1099 Forms printing incorrectly --- one is too high, one is too log ---THIS IS NOT ABOUT ALIGNMENT SETTINGS

This is an issue with HOW the 3 part form is matching up to the boxes.

This is NOT about using the internal QB's alignment feature.  Please do not respond with that information.

I understand this is happing to MANY.

I can print the 3 part 1099 fine ---- BUT THE TOP ONE IS TOO LOW AND THE BOTTOM ONE IS TOO HIGH.  ONLY THE MIDDLE ONE IS HITTING THE BOXES CORRECTLY.  So you can see that moving it up or down will only make one better while making the other worse.

So, QB's had a new form they needed to print to --- the new 3 party form.   But QB's did such a crap job on preparing for the new form, that it doesn't print WITHIN the form itself.

It's NOT an issue of not having the latest QB's update.   It's NOT an issue with the computer having Windows 11.  It is NOT an issue with the forms themselves.

IS QB'S WORKING ON FIXING THIS AND IF SO WHEN?   THE FORMS ARE DUE OUT BY THE 31ST.

It's like last year all over again, but with a new problem.

Anyone having this issue?  Anyone able to get this issue fixed?

I appreciate the steps you've performed to get your customized invoice to be aligned, @SusannaR

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps that can help us fix this. To start, use the coarse adjustments if you are using invoices, or forms purchased from Intuit.

Before doing so, make your continuous-feed printer is turned on, connected to your computer, and that the forms you want to print are in the printer's paper feed.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, then pick Printer Setup.
  2. Select Check in the Form Name drop-down.
  3. On the Printer type drop-down, choose Continuous (Perforated Edge).
  4. Click the Align, then the Coarse button. Hit OK on the pop-up message.
  5. Check the pointer line and note the number closest to the arrow points.
  6. Enter this number in the Pointer Line Position field, then OK

There is a link to an article that explains how to use QuickBooks' coarse adjustments and fine alignment adjustments: Align checks, invoices, and other forms for continuous-feed (dot matrix) printers

I've added this article, Print paychecks for the detailed steps. It provides several ways on how you can print checks in QuickBooks Desktop.

Let me know how this goes and leave a reply below. I'll be around if you need help printing 1099 forms in QBDT. Have a good one.

This is not a simple alignment issue.   The top prints too high.  The bottom prints too low.  Moving it up or down will only make one of the two worse.

I do not have a dot matrix printer.  I have the same printer I have used to print QB's forms for several years.   The issue is with the new 3 part form not lining up to the boxes on the form.      The top form is too high.  The middle is fine.  The bottom is too low.   I can't simply align the form up or down, as that will make one of them worse.  I understand that this is happening quite a bit to many users.

I am having the same issue.  Every year this same problem gets worse.  I will NOT be buying the new version.  Any recommendations for a better accounting program?

I am having the exact problem.  1st contractor fits perfectly but 2 & 3 are out of line and can not be used.  I have used a lot of paper but can't get it adjusted.  I have QuickBooks Online and it doesn't line up.  I would like to know if they have a fix for this immediately.  Will i get an answer?

I have the same 1099 - when I'm trying to print 3 on a page - if I line up the middle one, the top one is too low and the bottom one is too high.  I've spend so much time on this I may not get them done in time and face penalties.  Aggravation to the max.

It's your scale in adobe. It's either printing at 97% or something like that you need to go into the print settings and make sure it's printing at 100% scale
