A/R statements on account are not donation statements. They don't show the right data.
QB will not create proper donor statements, but you can do it with our BRC Donor Statements - QB Online app. It uses your QB Online data to create statements with no additional data entry.
They are complete with your custom text messages, the detailed donations for the year, and even your address and your donors return addresses for mailing. Just fold them and mail them using windowed envelopes!

How about doing the same on QB Desktop Pro? Does anyone know?

Creating donor statements in QuickBooks Desktop will only take a few steps:
You can also pull up donor reports. Here's how:
If you want to customize reports, these articles can help:
Stay in touch with me if you got additional concerns.
We are a church and our donors donate to multiple funds. For an annual or quarterly statement, can those funds be broken down and reported on as well as the total in a giving report to the donor. We need to do this in batches , not just for an individual.
Thank you
I have followed the steps given to create a donation statement, however when I get to the Apply step, QB says
Let's get rid of the error so you create a statement to your customer, asettegast.
You can start by accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account via a private browser. This is a great way to isolate the issue since it doesn't store data in the cache. Here are the keyboard shortcuts below:
Once open, go back to the Customers tab from the Sales menu. Then, create your statements again.
If it works, clear cache and cookies on your regular browser. If not, I suggest using other supported browsers to isolate this issue.
If you're getting the same error, I recommend contacting our QBO Support Team. They can create a case and send it to our Product Team for further investigation.
I'm just a post away if you need anything else. Thank you and take care always!
We have the Non-Profit Edition and none of the things discussed here work. When I try to create statements for donors, it says that there are no invoices, payments, etc. Help?!?
Thanks for joining the thread and bringing this to our attention, @ChurchLady79.
Creating donor statements needs to have transactions under a specific donor. To isolate the issue, let's check if you've record invoices and payments for the donor.
Here's how:
If there's a transaction, try to create statement again. Ensure to select the Transaction Statement as the Statement Type.
To know more about donor statements, see this article: How to create single or multiple transactions statements for donors.
Please let me know how things go on your end. I want to ensure this gets resolve for you. Have a great day.
There are transactions showing under the Customer/Donor. I do not have an option for Transaction Statement. The standard statement does not pull donations on to it.

I have been chatting with them for almost an hour. They keep asking me to pay for support or use this forum! There has to be a way to print a statement of donations!!!!
Hello, @ChurchLady79.
Thanks for reaching back out to the Community. I've got you covered. Allow me to show you how to print a statement of donations.
It's a simple process. Follow the steps below.
Here's an article that can provide some additional details on this matter: Create a statement.
Let me know if this helps. I want to make sure all of your concerns are addressed. If you run into any trouble, just let me know. I'm only a few clicks away if you need me. Have a wonderful day!
That is what I do! It says that there is nothing to print. IT WILL NOT PULL ANYTHING ENTERED IN THE DONATIONS TAB. There are donations that show up on the transaction list for each customer/donor. They show up on the Donor Reports. They will not show up on Statements. It says "Nothing to print. No statements were created. There are no outstanding invoices, credit memos, or statement charges for the date range or additional options you selected. Change Statement period dates and try again."
Thanks for the quick reply, @ChurchLady79.
I'll bestow some fundamental troubleshooting steps. So you're able to print the customer's statement in QuickBooks Desktop.
But before that, make sure that the selected period in the statement page is the same on your transactions. That way, the donation statement will show up.
Once confirmed and still getting the error message, let's run the verify and rebuild data in your account.
Here's how:
If there is another problem, go back to the File menu, choose Utilities, and tap Rebuild Data. For more details, check out this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.
If the issue persists, you can visit this article for additional troubleshooting procedures: Troubleshoot PDF and Print problems with QuickBooks Desktop.
Additionally, ensure that your QBDT is in the latest release and the box with a balance less than is not empty. You can put it at 0.00. Doing this will help you fix your statement based on release notes.
Please browse these pages below about handling various reports, transactions, templates, and other topics.
You're always welcome to comment below if you have other questions about QuickBooks. I'll be here to help. Take care.
There is no problem when I verify data. I have the R14 update for QuickBooks Premier 2019. It will pull things entered as invoices. It will not pull things entered as donations (called sales receipts on the transaction list). I can pull it up as a report, but not a statement. I will have to address each envelope individually if I can't get a statement printed. That will be literally hundreds of them.
Thank you for the additional information, @ChurchLady79.
I also appreciate for performing the given troubleshooting steps above. Since it gives you the same result, the steps provided above by my colleague Nick_M will help you connect with our QuickBooks Desktop Support. That way this issue will get resolved right away. They have the proper tools to do screen sharing in a safe environment that will help you identify what’s causing this issue.
Also, you can use this article as a reference on what to do when you encounter an error when printing in PDF format: QuickBooks Print Repair Tool.
Please leave a comment below on how it goes. I want to make sure that this issue will get resolved. I’ll be waiting for your response. Have a good one.
After chatting online with a representative for over an hour yesterday, she quit responding to me.
After 25 minutes on the phone today, another representative quit answering me.
No one has an answer that they are willing to provide for free. I refuse to pay $70 or whatever it is for you to tell me how to print one thing! Customer Service has gotten so much worse since you started the offering QBO.
I need a Statement to show all transactions for customers/donors from QuickBooks Desktop Premier Nonprofit Edition. I do not need a report as that will require hand addressing hundreds of envelopes. Don't send me a link on how to create regular statements as those do not pull transactions entered under the donations tab (sales receipts). I do not need to verify/rebuild data as the transactions show up on reports. I have the latest R14 update. The workflow arrows show that you have the donations tab after the statements. Why is a Transaction Statement offer in QBO and not Desktop?
Hello there, @ChurchLady79.
I hope I can turn this experience around for you, and show you how to provide donation statements to your customers/donors.
QuickBooks Desktop also allows you to create statements. This shows the status of a customer's account at a particular point in time. Each line item represents sales transactions, credits, and payments.
Let me show you how:
You've got me here if you have further questions, I'll be around to help you out. Have a great Friday and weekend!
Again, using the create statements DOES NOT PULL ANYTHING ENTERED IN DONATIONS TAB. The items show up on the transaction list as Sales Receipts.
I am having the same problem
