Hi there, @zontor2. I'm stepping into the thread to share with you some information about upgrading QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Usually, once you decided to upgrade to a newer version (year) of QBDT, you’ll also need to upgrade your company files. This means that you can create a backup copy of your QBDT 2019 file, and then restore it to a newer version. Creating backup copies is also a save point for your accounting data. If you ever run into problems, you can use your backup to restore your data.
The system asks you to upgrade your company file the first time you open it in your newer version. Keep in mind that you can no longer open your company file in your original version of QuickBooks after you upgrade it. For more information, open this article: Upgrade your company files after you switch to a new version of QuickBooks Desktop.
Once done upgrading and opening your company file, update QuickBooks so you have the latest software release to keep your software up-to-date so you always have the latest features and fixes.
If you have any other questions about your QBDT file, let me know by adding a comment below. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!
thank you for the reply, however i was not inquiring about a new version. i do not have the need to upgrade from 2019 version as it fits my needs. if in the event that i have to reinstall my 2019 version due to a system crash or upgrading my pc that would require reinstallaion will the auto update bring it to the latest 2019? is there a file to download that includes the patches to bring 2019 up to current 2019 level?
thanks in advance

The desktop version suits all my business need, but find I'm unable to use the banking feeds to pull in my transactions from the business account. Is there a way to be able to utilize this feature without spending on the upgrade?
