Thanks for the update, @KA117.
I've got your back. I'll make sure our Development Team knows about this bug so they can fix it. In the meantime, I recommend keeping the domicile set as the US if you need to use the multi-currency feature.
I'm only a comment away if you have any other questions or concerns. Enjoy the weekend!
Yes, I'm here to help you resolve the missing currency list in the program, @KA117.
First, let's create a dummy company file to see if the currency list will appear. This helps us determine if the issue is program-related or not. I'll guide you how.
The screenshot below shows you the fifth to seventh steps.
Once created, let's turn on the multi-currency feature. Then, select your home currency from the Company Preferences tab as seen in the screenshot below.
If you're able to view the currency list, let's run the Verify and Rebuild Data utilities on your company file. The first tool self-identifies the most common data issues within a company file while the second one fixes them. For detailed steps, go through this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QBDT.
However, if you're still unable to see the list, let's run the repair tool on your company file. This resolves any program-related issues or errors. You'll first have to back up your company file and restart your computer. After that, proceed with the steps below.
For detailed instructions, check out this article: Repair Your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.
Moreover, I recommend visiting this website: Multi-currency Overview. This link provides you with steps on how to add foreign-currency customers, vendors, and accounts. Also, it contains more information about updating your exchange rates and creating foreign-currency transactions.
Just click the Reply button below if you need anything else. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, @KA117.
Thanks for your reply. Followed all your instructions, repaired and open new company file in "No Company" screen, but the following messages popped up ... Clicked "Yes" in both boxes, result still the same - empty list...
Which Premier Accountant version (year) do you have?
Hi KA117,
QuickBooks applications and services are designed for the Internet Explorer (IE) environment use. You'll have to use a supported IE version to make it to work.
You'll want to make Internet Explorer the default browser so the Multi-currency list will show. However, if it's still not showing, configure IE settings.
In case you'll encounter other errors, please check this article with troubleshooting steps for future reference: Unrecoverable Error in QuickBooks Desktop.
You can always get back to us if you have any other concerns. I'll always be here to help.
QuickBooks Accountant Desktop 2020. Thanks.
Set IE (not Edge) as default browser, this time we get the following pop-up messages:
Hey there, KA117.
I appreciate the screenshots you've provided. I'm here to ensure you'll be able to view your multi-currency lists in QuickBooks Accountant Desktop.
Script errors in QuickBooks occur when the commands can not be executed correctly due to some program issues. You can try configuring your Internet Explorer (IE). Before that, let's check the Internet Explorer's compatibility view and make it the default browser:
Once done, follow the steps below to configure the browser:
We can configure also your firewall security settings for Desktop. This is to make sure that internet access will go through without any problems.
If you're still getting the script errors, let's follow other solutions outlined in these articles:
Please get back to me if you continue to get the same results so I can look further into this. I'll stick around to help you out.
It didn't work out... Also run QuickBook File Doctor and no irregularities found.
Hi @KA117,
I appreciate you performing all the steps provided by my colleagues. You can try a clean install of QuickBooks Desktop to fix this issue.
Doing this removes the current operating system and user files during the initial installation process. It then overwrites all other content on the hard drive and launches a brand new install folder.
To uninstall the program:
When you’re done, start the Clean Install process. Refer to this link for the complete steps: Clean install QuickBooks Desktop.
If you get the same result, I recommend contacting our technical support. Here’s how:
Our representatives can perform further diagnosis and get this fixed.
Thanks for all your kind reply. Tried a clean installation but still in vain.
I took your advise and seek help from the technical support team. After a few hours efforts, we found that when you select US as domicile the multi-currency function works very well, but when you select Other as domicile the multi-currency function didn't work. Looks like a bug?
Thanks for the update, @KA117.

Hello.
Can you please let me know , how to set domicile as US in quick books.
Hello there, bj13.
Let me help you set up US domicile in QuickBooks Desktop.
First, we'll need to ensure that we are using QuickBooks US version. Otherwise, we're unable to use the US address in QuickBooks because the system will only ask to enter the company address from the US, and it'll be recorded as your domicile. It's how QuickBooks accept the permanent address.
If we're using US version, we can review your company information to verify the details and correct the home address if needed. Here's how:
Here are the sample screenshots:
When turning the multi-currency on in QuickBooks, it's advisable to use the home currency. For more tips and details about this feature, please check this article: Set up and use Multicurrency.
On the other hand, you may want to download QuickBooks Desktop using this link to get the right region and be able to set US domicile in QuickBooks Desktop. Here are things to follow to complete the process:

Thank you for your reply,
I am using QB UK Premier 2020 Editions and tried to recover the file by data verification and rebuild options . Multi currency list still shows empty with no error in data file after running these options , not able to select any currencies.
Hello Bj13,
Home currency can only be changed during the first time you turn this on. If its already enabled then it's too late and you would need to start a new file.
This link will let you more about home currencies and hopefully will help you.
QB Desktop will use the same home currency as Windows setting. Try create a dummy file or open a sample one. If you still didn't see any currency list to choose, try reinstall your QB.
Thank you for your reply!!!.
I tried both option to reinstall as well as to create a test database but it didn't work to list the multi currency option in the company file.
Install the trial license of QB Desktop US version to make sure the root cause.

In QuickBooks Desktop, your home currency depends on the version you're using. Since you mentioned that you're using QuickBooks Premier 2020, you want to consider creating a new file for the US version.
