When will the 2022 1099-NEC and MISC forms be ready? When I open the 1099 module it is still showing the due date to file as January 31, 2022 not January 31, 2023 .... so I'm assuming if I were to prepare the form that it would be the 2021 form not the 2022 form

Why is 1099 form (2022) not printing 2022 in calander year box located above Box #1.
This is unusual, NZ60. I'm here to help you resolve this.
Sometimes your web browser can cause your printer not to print your 1099 forms correctly. Intuit recommends using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. If printing still doesn't work, try these steps.
Chrome:
If it still doesn't align, on the print window, select More Settings to verify Fit to printable area or Fit to paper isn't selected in the Scale drop-down menu.
Firefox:
In case none of these fixes the problem, let's access your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. This is a good place to determine if this is a browser-related issue. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
Once signed in, print the form again. If all the details are printed, let's clear the browser's cache to ensure the program performs efficiently. Otherwise, you can use other supported browsers. They also provide the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks.
Additionally, I've added these articles that'll help you learn more about creating and filing 1099 forms in QuickBooks Online:

I have the same issue. It should print 22 in this space 20__. Instead it is printing the entire 2022 which is not correct. This is a QB issue and an update should be made to correct this.
Thank you
Thank you for joining the thread, GJ615.
I'd like to share information about the printed year on the 1099 forms.
The text on the red form stock is printed in black ink. The IRS has confirmed that forms with the date formats of 22, 2022, or 202022 will still be accepted since the 1099 processing systems cannot read the red text. Because of this, there will no longer be an update to change the date on 1099s. Just to add, this applies to both QB Desktop and QBO products, and you have a choice of printing 1099s using Intuit stock or using a third party.
For those who are using QB Mac, only the last two digits of the year will be printed on the form, not the full year.
We're just a comment away if you need more help with printing 1099 forms. Take care and have a good one!
So are you saying that having the whole 2022 printed on the form is an IRS approved format ?
Hello Jess,
I contacted the IRS tax form department and they could not confirm that accepting 202022 on the forms are correct. They stated that the forms should only have the 22 printed on them.
Here is the number that I contacted them by [Removed].
Thanks for letting us know, MichaelB60.
For tax year 2022, a new field labeled "For calendar year" was added to the 1099 form. Only the last two digits of the year must be printed in this field, however QuickBooks is currently publishing the entire four-digit year. This is working as designed.
My colleague is correct. The IRS still accepted the dates formats of 22, 2022, or 202022. Even though the date appears to be a six-digit number, all red writing is invisible to the IRS scanning scanners that process these forms, so it will only see the 2022 printed.
As an alternative, you'll have the option to manually fill out the forms if you don't like the way it looks.
I've added this link for the Publication 1179 in page 11 which mentions the requirement for substitute IRS forms to use Red "dropout" ink for more information: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p1179.pdf.

This is really not an acceptable response to the problem but it seems it’s all we’re getting. How difficult would it have been for QB to have done this correctly in the first place?!? It does also seems like it could be corrected in an update. Part of what your customers pay for are correct forms that we feel comfortable submitting to the government.
And your response “that we could fill the forms out manually if we don’t like the way they look” is disrespectful. Besides that’s not a reasonable option and we have already paid for QB to do it.
Have you received a resolution to your question yet? I'm having the same issue. thanks

What do I need to know:
Many of our previous 1099 customers used the IOP standalone product, which has been sunset. Going forward, those customers who want to use our 1099 service but do not have payroll or QBO will need to create a Contractor Payments account to file.
Any customers who previously used the standalone account will no longer have access to their older 1099's. If they need copies, please use the article below on how to find and send those copies to the customer.
Agent Information
What resources are available:
The KB Print your 1099 forms has information in the expert only section that has a walk through on how to access older 1099 forms.
To setup a new Contractor Payments account, direct your customer to Contractor Payments.
For more information on how to setup a 1099 account, please refer to Create and file 1099's with QuickBooks Contractor Payments.
All impacted customers will be receiving an email letting them know about this change.
I called in on Monday about the 1099's Misc and NEC printing out the entire year and the IRS form only allows for a 2 digit year as they have preprinted the year like 20___. I was told that I ordered the forms too soon at first. I told the person on the phone at Intuit that NO I ordered exactly what is on the IRS website. I was then told that I didn't order Intuit's forms and if I did it would work. So due to time constraints, I ended up ordering Intuits 1099 forms at 3x the costs and an extra $43.00 in shipping and guess what, YOUR KITS DOESN'T HAVE A STATE COPY!!!!! I called again today and spoke with 3 different people whom not one of could help me! I was told that this is a big issue and they are working on it but no timeline as to a fix. I asked them to send me some state copies of the 1099's that I ordered and was told that the kits didn't come with a state copy! I was also told to call an accountant! I am an accountant! I was then told to call another number and they sent me to Canada Intuit! I was also told to use my original forms??? I've lost 5 billable hours this week, mostly messing with support people from Intuit who didn't know what I was talking about and/or making it look like it was my fault. I WASTED several hundred dollars on forms that I was told is the only way it would work from Intuit and they don't even include a state copy and still no solution...week one and WHERE IS INTUIT'S TROUBLESHOOTING/TESTING TEAM? You say your forms are in compliance with IRS and the States and THEY ARE NOT!

I appreciate your time for posting your 1099 forms concerns in the Community, @kpbt.
I understand the urgency to access these forms for this season. I see your case ticket when you contacted our Customer Support team. The agent you spoke with documented your concern and regret that the conversation got disconnected.
I'd recommend checking on your email and respond to it, as the agent handled you that time sent you one so she can further help you.
Please let us know if you have additional concerns that we can be of help. Take care!
Since you took the time to look up my ticket, tell me which one and what was the solution? I spoke with 6 different Intuit techs since Monday and not one of them had a solution. I’d recommend before you tell me to read my email which is rude and trying to make light of a serious situation, that you get the facts, all of them before you make these kind of statements. I was lied to and wasted a lot of time and money and still don’t have a solution, do you? This has nothing to do with getting disconnected.
Hello, I have been using quikcbooks desktop for a long time, every year I print my 1099.s no problem. Now when I try to get a 1099 report to print my 1099's nothing shows...Can somebody help me please. I am supposed to use the new 1099-NEC now
You will need to go to Print/Efile 1099 for NEC and continue to the Map Vendor Payment Accounts. They all defaulted back to "Omit payment from 1099" Remap your accounts. Be sure to Save and Close Then you should be able to proceed as you normally do.
Also when you look at your 1099 Summary report make sure the last box on the 1099 Option line is toggled to NEC - it always defaults to MISC
Hope this helps
I'll help you print the 1099 report, leather.
ljkentucky is correct. The vendors aren't showing up on the report since they haven't mapped as 1099 NEC or 1099 MISC. You'll need to remap your account to view and print the 1099 Summary or Detail report 1099 NEC through the 1099 wizard.
Before you proceed, please ensure that you have the most recent tax table and that your QuickBooks software is up to date. Then, you can follow the steps below.
Here's how:
Check out this article for your reference: Create and file 1099's.

I'm just around to back you up if you need further assistance with 1099 reports. Have a great day.
I was a customer/ small business owner who filed 1099 with the IRS through the IOP service. I was notified today that IOP was sunsetted, is no longer available to the public, there was no notice sent to the customers, no one at IOP will email you, your past forms, and if you had current work pending, it has all been lost. 1099 through INTUIT has been discontinued and all forms are gone. I put in 50 hours of work and it didn't matter, because Intuit has deactivate the whole service.
I came up with a work-around, although it's not ideal (thankfully I only have about 75 1099's to print (total) for about 15 different clients). I printed them to a .pdf. I have an Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription. So I opened the .pdf in my Adobe Pro, highlighted and removed the "20" part of the tax year, then saved the file as a Microsoft Word file so I could adjust margins in order to print it correctly on the forms. Again, not ideal, but it worked and once I got the margins adjusted correctly in MS Word to print correctly, I just saved that file and will re-use that file over for each client. Once it's all formatted, I figure this takes me about an extra 10 minutes per client that I'm working for. Hope this helps someone.
I am having the same problem. Quickbooks is printing 2022. Is there an update for it to only print 22?
Hi there, DorothyC.

I and what I see many others contacted the IRS and they said the year needs to be 2 digits. They will NOT guarantee these forms will be accepted if we just print over the top of this field's preprinted 20__. Your forms are 3x higher and also DO NOT COME WITH A STATE COPY. What is the solution?
