Emailing Invoices stopped working and now gives the error message shown in the file attached. It only does it with the Office 365 Accounts. I tried the following: 1. I reinstalled all programs. 2. Recreated the Profile 3. Removed the Office 365 Account from the profile and used a IMAP account and it works.

Hi mfrey,
The status of this investigation is still In progress and the product engineers are still finding a fix for this because they state that this appears to be an Outlook error.
As of now, the workaround available is to download the latest Office 365 update. You can refer to this article for the steps: Outlook cannot log on when emailing in QuickBooks Desktop.
You can also send your invoice to your customer via e-mail by saving your invoice as a .pdf file in QBDT and then, attach the invoice in the e-mail.
Also, I suggest contacting QuickBooks Desktop Care Team to add you to the list of affected users so that once this issue is fixed, you will be notified right away via e-mail.

I dont normally post my findings on message boards, but I thought I might help everyone who is battling with this issue.
I found the problem and the solution, the send forms dialog box uses SMTP AUTH a method for authenticating that is insecure and not enabled in Office 365, most applications use MODERN AUTH and thats where the whole problem lies.
SMTP AUTH is basic authentication and all I had to do was enable (SMTP AUTH) on Office 365.
Sounds easy, well I will attach the links to reslove it.
Step 1
Install Powershell 7 on your Windows PC (Find the .msi file)
Step 2
Install the Exchange module for Powershell 7
Step 3
Using Powershell - Enable SMTP AUTH on your Office 365 Org or individual mailbox.
I am posting this in the hopes that the quickbooks staff will document a formal step by step documentation for you guys. It took me a good hour to read through all the links above.. Good luck guys.
I am having the same issue as well. QB "help" tells me to hire an IT person
Hello there, @coffeelady1.
To help resolve the problem, you can try the workaround provided by @Eugene D, which fix the issue.
As for the IT person, can you provide more detail on why QuickBooks Help tells you to hire an IT person?
You may also want to check out this article to know how to fix the error “Outlook cannot log on” when you email reports or transactions in QuickBooks Desktop: Outlook cannot log on when emailing in QuickBooks Desktop.
Keep me posted on how things go on your end after trying the steps above. I want to ensure this gets resolved for you. Have a good day.
Thanks for your response. However -- I do not get any error message (as others have reported- QB simply closes) so the article you had me read is not applicable. QB "help" told me to hire an IT person bc according to them it is not a QB issue. The reality is that QB knows about it, has known for some time and doesn't want to pay to fix it. They don't want to help for the same reason.
I appreciate you following up with the Community, coffeelady1.
Our Product Investigations team conducted an investigation (INV-42598) and determined that the "Outlook cannot log on." message is caused by an outdated Microsoft Office 365 build. This error can be resolved by updating to the program's latest release.
Here's how:
Now that you're using the latest release of Microsoft Office 365, you can return to your books and send emails as normal.

This is still not working. Everything is updated but I can't use office 365 for email. I can access with other email but not office365. Can you tell me when this will be fixed?
I can email with everything but office 365. When is this going to be fixed?
This did not work
