2021 1099-NEC: how many forms are on the page? I'm using QB Accountant Desktop version 2021. I'm on Release 8_51. QB shows 2 forms per page; however, IRS has 3 forms per page. HELP! Will there be another update in QB to accomodate the 3 forms per page?
Hello there, LN21.
I can see that you posted twice about the 2021 1099-NEC form. And as mentioned by my colleague @LieraMarie_A, as of this time, QuickBooks prints two forms per page for 1099-Nec.
Before year-end, QuickBooks update the form to be compliant with IRS. Thus, I recommend checking our Product Updates page for reference to be notified of any news and updates about QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
For future help, let me share these articles that can guide you in filing your forms seamlessly:
If you have any other concerns or follow-up questions about filing your forms in QBDT, you can always get back to me in this thread. I’d be happy to assist you. Keep safe.
Can you confirm that QuickBooks desktop will be able to print the new 2021 1099-NEC 3 per page. Also a ballpark of when there will be an updated to support the new format and which versions that will be included with?
Thanks for joining this thread, tiffster00.
I can certainly understand how an ability to print 2021 1099-NEC forms with 3 per page could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.
You can also submit your own feature requests while using QuickBooks.
Here's how:
Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates.
Since these are requests, there's no guarantee a requested feature will be created. Additionally, since there's no publicized information about an update for 1099-NEC printing that specifies subscribers will be able to print 3 per page, it can only be requested for the time being. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.
You can definitely rest assured that any updates which may be required for Intuit to be compliant with the IRS will be added to the product in a timely manner.
Please feel welcome to post a reply if there's any questions. Have a wonderful day!
It is now 12/22/2021 and I still haven't seen anywhere where we can update our Quickbooks Enterprise 2019 desktop program to accommodate the new IRS forms with 3 vendors per page. How do we get that patch and aren't we cutting it pretty close?
Thanks for chiming in on this thread, MichL.
Let me share some info regarding this concern.
QuickBooks is compliant with the IRS changes and we always make sure to get all the updates into the program. For now, we're unable to get an estimated timeframe when they'll implement and release the update.
By default, when there's a new update, QuickBooks will prompt you. You can check this article for the steps: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
You can also check out this link from time to time so you'll know what changes are included in the release: Release notes for QuickBooks Desktop 2019.

It is January, and QBOL does not seem to be compliant with the new IRS 1099-NEC forms. I read previously that I can "suggest" a change, but this is a reporting requirement, not a desired feature!! When will QBOL be compliant with the new IRS 2021 1099 NEC forms? We are obviously running out of time!
Need to print 1099NEC that has a page with 3 vendors, my QuickBooks only prints 2 per page how do I fix this?
My QuickBooks is 2021 version
I'll make sure you're able to print 1099-NEC that has a page with three vendors in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @Lussac.
The QBDT system is now able to print 3 to a page for 1099-NEC. You'll have to make sure you're on the QuickBooks latest releases with the appropriate Ultra-Light Patches (ULIPs) applied or Critical Fixes.
Please see the screenshot below for your reference.

Thanks to all that have been posting about this issue. I too have taken all the advice, ran all the updates, patches and fixes, rI have ran the QB Tool hub to repair the PDF printing issues, and found that all of this has made it worse.
When I ran the 1099 wizard, I got the 1099 detail report with all the correct amounts, clocked next and the pop-up window is where you are mapping the GL accounts to the box. All I get is the option for " MISC box 15...."
I did get a call back from intuit and was put on hold while he found a "work around." after a few minutes of complete silence, the phone line disconnected me.... that was the sign for me to move on to a different task! I too have wasted more than 4 hours trying to get the 1099 printed
