QuickBooks premier plus desktop here. Having the same issue still and it's January 19th. On the phone with QuickBooks for 2 hours they were on able to fix the problem. When can we expect this to be resolved? There is no such thing as a two up 1099 form NEC. They are all three ups.
However the 1099 misc is a two up. This needs to be resolved.
I'll make sure that you'll be able to print the form, shannonz.
You'll want to try the other troubleshooting procedures listed in this article: Print 3-part 1099s in QuickBooks Desktop. If you're still experiencing the same problem after performing the the steps, I'd still recommend review your setup and investigate why you're unable to print in 3 part Form 1099. Here's how to get in touch with us:

I am still only getting 2 per page. I followed the update instructions to the letter and restarted the program, even the PC, and still cannot get 3 per page. I followed the contact us and spoke to someone from Quickbooks who took my information on the license and update, then told me someone would call back. I've heard nothing. I guess I need to go back an toss out the 3 per page forms I bought and order the forms from Quickbooks. This is very upsetting as I ended up updating to Quickbooks 2021 as I was told that my 2016 was outdated and the prior problems I had were due to the old software.
Frustrated and still trying to avoid haviing to "give in" and buy their forms....
Where do you even get to this part of aligning? It walks me through the process and creates the 1099s but still only allows 2 - I do not see anywhere that allows me to do what you wrote above on making the changes to the alignment. I have the desktop version. Where is this integral part of the csolution?
In QB Desktop, go to File, Printer Setup, then choose [removed] in the Form Name box (it's the first option and you have to scroll up to see it). Click on Align and you can adjust where it prints on the page. (If you try to print a sample and QB crashes, just go back in and align anyway, based on what you printed.) My 1099 NEC's are printing fine now from QB Desktop. Good luck!
That worked! Thank you! I spent so much time trying to find this !
Hi @JimCT.
Let's start with making sure you have the correct release and version of your QuickBooks 2021. If it isn't updated to R8_(62+) you'll still be seeing a 2 per page 1099.
To confirm which release you have, hit the F2 button when logged in to QuickBooks, this opens the Product Information screen, look at the release version extension...it'll be the underscore and a number.
If your product release/version is lower than R8_62, you’ll need to update your QuickBooks.
It’s important to make sure to update QuickBooks to the latest release. I've outlined the steps below:
Once you’ve gone through the update process, hit F2 again and confirm the release version and extension has updated. If not, try updating again.
A few things to keep in mind:
Let me know how it goes! I'm here to make sure we get this resolved for you. I'm just a quick click away!
You will need to upgrade to a new Quickbooks version for the new 3 part forms. Be careful as I had to purchase 2021 and it caused me to need a newer operating system which was a lot to have to deal with.
The newer version of Qbooks provides the correct formatting but also required I update my operating system. I do accounting for 26 companies so it was worth it for me.
None of this clearing cache nonsense has worked. How do I print so it has the same contractor one page?!!!!!!
I know that this hasn't been easy for you, rishi123.

I can't get to the Print 1099s screen. I am in Prepare 1099s and it allows me to view the 1099, but I can't align them to 3 per page.
Welcome to the thread, OutdoorAdv.
I'm here to help you with your 1099 printing alignment.
When printing 1099 in QuickBooks, you can only align forms that are purchased directly from Intuit. Thus, if you didn't purchase the form from Intuit, you can't align them as we don't support alignment troubleshooting. You can refer to this article for more details: Order 1099 and 1096 forms.
But if you're using QuickBooks Online-compatible 1099 forms, you can go to the Fine-tune alignment page to adjust your form alignment.
Here's how:
After that, try printing your 1099 and see if it aligns. If not, I'd recommend following the remaining steps from this article: Print your 1099 forms.

Hi
what did you do to make it work - 3 on each page and correctly lined up? - can you help me?
Thanks for joining this conversation, @pc26. I'll make sure you can print your 1099 forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
There are also times when a browser's cache data becomes full from frequent access to web pages or is damaged. This causes unexpected behavior when printing the 1099 NEC form in QBO.
To better isolate this issue, let's try signing in to your account using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues. To save you time, use either of these keyboard shortcuts:
If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to get a clean slate for your browser. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.
If printing still doesn't work on these recommended browsers, try these steps.
Chrome:
If it still doesn't align, on the print window, select the dropdown for More Settings to verify Fit to printable area or Fit to paper is not selected in the Scale dropdown.
Firefox:
When downloading as a PDF, if Adobe is not the application that opens the document:

completey unacceptable QB!! It is not possible to print my 1099's since you...being accounting software....should be up to date with the IRS swithcing to 3 recipients per page and NOT 2!!! Pathetic. This should have been resloved.
that did not work!
Honestly having the opposite problem. Trying to print 2 per page for our forms and it keeps printing 3. Very frustrating.
Allow me to share some information about your 1099-NEC, SherBrew.
Normally, the behavior of printing 3 pages for your 1099-NEC form is already the standard requirement for IRS. This means this isn't an issue in your part. You may also take a look at the Checks & Supplies website, still, it's printing 3 pages. I've added a screenshot for your guide:

When completing forms for 1099 NEC, the box, "State Tax Withheld" is in the field and does not allow for it to be changed to Non-Employee Compensation from State Tax Withheld. How do I get that to change in NEC?
Thanks for joining us here, @lizsem.
I'll share some information about changing the State Tax Withheld field. This field is an auto-filled section. You'll want to make sure you've correctly categorized your payments. This way, the form will pick up the info to be filled in boxes 5 and 6 State Tax Withheld. Let me guide you how.
With the above steps, you're able to correct the State Tax Withheld section and e-file the form. For more information, check out these articles below.
