I ordered the new 3 up 1099 NEC forms from Quickbooks. When I print a 1099 form it skips lines in the address portion. Consequently the address does not completely show in the window so the form DOES NOT work with the envelopes QB sent. I cannot find how to align this section. HELP!
I'll give the steps where and how to align your 1099 NEC, Ray. This way, you can print and submit the form with the right lines.
Aligning the 1099 form is my focus here. So you can submit it without a moment's delay.

Align doesn't work. If your adjust the entire form upward, then you can't see the sender info. You can't make alignment adjustments that make it fit in the 2 windows. They need to remove the spacing in the way the recipient info pulls from QB to the form.
That is not a solution. It doesn't remove the spaces from the address so it will fit in the windows correctly. It only moves the whole form up and down.
Let's perform some steps to align the 1099 form when printing it on QuickBooks, rayc325, and cfaudel.
I appreciate you for performing the solutions provided in the Community space. When printing forms in QuickBooks, renaming the QBPrint.qbp file can resolve this issue. Then, run the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool to fix the damaged components on your PDF file. Here's how:
You can also follow the steps in the Troubleshoot PDF and Print problems with QuickBooks Desktop article to troubleshoot problems when printing forms in your software.
If the same thing happens, let's try opening another company file to check if you're having a problem with only one file and not the program itself. Let me show you how:
Then, try printing the 1099 form again to see if the alignment issue is fixed. If the problem persists, there may be damaged data on the company file you've been working with. We can run the Rebuild Data tool is built-in to fix any company file data issues. Just follow the steps and detail in the Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file article. I am still unable to print the 1099NEC for three up and not two up. Will there be a fix for this new format?
Thanks for following this thread, @CBirks. I appreciate your time waiting for the 1099 NEC three up to be available.
Let's ensure all updates are installed so that you'll have the 3 part form available.
First off, enable the Reset Update option to get the most updated release for QuickBooks Desktop. It usually fixes issues related to any critical updates and all other possible errors within the product.
Here's how:
Once you’ve updated, I suggest closing QuickBooks and restarting your computer.
Just in case you're still unable to print the 1099 NEC three up, your next step is to uninstall and reinstall QuickBooks.

Is there a fix coming to address the problem of the address being double spaced on the 1099-NEC? It does not fit the window envelopes designed for this form? Please Help. I DO NOT need alignment advice as this is not the problem.
The Vendor's address is double spaced when printing the 1099-NEC form. It comes out fine on a check but not the 1099-NEC. Thanks
Thanks for sharing your concern with us, rayc325.
In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), the spacing for Vendor address and all other information in 1099 is formatted to print in the pre-printed IRS1099 forms. Once this is printed on a blank page, it will appear to have double-spaced. However, this actually is the way the form is laid out.
I'm adding this IRS article for further details about 1099-NEC: Instructions for Forms 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC. It contains the complete set of instructions and the latest information about the form.

Hello!
The 1099-NEC forms are printing like a 1099-MISC form (2 up instead of 3 up). I have taken the steps listed and the problem is still not corrected. I have updated and then reset the update and still nothing. Is there anything else that can be done at this point?

1099- NEC forms for 2021 are not for printing correctly. It is not an alignment problem the problem is that the pre-printed forms came three to a page and the printing handles it the same as W-2s, that is two per page. How to get it to print three per page??
Let's make sure that you're able to print your 1099s correctly, Beth1939.
It's also important that before preparing the tax form, please take note of the following things to make sure it's printing 3 contractors per page:

Did you get an answer or find a way to fix this? I can see all of the recipient info ok, but because of the extra space in the Payer square between the name and address, my form wont print correctly. The Payer name is printing on top of the pre-printed words on the form.
Hi @SHP1,

Keep me posted if you need anything else regarding fixing the printing alignment. Have a great day.
I purchased my forms and envelopes directly from Intuit.
I have updated.
I have a compatible version.
Adobe has always been my default for PDFs.
Aligning does not remove double spacing.
I now have 2.5 days to get 1099s out.
I am paying over $400/mo for enterprise and can't even print simple forms that will show the address in the window. I would like a refund for my envelopes.Since it will cost more than the actual envelopes to have to create, print and stick labels on envelopes I already have.
How do I request that?
If you tell us to "align" again, I think we may riot.

Hello
I was having the same problem. If you are going in thru File>print forms>1099, it will keep happening. I finally went thru Vendors>1099 forms>Print/e-file 1099 forms and that worked. Try it if you haven't.
Ray
Thank you. I am actually using quickbooks online so my steps are different. I was able to use the "align" to push the wording down enough the line hardly goes through the bottom and top just barely prints on the pre-printed words. I just printed them that way.
Everyone talking about this issue is talking about the "recipient copy" of the Form 1099-NEC which gets mailed to the recipient via US Mail. We are not talking about the copies that go to the IRS which may require the formatting you mentioned. The address of the recipient on the recipient's copy must comply with USPS requirements and has nothing to do with the IRS. If USPS scanners cannot properly read the city, state, zip code, name or address of the recipient, then the 1099 Forms will not be delivered. If the 1099 Forms are not delivered, the employer could face fines and penalties from the IRS. Such fines and penalties should then be passed on to Intuit, since Intuit is failing to listen to its customers complaints. You can fix the formatting of the recipient address on just the recipient copy through simple computer programming. If you are incapable of doing this, please give us a call and we will walk you though it.
