Hello, @finance62.
Let me share some troubleshooting steps so you'd be able to contact our support
First, the users gather here in the Community to get support about the product. May I know what's going on and how can I help you get back to business? I'd appreciate if you can provide details of your concern on this thread, so I can lend a hand in fixing the issue.
In the meantime, you can access your QuickBooks account using a private browser or incognito browser. Then, try contacting our Customer Care team. This way we can check if this is a browser issue. You can use either of these shortcut keyboards:
Next, sign in to your QuickBooks account and go directly to the Help icon. Here's how:
If you're able to view this, you can go back to your regular browser and clear the cache. This will remove the stored cache that's causing QuickBooks to behave abnormally.
However, if the issue persists, I'd recommend trying this out using a supported and up-to-date browser.
Keep me posted on how your chat goes by leaving a comment below. I want to be your direct point of contact so you'll be taken care. I'll jump right back in to assist if you need anything else.
Thank you for letting us know about the suspicious email you've received, guesna.
Phishing, spam, spoof, or hoax emails are a huge problem today. The best protection against these security risks is awareness and prevention.
Please don't open the message until you're able to confirm its legitimacy. Intuit's security team posts information about SPAM and Phishing email attempts at the Intuit Online Security Center.
You can forward any suspicious emails immediately to stay aware. Simply follow the steps below:
I've also added these articles to determine if it is legitimate:
Stay in touch with me if you need anything else with QuickBooks. I'm always right here to help.
I received a call today from [removed] under Solucion Frikki. They stated they have been trying to contact us as we lapsed in payment. I checked my account info while I was on the phone with him and everything is paid. He wanted $499 and sent an email with a link. I called him out and said you're a scammer.
Welcome to the Community, smartmag.
Thank you for letting me and other QuickBooks users know about the call you received. I'd like to provide some additional info.
Unfortunately, as you mentioned, this sounds like an attempted scam. Intuit won't call you unless you have requested a call back from the Support Team. Also, if there's a problem with your account or credit card on file, your account will be put on hold and you'll either be notified via email or by a message the next time you log in.
Please know I'm only a comment or post away if you have any other questions. Take care!
Hello,
I had a person call supposedly from Quickbooks and told me my subscription was coming due and that I needed to pay it. Now (months later) the normal annual charge is coming through, and I looked at the previous -fraudulent payment which was higher than the normal amount and I called Quickbooks today (months later) and they couldn't find the transaction (probably fraudulent one) anywhere in the QB system. Well, I just called the bank and am trying to get in touch with the Fraud department to investigate... I can't believe a scammer is out there calling QB proadvisors or any QB customers running scams to get our money... saying it's a subscription renewal... He was indian sounding and caught me off guard. I guess we have to be prepared to get scammed from ALL ANGLES now a days... Sad. BE AWARE OF SCAMMERS TRYING TO GET YOU TO PAY FOR QB SERVICES OR THE SOFTWARE...
I hear you. If someone calls you and ask you to pay I wouldn't pay anything even if it's legit. Always ask for an email and for the love of god do some research. Scammers are getting smarter so should us.
Just got this same call from "Brian" at [removed] extension [removed]. FRAUD!!!! I had an experience with similar people a few years ago claiming to be QB support and they charged me 1,500 to fix my QB problems....but they didn't fix anything. I got the credit card company to cancel the charge and I notified QB.
Just got a call on my voice mail "Hello this is Daniel Wilson hope you're doing well. This call is in regards to your quick books annual service renewal which is due on the account and the card on file has been declined. Please call us and update your services on [removed]. Thank you and have a nice day.
I checked and had paid in September. Called them back and they said it was for "Data Reconciliation, Backup, and Manual Updates" - asked why I do not see any pending charge on my account? He said he would send an email from intuit. Told him I didn't want an email from him but would call Intuit directly to find out what was going on. He then confessed they were a 3rd party service. Asked him why he would leave a false message that 'my card on file was declined' when I hadn't used this service and he implied he was from Intuit? He then said I would not get another call from him. Becareful -- scammers are very crafty!
We recently moved back into our building and had a network mess and I called Intuit support from the link posted above and it takes me to a screen where i have two options: start chat or wait for a call back. I received a call from a female (Indian accent) who charged me 75.00 to assist me in my issue with 2018 Premier Pro. they used glance.intuit.com to remote in but never using the mouse. they had me control the mouse and go through the trouble shooting process. It was then escalated to level 2 help support and I was connected with John who resolved the issue. then right after i receive an email that my account could have been engaged in fraud by a third party. I have been receiving these emails for a week with threats that my account would be suspended if I didn't respond and verify sensitive information. so i called back through the same official channel i used to resolve my issue, and they had me verify my information then told me I had to filled a form from an article:
to remove a yellow flag and when the links were not working the service rep (male indian accent) said not to worry the back end team will verify and add extra security protection to my account. Been with QBs for 13+ years and never had to go through this. Was I just had? everything points to me being had, but I was using the intuit help desk and click the call back option.
I received a voice message from someone claiming to be from Intuit QuickBooks requesting a call back for a renewal. I purchased the desktop version so there is no renewal, correct? This is the message she left below:
"Hi this is Jessica calling you from Intuit quick book. I am the account manager. The reason for this call is in regards to your quick books account and the annual so it is due for a new(?) and the card on file has been declined. Kindly call us back toll free number [removed] and you can ask for Jessica. Thank you have a great day."
Is this a scam?
I've got your back, @AWAS.
This looks like an attempted scam. QuickBooks support will only call you if you have a requested callback and our phone support team doesn't have a direct phone number. You can only connect with them by going to the Help icon and choosing the Contact us button. Also, if there is a problem with your QuickBooks account, you'll receive a notification via email or a message when you signed in to your account.
To further investigate this, it would be best to reach out to our QuickBooks Desktop support team. The representative uses specific tools to pull up your account in a secure environment. Here's how:
For your reference, please see this article: Recognize and report suspicious emails (Phishing).
I also encourage you to visit our QBDT Help page. From there, you can browse articles or get some ideas from other QuickBooks users and experts. This way, you'll get more insights that can help you with your QuickBooks tasks.
Post again here in the Community if you notice more suspicious voice messages or emails in the future. I'm here to give you some tips to ensure the safety of your account. Have a great day ahead!
I received a call today from [removed]. Same thing, stating that our subscription was up for renewal and our card on file was not going through. I stated that our subscription was paid in full. "Steve" was persistent stating that it was not the software subscription he was calling about, but the "bi-annual fee" for the full service support package that goes with it.
To combat these types of scams, I tell them I have to investigate the status of our payment and to give me their number so that I can call them back. Usually, this will be enough and most scammers will hang up.
The scammer who called today is VERY sophisticated and gave me a bogus tech support number of [removed]. I called it just to investigate and they have this down to a science - including muzak while you are on hold. You get redirected back to the operator who then transfers you again. My guess the extension number is their internal code that someone who is calling back for that extension may be on to them and you are directed to a voicemailbox of "Steve Miller". This way they may get folks foolish enough to leave their card information in a voicemail.
Folks, please do not give out ANY information to anyone who calls you that you do not know.
I've had the same thing happen to me four times now. This started in June of 2019, twice in 2020 and just last month. Each time I was so frustrated with the person because I told them the subscription wasn't due yet. One of the times I complained because Quickbooks was so expensive so they cut my price in half. Now I now why Quickbooks was so expensive - half of the charges weren't even real!!! I discovered this today when I was charged again from Intuit for my payroll subscription and I called them and said I just paid you last month, what is going on? That's when they verified that those other charges were not from them. They come across as Quickbooks on my credit card statement. My card company is now investigating them all. How frustrating....
I received a call flagged as Potential Spam by my cellular carrier today. Dennis left me a voicemail claiming to be from [something unintelligible] Quickbooks. He said the card on file for our annual subscription was declined. This seemed odd to me since my clients all 1) pay a monthly subscription for QBO, and 2) are under my wholesale billing! Beware, the scammers are at it again.
I had trouble sending out invoices Jan. 1, 2020 and tried contacting Intuit for help. Received a call later from someone claiming to be from Intuit Quickbooks Solution Provider, Quickbooks & Accounting. I spent the better part of Jan. 2 on the phone and letting have access to my computer to fix the problem. He showed me a corrupted page of code and said it looked like I had been hacked. The problem was corrected and my company received a bill for $1059.99 for a 3 yr. service contract. We paid it!. I received a call last month from this same outfit claiming that our program was not properly updating itself and they would need to fix it. I became suspicious and said I did not have time to deal with it and they could call me later. I tried calling the 800 number on the invoice and a recording said that number was not in service. I receive multiple calls from different numbers over the next few weeks during which time I upgraded and reconfigured all of our security software. I filed a report with the FCC and Idaho Attorney General. I am extremely disappointed that upon reading that other's have fallen for this that Intuit is not actively pursuing this scam. Your reputation is at stake! You need to have a readily available site for not only reporting scams but collecting evidence and working with law enforcement, but apparently you don't really care if your customers get ripped off. I'm old enough to have seen a lot of major companies go belly-up when it became apparent they didn't care about their customers, only their customer's wallets. You won't lose business by declaring war on scammers, you'll gain a loyal following. You are not the only game in town anymore.
I just received a call from "quickbooks" support saying they were notified of errors on their server from my PC. The man had a heavy Indian accent and wanted to log in to my computer. He had me pull up Event Viewer and said all the errors I had were from Quickbooks - although they didn't say anything about Quickbooks. Then he said he would join my screen to fix them. I told him he could walk me through it without joining my computer but he said that would not be possible.
So I said goodbye. Fraud?

Are there human support people who can speak by phone
@WEC75 Click the link. Find your product and follow the instructions there.

Another option if you don't want to click on a link here (I get that). Go into Help in your program and look for Contact Us.
It may take a couple of clicks and an auto chat but you should be able to get the "Support Phone Number" that way. And since you're inside your QBs program, you know it's coming from them.
Same thing happened to me. He called me from [removed]. Also calling about security update. He wanted access to my computer, but I knew better than to give anyone access. You always request a call from the help tab no one should ever call you.
I got the same call! I called quick books and checked with them, they said all my subscriptions are up to date.
be careful and always call first!
