Intuit stole my money from my quickbooks checking and fraudulently closed my account. What do I do?

It will help if provide more details on such an unusual incident. Please, confirm this is not an isolated incident where you were just not able to access the portal.

But just in case of the worse

1- Check any IRS collection

2- Check there was not an issue with the delivery of the plastic card

3- Check there is not a claim or chargeback

4- Check you are not an international location.

But if still convinced that you are deprived of your balance, there are a few government agencies to file a claim. From top of my mind is the Federal Trade Comision.   Judicial claim, very expensive since your agreement force you to go to Federal court.

Good luck and keep us informed.

Intuit stole my money from my quickbooks checking and fraudulently closed my account. What do I do?

Did you get your money back? They closed my checking account and are withholding thousands of dollars from me and stating I have to wait at least 270 business days to get my money back.

@NotHappy123

As far as I know their decision is final to hold your money and will release it once it reaches a certain date. You may have 2 options until then:
1. Use third party merchant services to receive payments and link them to your QBO.
2. Migrate your data to another brand and purchase a third party conversion service if needed.

Intuit stole my money from my quickbooks checking and fraudulently closed my account. What do I do?

My only concern is getting my money at this point. Other users on this forum seem to point people to contacting the FDIC or consumerfimlnance.gov. I have no plans for QB book to keep my money for over a year. It's a disgrace and they should be ashamed.

Have you tried contacting any of the above? Did you get your money back? If so how long did it take?

They did the make thing to me. I didn’t do anything wrong. Nobody contacted me or asked me about anything. I called 10 times, had chat with them.

it’s just ridiculous. They need to be punished.

This is also happening to me.

LOCKED up money, closed my merchant account after I've been with them since 2004.

Idiots on the phone can apologize but have NO answer accept to say it's under review and it could take 1-3 YEARS before they release my funds.

Not sure if my next call is to the BBB, FCC, or a really good attorney.

i am contacting a really good attorney and going to invest what they stole from me to the attorney. it is not about the money any more. it is about allowing quick books to get away with treating there customer like this. Feel free to contact me [Removed].

Intuit stole my money from my quickbooks checking and fraudulently closed my account. What do I do?

This just happened to me

Is this legal to steal money and use it to make interest profit while they lock us out from using it?

It says I received an email but I never did.

A couple weeks ago I got a scam call prying for information from someone that falsely claimed to be from Inuit and asking me for my EIN and other tax information out of nowhere and were referencing information that had nothing to do with my business or my QuickBooks company.

Then I couldn't transfer money so I requested a call - I got 10 calls after that from scammers and then finally Inuit support who put me on hold for a long time, then I could transfer again, and then said they didn't do anything.

Clearly a blatant lie - what's going on here? Clearly this is a common pattern from Inuit recently.

Are they perhaps going bankrupt and stealing from customers?

This just happened to me too!  Has anyone gotten any info on who to call to escalate this, this is ridiculous they cannot just take hold of it.  I will gladly join a class action lawsuit over this.

Intuit stole my money from my quickbooks checking and fraudulently closed my account. What do I do?

They recently stole $20,000 from my account.  We run a documentary company and are currently collecting media for a pilot to expose them (do what you love to fight what you hate).  Contact us if you have a story with legitimate documentation.  We’ve had several calls with QBO trying to get to the bottom of this.  First they said they would reach a decision in 30 days, the next person told us it was resolved and we’d receive confirmation in a day or two (nope) next person said there was nothing they could do.  Then I got an email saying they’d give me a response in the next 50 days.

Here’s the rub.  They don’t give the money back to the person who issued the payment either.  They hold it and day trade with it or use the money indefinitely for their gain. It’s impossible for you to reach them (only entry level support who can’t tell you anything).  My client tried.  Their bank tried.  I tried.  Efforts are futile. Please don’t waste your time trying to get these criminals to give your money back to you or your client.  You can’t afford to sue them either.  All we can do is create a large enough message to attract a class action law suit.  They are already under so much scrutiny. Please please please share your story and document your journey!

If it helps you, I detailed my story on the community thread linked below and how I did SUCCESSFULLY get my money back after contacting the Better Business Bureau. It may also help you to know QB works with Green Dot Bank for their checking and financial services.

That is helpful.  I've filed a complaint with BBB and we'll see how it goes. This has been a surreal experience.  Did Green Dot Bank do anything to help you or are you mentioning that so I can stay the hell away from them?

Hi Nicely11 and ewilson47,

I understand you didn't have a good experience with your QuickBooks Checking account and had contacted our Support team about it. However, we have limited access here, and the best way to address account-related concerns is to keep in touch with the QuickBooks Payments or Green Dot Bank teams since they have more tools on their end. Please contact team again, so they can assist you about your accounts.

We are in the same boat. I am contacting Class Action Attorneys now and have filed a complaint with the State AG office that seems very interested, perhaps they have more complaints. They say payments are withheld for security concerns, why not refund the customer then, why would you just hold the funds? I will keep you updated.

Intuit stole my money from my quickbooks checking and fraudulently closed my account. What do I do?

The most frustrating part was not being able to contact anyone that could give me any information.  I finally got my issue resolved, but it wasn't easy.  It took three months.  I contacted the Better Business Bureau based on another recommendation on this forum and provided full details of my situation.  I was contacted by someone from Quickbooks within a couple of days.  We began making progress at that point but it was slow.  Quickbooks also started holding payments from other unrelated clients while the case was being resolved. I have no idea if/why this would be legal. After everything was said and done they gave me all the money back and released the funds from all my other invoices that customers had been paying.  They determined that I was correct and after taking a grand total of over $20,000 and holding on to it for three months they simply gave it back.  I spent dozens of hours on the phone.  I swear to god I thought I was going to have a heart attack at one point.  I think the last thing they said to me was "Please let me know if there's anything else we can do for you".

Intuit stole my money from my quickbooks checking and fraudulently closed my account. What do I do?

Not going good for me.  Its been four months without my funds. So frustrating that they don't send me any updates. I've lost $72000. Every time I contact Green Dot department, they give me a different excuse or want me to send identification verification again.  I have filed with FTC,BBB, CFPB, and trying to get a lawyer involved but they don't call back either.  I don't have the time needed for this. I'm still trying to run my business while this nightmare is happening. I need help but don't know where to get it.

Intuit stole my money from my quickbooks checking and fraudulently closed my account. What do I do?

My funds were only 2,200.00 but now i'm going after damages as I lost a contracted client over this mess today. So my attorney is going for damages and the payout of my contract that was for a year as well as suffering. Don't waste your time with QB they will not and do not help. You can talk to tons of their customer support all with different BS answers. Even providing documents didn't help with QB. Even if you see an attorney still file complaints with the BBB, FTC, the attorney general, the states insurance commission and file a police report for theft. Also contact your insurance company for loss of income due to theft. You need the police report for that. Bring all documents and save all chat support logs as well if you happen to use the chat support. The attorney will also use all documents and complaints filed for your case. Yes, you can sue for damages and suffering depending on the impact to you and your business. I would have just settled for the reversal from the mistake they made but not after talking with my attorney. The impact was too great and they have no interest in fixing it in a timely manner. Trust me you'll get your justice just go to an attorney.
