Buy nowHas anyone who is running Desktop for Mac 2021 upgraded to Tahoe (version 26)? If you have, is it running correctly?
Hi sys718. Thank you for reaching out to the Community.
QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2021 (QBDT Mac 2021) has not been officially tested with macOS Tahoe (version 26), as QuickBooks has officially discontinued the product. While QBDT Mac 2021 may still work, you may encounter compatibility issues when running it with a newer macOS version.
QBDT Mac 2021 has specific system requirements. You can refer to this article to learn more: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2021.
You may consider upgrading to a newer version of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac to ensure compatibility with the latest macOS.
Should you have any other questions, feel free to respond here.
Our clients reported that QB Desktop 2024 supports Tahoe. It seems their engineering team is better prepared to support the latest macOS this year. There are no reports yet for older versions (i.e 2022 and earlier). However, if you're brave enough to be an early adopter, I would welcome it. Worst case scenario, you can use the trial version of 2024 as a workaround.
I ended up installing QB desktop on MacOS Tahoe and so far it’s been working fine for the last few days.
@sys718 are you referring to the 2021 version of QB desktop for Mac? I'm in the same boat and am waiting on upgrading to Tahoe.
Yes, I am, and it seems to be working fine so far
@sys718 How long have you had it installed now and any issues since your last post? And just want toverify once again as someone else asked, You installed quickbooks for Mac Desktop 2021?
@PBRstreetgang Just curious if you made the upgrade to Tahoe with Quickbooks for Mac Desktop 2021 yet? I'm looking to confirm with more than one person to make sure it's working before I try to upgrade.
@Spiderterp Pinging you here on this forum string too in case you see it. Curious to know if you ran your testing on Tahoe and if it's working for you or not?
I’ve been using QuickBooks Desktop 2021 for Mac for several years, and after updating my Mac to OS Tahoe 26 last week, it’s still running smoothly. However, I don’t use online bank reconciliation or any other online transactions, so I can’t confirm how well those features work.
@myashus, thank you for tagging me in this thread. I haven't had a chance to upgrade yet, but I plan to do it after work today, once I've completed a Time Machine backup. I will be back to comment if I have any issues.
@myashus , upgrade to Tahoe is complete and my QB 2019 and QB 2021 are functioning the same as before.
@Spiderterp That's awesome! That's why I wanted to tag you on this thread. You kept me up to date on the Sequoia thread and I've been running good after each of your updates. Thanks... Appreciate it! Will probably be checking in as new updates for Tahoe come through and see if all is still good.
@sys718 Thanks for confirming. I don't use the online banking or payroll either, so none of that would apply to me.
