on QBD 2021. Contact us in private should you need those trial codes.

2. Purchase a 3rd party upgrade service.

I am also in need of the 2008 Pro version!  I have tried several versions of the software but I am unable to restore the back up copy I have of 2008.  I tried 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019!  I have also tried File Doctor to repair the file but it tells me my password is incorrect but I know it is not.  Any suggestions?

Once I get the file restored, I plan to bring up to a current version but without a successful restoration on any version of QBDT, I am at a loss.

You'll want to get QuickBooks Pro 2008 version, Fiat Lux - ASIA may help you get the installer file for it by sending a private message. You can click the screen name. Then click the Send a message button on its profile.

Also, you can search on the internet to check if there's an available installer or copy of it.

I have tried doing as suggested but I started with 2010, then 2013 then 2016 and finally 2019.  I own all of these licenses so I thought I would go there first.  I was able to install all of the software on my Windows 10 platform but when it comes to restoring the file, I am unable in ANY version.  It allows me to open the file but then I have to update it to the latest version so I hit YES and it runs for a long time and finally stops and I get the message that my file was NOT restored.

I have also tried File Doctor but it tells me the password is incorrect.  There is only 1 password for the file and of course I tried a few times to be sure I was entering it correctly.

Just to clarify, do you need to migrate your data file from QBD 2008 to QBD 2021, or else?

The installer for version 2008 is no longer available on QuickBooks Desktop. Please know that QuickBooks has a three-year life cycle.

If you need to upgrade to a newer version, you may call our support team. This way, they can get started to communicate with the Data Services to upgrade your company file. 

Here's how: 

1. Open QuickBooks.
2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
3. Select Contact Us.
4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Let's talk, and then choose a way to connect. Phone support may be limited due to volume.

Intuit has removed the download link of it and our copy is corrupted. Ask your client upgrading to QBD 2021 instead.
