How do I get the "new invoice experience" back?

Somehow my account got switched to the "old invoice experience" but I never asked for this. Now it seems impossible to switch back to the "new invoice experience"?

According to this article I should be able to switch back "any time"

If you decide you prefer the new experience, you can switch back any time:

  1. Select + New
  2. Select Invoice or Estimate
  3. Select Try the new invoices

However "try the new invoices" isn't an option for me. How do I fix this? The old experience is missing features that I rely on.

I'm here to make sure you can use the new invoice layout in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, @kitzy.

Know that the feature is only available for new QBO accounts. With that said, you need a new company file to utilize the new invoice experience feature.

If your company file is new, and it accidentally reverts to the Old layout, and the option to select the New invoice experience is unavailable, we can perform some steps to fix this.

There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes some errors or unusual responses. Let's start accessing your account using a different or a private browser. You can use either of these shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once you have successfully have the option to choose the new layout, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.

Moreover, I'll be sharing these links to help manage and personalize your invoices and other sales forms in QuickBooks:

You can also post here again if you have other questions about going back to the new invoice layout. I'll be more than happy to help you out again. Take care, and have a nice day.

Thanks for that.

I tried using an incognito window in Chrome, and I also tried using a private browsing window in Safari, but unfortunately I'm still not able to see the option to switch back to the new invoices. Is there something else I can try?

Yesterday I got an email from Intuit stating QBO invoicing is being updated, and the following message:  "We want to remind you about an invoice change that will affect your QuickBooks Online Simple Start customers beginning October 16, 2023. Other QuickBooks Online plans will follow over the next several months, and customers will be directly notified in advance of the changes via email."

This feature is not showing in my Simple Start company.  I watched a video link (below) that uses Sample company Craig's Landscape to demonstrate the feature, but when I go to sample company Craig's Landscape and create a new invoice, there is no change, no new feature..

It sounds like the Beta version rolled out in February, it didn't work and now it's fixed?  Watch your email.

I appreciate you sharing details of your concern, @Arif3.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that the new feature for QuickBooks Online (QBO) invoicing is being rolled out gradually. The email you received mentioned that the changes will first affect QBO Simple Start customers starting from October 16, 2023. Other QBO  plans will follow over the next several months, and customers will be notified in advance via email.

Regarding the discrepancy you noticed with the sample company Craig's Landscape, it's possible that the new feature is not yet available for that specific sample company. The rollout of features can sometimes be staggered, and it may take some time before all accounts, including sample companies, have access to the new feature.

It's also worth noting that the beta version of the feature may have been released earlier, encountered issues, and has since been fixed before the official rollout. I'd still suggest keeping an eye on your email for any updates or notifications regarding the new feature.

Additionally, you may want to explore this website to gather information about the most recent enhancements and advancements in QuickBooks: New features in QuickBooks.

Should you need any additional information or have any questions or concerns about the new feature, please leave a comment below. I'll be available to address them promptly.
