Printing checks

I have been able to print checks all along until today.  When I hit the print and preview button nothing happens.  I cleared my cookie cache, My adobe is up to date.  My printer is good.  Not sure what else to do?

Thanks for letting me know, TB_Michelle66.

I want to make sure you're able to print your checks in QuickBooks Online.

Would you mind attempting to do this in a different browser?

Additionally, I recommend clearing the cache in the the browser you're currently using. The cache collects older data which can cause viewing and performance errors in QuickBooks Online. Clearing it will refresh the system and allow you to work with a clean slate. This article provides step-by-step instructions on this process depending on which browser you're using: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Getting-Started/How-do-I-clear-my-browser-cache-and-temporary-Internet-files/m-p/186420.

Please let me know how things go after giving this a try. I'll be here to help in any way that I can.

    Hey there, Belld03.

Thank you for contacting the Community with your concerns regarding printing checks. I'd like to provide some information on this issue you're seeing.

There have been several reports of the check printing function being down. The Engineering Team is aware and diligently working to get this back up and running as soon as possible. I have received notification that users should be able to print within an hour. You can view status updates by following this link: http://status.quickbooks.intuit.com/.

I appreciate your patience during this time. I'm only a comment away if you have any other questions.

      MorganB,

According to the link, it says "A fix has been implemented for the issue with printing vendor checks in QuickBooks Online. For the fix to take affect, please refresh your browser. "  I tried refreshing my browser as well as closing it, but still nothing.

All of a sudden I can't print checks. Either for settlements or payroll. When I Press print nothing happens it goes into never never land.   No printer comes up for me to choose. I tried changing printers that didn't help I can print pay stubs, I can print from word etc just not checks in quicksbooks. It has to be in the program.

Thanks for bringing this concern to my attention, @Red Door Consignment Gallery.

I want to ensure you'll be able to print your checks successfully and get you back to business. Let's get this sorted out.

In situations like this, you can try printing your checks using a private browser to verify if the issue is browser-related. If it works fine, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. To do that, you may follow the instructions given by my colleague MorganB above.

However, if the issue persists after performing these steps, you may refer to this link for more troubleshooting steps: Fix QuickBooks Online printing issues.

Lastly, if the problem continues, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Customer Care Team. They have the necessary tools that can help investigate what's causing this issue.

Please know that I'm just a reply away if you need further assistance with printing checks. I'll be around to help you out. Have a good one.

I do not do quickbooks online, it is on my laptop so it can't be a browser issue. This really has me stumped. I have had numerous people in the office try to figure it out. Can you please help

I got a new computer - everything  has worked great until today.   I have worked all morning - trying to get something other than the "test" sheet, with no success.    I have updated everything with my printer, still no luck.   Any other suggestions?

      Let me help you, @Dawn61.

You’ll want to ensure the printer is set as the default printer and uses a printer online. You can try to reset the default printer to resolve this issue.

      You can follow these steps:

      1. From the Start button, select Settings or Control Panel.
      2. Double-click Printers and Faxes.
      3. From the Printers and Faxes dialog window, right-click on a working printer.
      4. Select Set as Default Printer.
      5. Open QuickBooks and open the Printer Setup window to verify changes.

For further information about the setup, please refer to this article: When printing from QuickBooks, the Printer Setup window does not open.

If it works, you can refer to this link as your reference to print checks in QuickBooks.

My checks already have my logo and address printed in the top left corner.  How do i remove that when printing my checks.  Currently it prints over logo and address

      Hello @Jcrewis5,

As of the moment, there isn't an option to customize the content of your checks before printing them. You'll have to use one of our papers so you won't need to customize them.

Lastly, here's a few articles you can read to learn more about how you can manage your account and transactions: Help Articles for QuickBooks Online.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, let me know in the comments. I'll be here to help.

      Hello, @rcapuchino.

We currently have an ongoing investigation (INV-47104) about users getting a blank screen when viewing the Print and Preview for checks. This might be the reason why you aren't able to view the pending checks for printing.

At this time, I encourage reaching out to our Support Team so a representative can check and investigate this further. If verified that you're one of the affected users on the current issue, they'll also add your account to the list and automatically receive email notification of the latest updates.

To contact support, tap on Contact us from the Help menu.

Thanks for visiting us and letting us know about this, @Kellie24,

While this thread has multiple discussions for printing checks in QuickBooks Desktop and Online, may I know which product are you using? I need this information so I can provide the best resolution to resolve this problem.

In the meantime, if you have QuickBooks Online and having trouble printing checks, make sure your laptop meets our system requirements. You also need an updated Adobe Reader version 11.0 or higher to print forms. Then make sure the desired printer is set as the default printer on the new device.

If everything meets the required specifications and still won't allow you to print, follow the troubleshooting steps found in this article: Troubleshoot Issues with Printing and .PDF Files

Lastly, if none of the steps work, please contact our live support immediately to report this. Here's how:

      1. Go to the (?) Help menu and click on Contact Us.
      2. Enter the keyword Account Management and Billing in the What can we help you with? box.
      3. On the next screen, scroll down to the Choose a way to connect with us section.
      4. Choose Start messaging to initiate a discussion with a live agent or Get a call for callbacks.

When using the messaging option, a small discussion box will open at the bottom right section of your monitor. An agent will be with you after filling in the information. See this:

I'll be waiting for your response on how things will go. I'm also here if you need further help with anything in QuickBooks. Have a nice day!
