If I purchase Quickbooks Desktop Pro Plus 2021 with the free 1-year subscription for $200 and then don't renew the subscription after the "free" year is up. What happens to the software if you don't renew the subscription?
Does it turn into Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2021 after the year?
I don't require "plus" features, just the standard QBDP like all previous years.
In the past I've paid:
Quickbooks Pro 2010 3-user = $412
Quickbooks Pro 2013 = $160
Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2016 = $189
Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2019 = $149
Hey there, @MrTom4.
Let me explain to you what will happens to your QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus subscription if you don't renew your subscription.
At the end of your current subscription period, you'll no longer be able to use or access QuickBooks Desktop. Your will company file will remain on your device, but you'll need to re-activate your subscription to be able to open and view it.
If you will not be renewing the subscription, you can purchase a single QuickBooks Pro license instead. This license supports a single user and is locally-installed.
You also can install the product on up to three computers and doesn't require you to pay for the features that you no longer needed such as annual upgrades and free automatic data backups.

Ok, so for $200 you get the privilege of using Quickbooks Pro for only 1 year? How much money are you on the hook for the following year for renewal?
It looks like the single Quickbooks Pro license is $400? Why so expensive? Is it because it's a new version early in the tax year? As I stated before, I usually purchase Desktop Pro for under $200 and it's mine, for life.
You stated "You also can install the product on up to three computers." But you used to be able to install the product on as many computers as you wanted. If you purchased extra licenses then some of those computers could access the same file at the same time. Has Intuit changed how many computers you can even install it on?
Hello there, MrTom4.
Depending on how many license seats you've purchased, you can install your QuickBooks to many computers as you can. To determine this details, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team to review your account. They can provide you the details of your QuickBooks, the validity of the license number, due dates, and other necessary information regarding the product. You can use this link to reach them: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support.

QB Desktop for 3 users = you are allowed to install on 3 machines, exclude a server as storage only
Company is increasing the license price of QBD 2021. You may still purchase a new one time license of QBD 2020 until next week thru partners.
QBD 2020 Pro for 1 user < $350
QBD 2020 Pro for 3 user < $650
QBD 2021 Pro for 1 user = $399
QBD 2021 Pro for 3 users = $899
QBD 2021 Pro Plus for 1 user = $199, renewal = $299
QBD 2021 Pro Plus for 3 users = $399, renewal = $699
Seriously, F*&k Intuit. Their support absolutely sucks based on my recent experience and it doesn't warrant the increase in pricing. On 2019, I can't even login from the Desktop application. It says error on our end. We're on it. However, it has said this for a few weeks now.
What kind of error message did you encounter?
When trying to sign in using any method within Quickbooks, the error literally says "There’s an issue on our end. We’re on it." It's a light red box that appears the Email or user ID field. I can basically enter anything in the user id and password fields and the same error will occur. This happened a few weeks ago.
This is not the impression we want you to experience, kguitarist.
If you're trying to activate services (such as DD, VMP, or WC), we have an ongoing issue where customers encounter "There's an issue on our end. We're on it." error when logging in. Rest assured, our engineers are working together on the permanent fix of this issue. In this case, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They'll add you to the list of affected users and they'll send you an email notification once there's an update for this one.
You may send a message via chat, call us at a time convenient to you, or we’ll get in touch with you instead. To ensure we address your concern, our representatives are available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturdays, PST. @RCV wrote:If you're trying to activate services (such as DD, VMP, or WC),
I'm not trying to activate those services. I am trying to sign in to QB desktop to be able to accept QB record QB payments and to send quotes/invoices.
Because my initial phone call to QB was so terrible and useless (they sent an article of how to reset my password), I thought perhaps it was an issue with 2019 so I purchased QB plus 2021 and I can't event open my file because I can't activate that version of QB. I wish to get this refunded or do a charge back because there is clearly a larger issue that started a few weeks ago. The reason I needed to call was because the website said to go to chat within the desktop application under help. The chat opened, I entered my information, and then after submitting nothing happened and it said there was a problem with chat and to call. However, there was no phone number listed after being instructed to call.
I then had to call the sales line and speak with sales because any other phone menu item wanted you to end the call or it would end the call for you if you chose something other than sales. Once I spoke to the CSR, their flip chart instructed them to plug two different products while not addressing the issue or acknowledging an issue may exist. No, I wasn't interested in QB 2021 and no, I wasn't interested in a subscription service. I've used QB for years and it has just worked and if I have a question, I Google it. I've always known that QB support was lacking, but this was really bad.
Do I downgrade and reinstall 2019? Currently, the software is unusable and I have work to get done.
This isn't the kind of service we want you to experience, kguitarist.
I'm here to ensure this error will be taken care of.
I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team again for this to be further investigated. One of our representatives will securely check your account to determine the main cause of the error.

Complete failure. I tried this. It opened up the pre-chat form. I filled it out and then it just went to a blacnk screen after submitting the information.

I couldn't agree with you more. Just found out that my annual QB upgrade and enhanced payroll has went up over 300%! I usually purchase annually for $250. This is for the newest version of QB Pro with Enhanced Payroll Subscription for 1 year, for which I own the QB software. Now I just found out that Intuit is only selling QB Pro PLUS w/ payroll for about $500. AND YOU DO NOT OWN YOUR SOFTWARE OR LICENSE! And the scam is that you have to keep paying the exorbitant rate annually if you want to keep using QB. If you stop paying, you loose it completely and can't even use QB anymore! You own NOTHING! POOF! QB gone and never to be used again without annual fee! They try to make it sound good, like you get unlimited support and backup, but I never even need that, plus they are not the best support, so why pay for something I do not need. To purchase outright QB Pro with 1 year payroll service it is now $800 compared to $250 that I paid for the past several years. A complete scam and rip off by Intuit! Cleary they do not care about their customers! They are trying to lock us into high annual fees that we will be required to continue paying indefinitely! For something we will no longer even own! What a rip off QB just became! I will never recommend them again!
I was here to see if anyone else realized this. It is a bait and switch. QB must have put a stop to the cheaper bundled prices in the past and allow only the plus bundle.
You may still purchase a one time license of QBD 2021. e.g Pro 1 user = $399, Premier 1 user = $499

Well that's the thing. I purchased a one time license of QBD 2019 Pro 1 user for $149. Now it's $399. They didn't even bother to slowly increase it, from $199 to $249, then $299, then $349. Nope, they just doubled their standard price from $199 to $399.
And during a pandemic when businesses are struggling. Thanks Intuit. (thumbs up, with a cheesy grin)

You'll love this one. On 2/2/21 I receive an email from Intuit with the subject "IMPORTANT INFORMATION: QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Annual Renewal Notice" with content of "We are sending you this notice to let you know that your annual subscription for Intuit QuickBooks Enhanced Payroll will be automatically renewed on 03/18/2021 at a price of $450, plus tax where applicable, unless you cancel before the renewal date."
And then on 2/3/21 I get this email with the subject of "Pricing Information: Your QuickBooks Payroll Subscription" and the content of "Effective March 18, 2021, your subscription fee for Enhanced Payroll will be $500 per year. All other fees, including the per employee fee, remain the same. All fees are subject to tax, where applicable."
A $50/yr increase in one day. Clearly a mistake by some department at Intuit, the left hand not taking to the right hand.
Yup. They are very confident about the pricing strategy 8)
So, after buying pro plus 2021 with payroll for 400.00, I would basically have to rebuy an 2021. What a money grab. QB should let us use the pro 2021 and just deactivate the plus portion.

What is the renewal fee for the 4th year on QB Desktop Pro Plus
Thanks for reaching out to us today, @EvaTT,
Joining the thread to share some insights about the QuickBooks Pro Plus subscription. The yearly renewal for this service without payroll is $299 (1 user license). This pricing may change if you have multiple licenses or a payroll bundled with the software.
You can see the actual and discounted pricing of our Pro Plus service here: Get a whole lot more with Pro Plus
Also, if you need further help with billing, I always recommend reaching out to our customer service. They can look at your account and give you the full details of your bill and the exact renewal amount you will pay next cycle.

Your current customer support is absolute garbage; we ALL know how to look up articles in the QB community or Google. I am on DAY 3 of trying to get an error resolved so that I can upgrade to a new version, yet, no one has been able to help me. Additionally, EVERY support call back (4 of them) has been disconnected: one during a transfer to a different department, one call had no one on the other end of the line, one call was dropped during a screen share. I even gave the support rep my phone number at the beginning of the call and asked her if she could call me back if something happened. Well, the call was disconnected and she NEVER called back! What HORRIBLE service. I provided QB Support for franchisees for EIGHT years; I know how to handle more issues than your team. I need your payroll department to help fix the error from a rebuild as instructed by the message I received at the time of the error. However, there is no easy way to get in touch with your payroll department like there was in previous years. For this current issue: I have worked with chat support (useless) and requested call backs; researched how to fix this issue to no avail for TWO entire days. Now I am on day THREE. Ridiculous to say the least, and now Intuit wants to hike the prices & hijack our company file info if we end our Plus subscription? What for? Based on what I have researched, the exorbitant increase does justify the 'great' new features being released. How long with we be able to purchase the stand alone software before we are forced into a Plus plan?
Oh, and as far as your desktop cloud hosting; I moved an entire franchise system (literally hundreds of users) to Right Networks for our QB hosting provider and they are not a great vendor. We had multiple issues with their service connection, app integration and their customer service has gone down over the years as well.
If Intuit wants to make customers happy (which is obviously of no concern to them) then create a true online version of Desktop (QBO sucks) and up your customer service game. Maybe then the costs would become more palatable.
how do i renew my desktop pro plus payroll
I only have 1 user for payroll.
