I upgraded to Quickbooks & TurboTax self-employed bundle in 2021. My account shows my subscription continues to be automatically renewed and charged monthly. When I was ready to file my annual Federal and State tax today, I was charged ($150) TurboTax fees to file. When I live chatted with TurboTax today to ask, I was told the subscription ended in 2021. what is going on? I don’t feel I should be charged for filling my annual taxes since I been paying the monthly subscription. I was never informed of the subscription not being offered anymore.
Let me share what I know and make sure we address your concerns for today, elmo6215.
The Tax Bundle is a subscription for both QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed. This allows you to easily send your Schedule C data to TurboTax so you can file your taxes.
Additionally, the bundle subscription will waive the federal filing fees, plus one state return. Just make sure to use the same username and password as you log in to both your QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed accounts.
For more details about the bundle subscription, you can check out this article: Upgrade to the QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed bundle.
I also suggest contacting our Support Team to help you check your account and review those charges.
Feel free to let me know if you still have follow-up questions or any tax-related concerns. I'm always here to help. Have a great day!
When I spoke to customer care I was told that because I file 1099, even though I pay for it - I do not get to file for free.f I already paid the $89 but will think twice before subscribing again to this mess.
When I subscribed to the bundle in 2021, it didn’t allow me to use the same TurboTax username so my Quickbooks self-employed’s username is my email address but password for both accounts are the same.
When I upgraded to the bundle, it didn’t allow me to use my existing TurboTax username and so the account was setup with my email instead. Password to log in both accounts is the same. If the problem is related to my login not matching between the two accounts, will I still get refunded on the fees charged for my annual tax filing?
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing details on how upgrading to the bundle subscription works in QuickBooks Self Employed. Then, ensure you'll be able to achieve this matter without any issues.
The Tax Bundle is a subscription for both QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed. Then, a bundle subscription will waive the federal filing fees, plus one state return. For this to work, you'll have to use the same username and password as you log in to both your QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed accounts. However, even if your sign-in info is the same, you still may need to sign in to TurboTax. If you don't have a TurboTax account yet, we'll help you create one. Then, if your TurboTax and QuickBooks Self-Employed sign-in info is different, you can follow these steps to send your data to the correct account.
On the other hand, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Self Employed Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment which we're unable to do it here in the Community. That way, they'll be able to inform you about the refund process.
Lastly, you may refer to this article this article on how the QBSE is designed to help you record your self-employed income and expenses, track mileage, and prepare your Schedule C: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview.
I'll be right here to continue helping if you have further questions regarding this upgrade. Assistance is just one post away. Stay safe!
"It looks like there's some kind of promotional pricing for filing early with TurboTax. I think that might actually have something to do with the fact that the Quickbooks + Turbo Bundle customers are unable to file for free.
I'm no software engineer, but if this promotional pricing was set to overwrite the prices for people who want to file early and within the promotional period, it's very possible that this is just a glitch that overwrites what should be "$0" for Quickbooks customers.
I was able to file for free for the last few years for $0 after being a Quickbooks customer, so I think this is just a momentary glitch that will work itself out after February 28."
I posted this a few weeks ago, and it looks like that was the exact cause of this bug. Because the promotional pricing period is now over (and because this promotional price no longer overwrites our bundle's $0 price), you are now able to file for $0.
Has anyone been successful in actually getting their Federal filing and one state filing fee waived or refunded? What's the point of paying the $25/mo if they aren't going to honor part of what is being paid for?
What if you’re not subscribed to the bundle for the whole year? How many months do you need to be subscribed to get the tax bundle? Or do you have to be subscribed only in December
Hi there, @Slowbooksselfemplo.
Thanks for joining the thread. I'll be happy answer these questions for you.
You don't necessarily need to subscribe to any months in order to get the Tax Bundle. If you wish to upgrade your subscription, you can do it anytime. That way, you can easily send your Schedule C data to TurboTax and file your taxes.
Here's how to upgrade your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) subscription:
To avoid overlapping payments, you may want to upgrade after your current QBSE subscription ends.

OK, I really do not understand. I am subscribed to the QB & TT bundle on my iPhone. If I log into my intuit account online, it shows that I have these two products. I used a new email address for this and made sure everything matched and didn't conflict with an old account. When I go to Quickbooks I can do Quickbooks things, but when I go to TurboTax, it just tries to sell me a license, I don't seem to have access to any TurboTax things. Same thing on the phone, if I open the TurboTax app it just tries to sell me a license. Does this bundle not provide the interface needed to prepare a return? Is this just about spitting out one stupid schedule C, which I guess we can't get wrong because we don't get a second shot? And waiving the filing fee?
Hello there, @milnor. I’m happy to know you’re considering using the bundle program. I'll make sure you get back on track with managing your account and taxes in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).
The Tax Bundle is a combined QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed subscription. This makes it simple to send your Schedule C data to TurboTax and file your taxes.
You'll need to make sure the login credentials are correct. Since you want to use the account you currently use for QBSE to sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed.
For you to check if the two accounts have different credentials, you can review this article: Send your info to TurboTax.
I'd also suggest you reach out to our support team to verify your subscription details. They have the tools to look into your account and explain further about bundle taxes and why you can't log in to your account.
Here's how:
Once everything is on the right track, you can now send your data to TurboTax Self-Employed.
If you want to reset your account and update the billing information within the system, you can also refer to this article: Update your billing and subscription info in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
Let me know if you have any other clarifications about managing your QBSE account. I'll be here to assist you. Enjoy your day!
Why is y'all's first guess always that the customer must be doing it wrong? It's kind of insulting.
* I am subscribed to the bundle through my iPhone
* I am using the same credentials for both TurboTax and Quickbooks. It shows me both products when I log in with those credentials.
* When I go to Quickbooks all the Quickbooks stuff works. It clearly has my subscription.
* When I go to TurboTax, through the same interface, it only lets me buy a license.
What am I missing?
I can share some information about subscribing to Tax Bundle in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), @milnor.
Could you please check the version of TurboTax you're attempting to access? When you subscribe to QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed bundle, you will be able to make an online payment for federal estimated quarterly taxes, file faster because you can export your Schedule C directly to TurboTax, e-file one state and one federal return without paying filing fees, and receive a free TurboTax Self-Employed account.
Just make sure to use the same login credentials when you log in to TurboTax Self-Employed. Check out this article for more information about the Tax bundle: Upgrade to the QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed bundle.
When you're ready to file your taxes, refer to the following article on how to review your tax checklist in QBSE and then send and review your info to TurboTax: Send QuickBooks Self-Employed tax info to TurboTax Self-Employed or Live.
Let me know if you have further questions about your Tax bundle by leaving a comment below. Keep safe, and have a great rest of the day!
I'm beginning to think you aren't going to answer my question. You see in the screenshot below? It says I have two products, QBSE and TT. On the same Intuit account. If, under "go to your products" I click on the QBSE link, it takes me to QBSE and I can access my data. If I click on "TurboTax" right under that, it takes me to a process to purchase a license for TurboTax. I'm not trying to access a specific version because it doesn't think I have one, even though I'm subscribed; it never gets to that point. Does the bundle not include a license for TurboTax? Does it not include the functionality to fill out my 1040? Where do I enter my 1099s and W-2s from other income? Why is this question so hard to understand?
Hello, milnor.
Thanks for getting back to us. Allow me to jump in and help ensure this is taken care of for you.
Yes, it does. The bundle includes a license for TurboTax. As mentioned by my colleague above, the Tax Bundle is a combined QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and TurboTax Self-Employed subscription.
Since it is not allowing you to access your TurboTax account, I highly suggest contacting our Support team. They have tools such as screen-sharing (remote access) that can pull up your account in a secure environment and check the cause of this odd behavior. They can also perform other troubleshooting steps if necessary.
To reach them, you can follow the steps shared by my colleague DebSheenD above or refer to this article: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support. Our Support team is available M-F 6 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 6 AM to 3 PM PT.

Good evening,
I am subscribed to this bundle and do not have the option to send my tax info from QuickBooks Self-Employed to TurboTax. Multiple answers discuss clicking "Tax Checklist" near the top of the homepage but I do not have this option. Please assist, thank you.
qbcHello, SlowRaker. Let's check if this is due to your browser issue, which has no option to click the Tax Checklist in QuickBooks Online.
Have you tried accessing your account using an incognito or private browsing window? This will allow you to test if the issue is related to your browser's cache or extensions. When you use incognito browsing, your browser doesn't save your search history, cookies, or site data, which can sometimes interfere with accessing certain websites.
To open an incognito window, you can typically use the shortcut key:
To check if you have the option for the tax checklist, open the incognito window and access your account's login page. If you can access it without issues, the problem may be related to your browser settings or extensions. In this case, I recommend clearing your browser's cache and cookies. This can help resolve any issues due to outdated or corrupted data stored in your browser. If that doesn't work, you could use a different browser altogether. Some popular options include Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Remember that other browsers use various rendering engines and may handle websites or applications differently. Switching to a different browser may help you identify and resolve the issue.
However, If you have followed the troubleshooting steps but still face the same issues, the problem is more complex or requires specific expertise. In such a scenario, I would recommend that you get in touch with our customer support team. Our support staff is trained to handle a wide range of issues and will be able to provide you with the necessary assistance to resolve the problem. They can guide you through the process and provide detailed steps to solve the issue most efficiently.

I have attempted all of the above. Multiple browsers and incognito mode. I called the help desk and the customer service rep informed me the option will be available the third or fourth week of January. With my 1099 quarterly taxes due on the 15th of January, how can I wait until the 3rd or 4th week?
I'm paying a monthly fee for the small-business bundle that states in the advertising there is an ability to send tax information from QuickBooks Self-Employed to TurboTax. There does not appear to be any such option.
Same situation for me this year.

So which Turbo Tax service is covered with the Quickbooks bundle?
Thanks for joining the thread, @Sandi81. I'd be pleased to provide information about TurboTax Self-Employed.
It's an app designed for contractors and self-employed individuals to track only their business taxes. Also, the Tax Bundle includes both QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and TurboTax Self-Employed. This provides a convenient way to send your Schedule C data to TurboTax, making it easier to file your taxes.
