I'd love to help you update your Merchant account's phone number. Before doing so, make sure you login as the Master Admin of the account.

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Payment account.
  2. Select Account, then choose Account Profile.
  3. Go to the Contact information section.Then,select Edit,.
  4. Then after making changes, select Submit.

this would be great if they allowed you to change your number without the use of a disconnected or old number to verify. Obviously an oversight. Email should be an option.

It is a great idea to get the confirmation code through the email address linked to your Merchant account when changing your phone number. However, at this time, it'll only allow you to get the confirmation code via the previous phone number associated.

 

Just in case you need to change your phone number in your Merchant account, you can follow the detailed steps provided by my colleague above.

That doesn't work since confirmation code is sending to a phone number that doesn't exist anymore .  finally and after hours at the phone and all types of agrevation  a get a paper form from somebody in Merchant.  Still in process and hopping this finally gets resolved.    I will never use payments troutgh quickbooks again.  Merchant and the payment team of quickbooks are bounch of useless individuals.

I am having the same problem. I have sent in the form to change my phone number multiple times and still, my phone number has not been changed. I have money stuck in quickbooks because I cannot change my phone number. I do not have access to the old phone number anymore. No solution has been provided from the support team. Do I need to make a complaint against Quickbooks?

I have followed the detail steps multiple times with no resolution. I have spent hours on the phone with merchant support and they are not able to help me with changing my phone number.

The phone number on file in the account profile is wrong it is not my number when I go to change the number to my real number that’s wrong number pops up and I cannot change it because I am trying to add my bank account information into the account profile so that I may receive money owed to me I’ve been trying to do this for a week or two now really need to get this done I need your help

Since you're unable to receive the code to update your phone number for your Merchant Services account, I'd recommend contacting our Merchant Services Team. They have the tools to pull up your account, securely, and help you update your phone number successfully.

I have called two times and still have yet to receive the form via email.  This is very frustrating and causing extra build up of work due to the excessive delay.  Mine is the same is a disconnected phone number and no way to receive a text or phone call.  I am strongly considering another product all together.  Nothing user friendly here.

I am also stuck in the time-sucking loop from hell. Obviously in this day and age, Intuit is intentionally trying to keep its customers away from 1. speaking in person to someone who can help, and 2. from changing the associated phone number of the account. I've tried to cancel my merchant account, and of course, it requires a code sent to my old, out-of-service phone. Okay, so then I try the "Chat with Us" link, which results in a blank landing page. Okay, then I try the 800-877-3279 support #, and this is a dead end loop that hangs up on you. So then I try the Chat option, which doesn't launch a chat at all. Where did that go? Who knows. What a cluster of a user experience. My regular QB Online account is cancelled, but the Merchant Payments account is still charging me $20/month and won't allow any reasonable way to cancel. I'm very angry with this company. These links the support keeps sending to give you instructions is another smoke screen.

This isn't the kind of experience that we want you to have when canceling your Merchant Services account, @birdiebird. That's why I'm here to guide you on the actions you need to take care of the issue.

 

I appreciate you for contacting our QuickBooks Payments support through the means you've provided above (chat and phone number). After you cancel your regular QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, you'll still have read-only access to it for a year. With this, you can log into your QBO account, then contact our Merchant Services Support team from there. Let me guide you how.

 

We've updated our support options in QBO. You need to request a callback to talk to one of our representatives and relay this matter. You'll first have to check out our support hours to ensure we can assist you on time. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to the Help menu.
  3. Choose Contact Us
  4. Enter your specific concern in the What can we help you with? field. 
  5. Click Let's talk
  6. Select Get a callback. 
  7. Enter your contact details. 
  8. Click Confirm my call

Following up, by logging into my Desktop version of Quickbooks Online, and going to the Support, then Chat, I was finally able to get to the option to have someone call me back. A service rep called me in 20 minutes, and she took care of everything quickly and gracefully. Glad to see that you have quality employees, Intuit.

I appreciate you for checking with us regarding the feature you need for QuickBooks Payments. I'm here to share what I know about updating the contact information in Merchant Services.

 

As of now, the ability to forward the confirmation code to the registered email is still unavailable. I would feel the same, especially that the update process will take time for users.

 

It would be beneficial to have this feature in Merchant Services to streamline the process. Our engineers might consider bringing this feature over in the future. 

 

As we assess this, I suggest sending feedback directly to our engineers. You can do it by accessing Merchant Services and clicking the Feedback option in the upper-right corner (see screenshot below).

Is there an update on this? I'm encountering the same issue. I have a deactivated phone number and deactivated bank account number under my profile that a payment was sent to. I have no way to update this information.

At this time, we haven't received any update on the option to forward the confirmation code to the registered email in your Merchant account. Please know that all suggestions are being considered by our product engineers based on the volume of requests and their influence on the user interface before they are implemented.

 

If you haven't yet, I encourage submitting feedback directly to our product engineers. They may look into this suggestion and consider adding the option in the future update. To send feedback, you can follow the steps provided by my colleague AlcaeusF above.

How i can change my phone number in merchant ?

I've gone through the process to upload the request form. In the original instructions clearly said:

 

Use the Case ID listed above and your email address, along with the "pin" provided to you by the QuickBooks Payments expert to upload the following documents:

  • The completed form below
  • A copy of your Driver's License or government issued ID

 

I did exactly that and received the following reply:

 

Please upload completed and whole Change Form with the entire email from top to bottom, including "Note: The signer of this request must correspond to the signer of the Merchant Application."

 

I did what was asked of me and now there's some additional detail that was specified in the original instructions. This is complete nonsense and a waist of my time. 

 

This process needs to be fixed. I haven't been able to update my account information for 7 days now. Money in my merchant account was sent to a deactivated bank account, I was charged a returned fee and I still can't even update my information.
