Does anyone know if Excel 2019 is compatible with QB Desktop Pro 2019? I am about to upgrade to Desktop Pro 2019 and want to upgrade to MS Office 2019 at the same time. I thought I should check and make sure the two are compatible first. I found a thread that says QB 2017 & 2018 are not compatible with Excel 2019 but I can't find anything that says if QB DT Pro 2109 and Excel 2019 are compatible. Thanks!
Hello MandyAZPCP ! You can try Business Importer Desktop app. It imports excel doc from any version of MS Office into any version of QuickBooks Desktop since 2012. Hope, it will help you!
Hi there, MandyAZPCP.
Thanks for joining the Community. I'm here to share some information about the QuickBooks Desktop 2019 system requirements.
Microsoft Office 2010 and Office 2013, 2016, and 365 (including Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013) on both 32 and 64 bit are currently supported in QuickBooks Desktop 2019. However, Office and Excel 2019 are currently unsupported.
For more in-depth information about the system requirements, you can check out this great article: QuickBooks 2019 and Enterprise Solutions 19.0.
This should point you in the right direction. Leave a comment below if you have other questions. I'm always around to help.
Hello there, @Aussiebron.
Thanks for joining this conversation. Allow me to chime in and share some information about the compatibility of Excel 2019 to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
At this time, we don't have an exact time line as to when the Excel 2019 will be compatible with QBDT. But QuickBooks is constantly updating, rest assured that we will notify you through an email blast or next release. I'll also update you in this post once we get the update as well.
In the meantime, you can always check out the article provided by my colleague above for additional information about the QBDT system requirements.
This should answer your concern for today. Please mention me in the comment section if you have any other questions or if I can be of additional assistance. Have a wonderful day.
Just checking to be sure QBs hasn't forgotten about this.
Not being compatible with the latest Office version seems ridiculous.
I appreciate you for getting back to us here in the Community. Allow me to provide additional information about the Microsoft Compatibility in QuickBooks Desktop.
Before our engineers add the latest version of Microsoft Office to the software compatibility, they also consider the stability based on the improvements that they add. I'm personally taking note of your request regarding Microsoft Excel.
For now, you can follow the advice of my colleague to check on the article for any changes and updates. I recommend bookmarking the support link to the article as well, In case you need them in the future (scroll down to Software compatibility):
Thanks for coming to the Community, I'll keep an eye out for your response regarding the Excel version. I'm always up to lend a hand.
I just learned of this incompatibility when I tried to run Payroll Reports in Excel using my newest version of QuickBooks Pro (2019) on a new computer with Excel 2019. It's a major inconvenience for me - I had to do my reports by hand. I assumed when I bought QuickBooks Pro 2019 that it would be compatible with the most recent version of Excel. I don't understand why there isn't a timeline being given for when this issue will be resolved. Is it not a priority? I'd appreciate a response and any updates on the status.
I'm here to help and share some updates regarding running payroll reports via Excel in QuickBooks Desktop.
We're receiving reports that other users are getting this issue as well. We would like to inform you that this has already been escalated to our Payroll Team. While they do, I would advise you to reach out to our Payroll Specialists.

I'll pass along the issues you have to the appropriate channels so you're able to reach a point of resolution as quickly as possible. However, as soon as an update is received, I will be happy to update this thread and let you know so that you can get back to business.
For the meantime, you can run the report from previous quarters and when asked to update select "Yes". This way, you can pull all the data correctly. If that does not work clean install of QuickBooks and Excel are possible fixes.

Is this fixed yet? We're almost in 2020. If not, is there a way to export the reports in a compatible version of Excel, instead of a .csv file?
I'd like to share some updates regarding exporting reports via QuickBooks Desktop 2019.
For now, the most recent update that I have is that our Engineering Team is diligently working to determine why you're not able to export a report into Excel. We are still investigating this unexpected behavior.
In case you’ve not been added to the list of affected users, I'd suggest reaching out to our QuickBooks Desktop Support so they can get your account information and have them investigate further. Any progress will be communicated via email.
