Thanks for getting back to the thread, Debbie. I understand the urgency and importance of this matter. Let me share how we can handle your concern about turning off the Products and Services column on the new invoice layout.
In QuickBooks Online, the option to hide the Products and Services column on the new invoice preference is unavailable. This option is available in the old experience. Since all users will be migrated to the new experience there will no longer be a way to return to Classic invoicing for any customers.
In this case, I encourage you to share your thoughts directly in the Feedback section within QuickBooks. That way, our QuickBooks Developer team can study further about this feature and may add it to future product updates. Your input will help us identify areas where improvements can be made.

Let's customize a custom invoice style together to suit your business needs, Debbie.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) allows you to customize the appearance and layout of sales forms such as invoices. This allows you to personalize them according to your preferences.
Here's how to create a custom invoice style in QBO:
After customizing the invoice style, create a new invoice and select the custom form style you have created. You can do this by going to the Design section on the right panel and choosing the template you've just created.
For more information on personalizing sales forms, you can check out this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
To generate reports and have a comprehensive invoicing summary, you can refer to this guide: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
Please feel free to drop any questions or concerns you have about invoicing in QuickBooks. I'm always ready to assist you, Debbie.
Your instructions apply only to the old invoice layout. The NEW mandated invoice layout that is in effect May 6 which does not allow the same customization features as the old, including the option to hide the Products and Services column on the customer's view.

We also need this to be available. Please!
Thank you for backing me up. I am greatly disappointed that QuickBooks made known to clients the product and services IDs that for years were for internal-use only, and that QB did not provide us with any work-around to avoid having clients see this detail on their invoices. Due to the fact that I cannot just stop invoicing via QuickBooks (i.e. manually generate invoices via another program) because our clients need to be able to pay invoices via QuickBooks, I'm left with no choice but the embarrassment of allowing the customers to view our internal "codes" for products and services.

This lack of customization is a REAL problem. Not only can't we "hide" the products and services, but the quantity and price are detailed as well. We had the option to give visibility for our clients to the Description and Total only - all the other details were for internal use only and will lead to confusion for our customers. We are having to rapidly revamp everthing we do - I'm not sure who this change benefits???
Same exact problem here. "Products and Services" is an internal code, not for our customers. The "new" forms are not ready and not acceptable. There is zero customization available, at least for what we need. They look like a beginner business attempt at a form. Do not discontinue the old forms, or it is just a money grab, since Intuit will try to get its customers to pay twice the cost (by upgrading) for the improved, customizable version. Intuit has enough reputation problems already.
I agree with you!
I agree with you!
This is a huge problem and concern for me as well. It creates extra work on my end when creating estimates now because I do not want the customers to see the qty. It used to be able to view only on my end and now I have to completely shut that feature off. If I need to order material now I have to revert back to my original hard copy paperwork. The only plus side to the new estimate feature is the ability to confirm if the customer has viewed it. QB please fix this.
I agree 100%! I am in the same situation. It is absolutely ridiculous that they force us to use these new templates but do not give us all the features we need. I am so sorry that I switched to this software. It is horrible!
Since this forum is incapable of tagging the person you’re replying to, I am responding to Larry’s comment:
Larry, I agree with you. This new invoice form style appears like something out of 1996 (somebody learning HMTL 2.0 using Netscape).
Did you notice during the "transition period" that QB made the old custom invoice form impossible to use by ruining the formatting to force us to change to the new "custom" invoice layout that isn't "custom" at all?
For example, I sent a VIP customer an invoice before the official May 6 date using the old invoice layout and the Description was spaced out a couple of words per line running over multiple pages with the Memo repeated on every page. It didn’t appear that way in my view when creating the invoice; it happened only when it was sent to the customer. There wasn’t anything I could do to fix that issue without switching to the new invoice layout. As a result I had to accept that the customer will now view my internal codes since QB won’t allow them to be hidden anymore (even though the Account Settings shows they are “turned off”). The Account Settings aren’t connected to the new invoice layout, that's just unacceptable.
Not only do we have to scramble to figure out the changes they made to the new invoice layout, but we have to figure out on our own how to re-work our own processes and information we need to show the customer. For example, finding where QB has hidden the Bills to attach to an invoice... under multiple layers (1) Manage, (2) Suggestions, (3) Suggested transactions, and then they've hidden the Bill # so all we can see is the Date and Total, until going through two more layers (4) click a white box to open a new Tab window, then (5) click the Bill link to open another Tab window to see the Bill #. When I'm instructed to send a Bill, I receive the Bill #, not the Date and Total which may be the same on multiple Bills for the same customer. My work-around is not the best as it can lead to human error, but it's a shortcut from 5 layers of detective work... I add every single bill listed in the suggestions to the invoice and remove which ones aren’t applicable to that invoice (this ONLY works if the Bill Description is specific enough to know which service it should be attached to). Unfortunately, sometimes the Descriptions aren't specific enough so I do have to go through the 5 layer-dip process to figure out which of the suggestions are for which Bill #.
Thanks for backing me up! I do wish QB hadn’t rolled out their new invoice layout without fixing these major bugs; it is causing a nationwide migraine for accounting teams.
Why is this showing solved, when indeed it has not been solved? Am I missing something?
have the same problem!
Hello there, @abraham.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Let me share insights about hiding the Product and Services column in your QuickBooks Online invoice.
The option to hide the Products and Services column in the new invoice preference is currently unavailable. However, this feature is accessible in the old experience. We value your feedback on any changes you have noticed. Our product development team will review your suggestion and may consider incorporating it into future updates. I can't believe this is Intuit's reply. What the heck? We absolutely do not want the Product/Service column displayed on customer-facing invoices. This naming scheme is totally internal and has been for over 20 years!
PLEASE FIGURE OUT A WAY TO UNDO THIS RIDICULOUS CHANGE!
Canned answer, no help at all!!!
Cannot believe there is no way to hide the products and Services Column.
I am looking for the thumbs down response button.
Please give us the option to hide products and services on new invoices. Please.
What more can we say?

I agree fully. I do not want my clients to see the product/service line item since they were internal notes for reference. I am having to rename several which ultimately becomes a duplicate of our description. I do feel like it is embarrassing to send it this way to clients. Quite unprofessional. Since the old version allowed us to have it off, why do we not have an option to turn off and on. Maybe other business it could make sense to use the product/service.
This has been going on for months now, is there any update at all? This is crazy. Why would we want our customers to see the products and services? When we call to complain you tell us to use the "give feedback" button, I do that and I never get a response and nothing changes.
FIX THIS!!!
We see the importance of having the option to hide the product and services column on your sent invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'm here to share a workaround you can follow.
In order to prevent your customers from seeing the product and services on their sent invoices, you will need to create a custom template that excludes these columns. Then, when sending an invoice, make sure to select this custom template instead of the default one to ensure that the product and services are not visible to the customer.
Here's how to create a custom template:
Here's how to choose the template before sending the invoice.
Here's how the PDF view of the invoice to your customer:
Additionally, after your customer pays their invoices, you can then record their payment in QBO.
