We had call from Official Intuit number lead us to that fake download.  It's the only call that day in the call log.

Sometimes, suspicious emails can be a trick to get you to share your personal information. These scams can come in various forms but can often look convincing. If you're not sure whether an email came from Intuit, here are some things to look out for:

• Intuit will never ask for your personal information in an email.
• Our emails will always come from an email address that ends with @intuit.com, including @e.intuit.com.
• Any links we send you in an email will always be for an intuit.com address.

If you receive an email that appears suspicious, claiming to be from Intuit, asking you to log in, provide personal information, or download any tools, do not open it or access any links. Instead, visit the Intuit Online Security Center for better understanding.

this was actually Quickbooks Desktop 2024. But I can upload the attachment of the call log and browser history showing the intuit support person led us to a scam download site.  Shame on Intuit for not investing in quality US support or better vetted off shore support. Eagerly looking to alternatives to see if any can compete eventually.

Hi quick question. I have that same issue today with the same company. Did they end up getting information from your laptop after you gave access ? I figured that it was scam but after I gave them access to my laptop. Now I am terrified

Did they use logmein rescue ? That is a legit site the scammer used. I actually got a trial of that software to test. They can't access your files with the file manager without the Windows login and password. So if you didn't provide that then it seems they couldn't get your files. 

Did you get the link from an Intuit support person like we did ? I have evidence my partner was sent to the scam site from an Intuit support person who called after she clicked the get help link in QuickBooks, and the call is from the official my number.
