Hello there, finance8.
The My Accountant tab is only available in the United States (US), Canada, United Kingdom (UK), and Australia. You might have signed up for QBO account on a different region.
You can sign up for another account with the correct country.
You can change the country by scrolling down on the page and clicking the Select a Country tab. Please see screenshot for your guide.
Feel free to post here again. Have a great day.
I don't have this tab either, where can I find it?
Nat.
Thanks for joining this thread, @natalie4.
Yes, @Adrian_A is correct. The My Accountant tab is only available on the specific countries mentioned by my peer above.
Just to verify, are you using the international version of QBO? If so, there isn't an option to see this tab.
If you're using the supported versions, you can find this tab from the left menu of your account. Please see the screenshot below to serve as your visual reference.
For more information about this tab, here'a great article you can refer to: How to Use the My Accountant Tab.
I'll be around to help if you have follow-up questions about this or should you need anything else, @natalie4. Have a good day.
I am in the US and I do not have an Accountant Tab. How can I get it?
Hey there, @CherylWieczorek
Welcome to the Community, congrats on your first post! I can certainly help get you on the right track.
Let's give your browser a clean slate by clearing the cache and cookies. Clearing the cache and cookies for the browser is essentially like turning the browser on and off. The data collected can sometimes prevent QuickBooks from performing the best.
Here's how:
If you are using Internet Explorer, Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox, you can quickly clear cache with a keyboard shortcut. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete at the same time on the keyboard to open the window. For a mac, use Shift + Command + Delete.
I'll be waiting for your response so we can get to the bottom of this together, thanks for reaching out.
Is The Accountants menu tab available in Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2019? If yes, how can I enable? I am in the USA.
Hello there, merlidatorres.
The Accountant menu for QuickBooks Desktop is available for accountants subscription. For us to see this option and you're a bookkeeper or accountant, we can get an accountant version. There are specific features that are applicable for you.
If you have an accountant that's using QuickBooks, we can send them an Accountant's copy. We can use this reference for more details on how it works and use the copy.
Let me know if you need more help. Thanks!
I am the book keeper on account.
Hi, My Accountant tab is missing in QB-online. I use this tab on a daily basis and it was there yesterday.
Can you tell how I can get it back?
Thank you in advance,

This past week I logged in and the My Accountant tab down the left side of the screen was missing. My customers and I use this to transfer information securely back and forth. My customers upload their monthly bank statements here for me and the tab is missing. I have gotten around it by sending them a Client Request, but for those that aren't as adept at using the functionality of QBO this is not working out real well. I hope with the new updates you're not taking this tab away.
Hello _ I am the bookkeeper and owner of 2019 desktop version. I would like to manage projects and tasks and I understand My Accountant will help me create projects and tasks. I cannot find this on my program version. Could you please assist?

You and your accountant can go over this together that way they can help you create the jobs and tasks the correct way.

Hi there, @teanea. Thanks for joining the thread.
In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can see the Accountant menu on the top menu bar.
The My Accountant menu that the above thread refers to is for QuickBooks Online (QBO), a different version of QuickBooks. Please also know that the Accountant menu for QBDT is available for accountants subscription.
In case you'd want to change your QBDT edition from a specific industry to another, you can check this article for a guide: Toggle to another QuickBooks edition.
Please don't hesitate to comment below if you have questions or need further assistance. I'd be around to help. Have a nice day.
Thank you for following up with us, @teanea.
As mentioned by MirriamM above, the Accountant tab in QuickBooks Desktop is only available to the users that were subscribed to QuickBooks Desktop Accountant. Since you're using the regular version of QuickBooks, the option is not available on your end.
If you want to use the accountant version of QuickBooks, you can install and activate it. To get started, you can open this link: https://downloads.quickbooks.com/app/qbdt/products.
To get started with QuickBooks Desktop Accountant, you can check out the topics from this link: Find QuickBooks help articles for QBDT Accountant.
Please let me know how else I can help you with QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Keep safe!
This should not be this hard. I have spent hours and hours talking to many different people at Intuit. I already knew that I needed an accountants version of desktop - but was told I wouldn't need that. I just needed to be added as an external accountant (even though I'm the CFO). Why would your CFO not want to see the accountants tab and have access to the added features? Absolutely ridiculous. And, of course, when you are set up as the external accountant, you lose full access.
Anyway - after paying an additional $850 bucks to become a pro advisor and get the accountant's desktop version, I'm still having problems because that version and the version my company is already using doesn't match. What the heck Intuit? Why is it that I, and so many other people, know more than the people actually working at Intuit???
It isn't the kind of experience that we want you to come across, Sandi333.
Since the error persists even after purchasing the Accountant version, you can run some data checkup to verify fatal errors on program. Here's how:
If you see a specific error message, you can search for it in our QuickBooks Desktop support site for specific ways to resolve it. If you see Your data has lost integrity, it indicates data damage. That said, you'll have to rebuild the program to correct the problem.
You can do that by Selecting Rebuild Data under Utilities on the File menu.
If the issue persists, I'd recommend reaching out to our Phone Support team to have this investigated.
Once everything's fine, you can check this article for more information about the accountant's copy: Use the Accountant's Copy.
Keep me posted as to how things work on your end. Stay safe!
I did select the country USA still I don't see Accountant tab in my Desktop version of Pro Plus.
Hello Khanjan!
Thanks for joining this thread. Let me explain why you don't have the Accountant menu on your QuickBooks Desktop.
There are different versions of the QuickBooks Desktop for Windows. These are Enterprise, Pro, Premier, and QuickBooks Desktop Accountant. The QuickBooks Desktop Accountant is designed for accountants and this is the only version that has the Accountant menu.
You'll want to purchase the accountant version by clicking this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/accountants/products-solutions/accounting/desktop/.
Also, check these links if you need more self-help articles and how to set up your company in QuickBooks Desktop:
I'm more than happy to work with you again. Let me know if you need more help in navigating QuickBooks Desktop and I'll get back to you again.
I am having a hard time with not being able to have the Account tab. I am the admin on my company’s quickbooks and have full access to everything. I am trying to undo reconciliation and I am not allowed. Our accountant is busy so I am trying to get my quickbooks out of the negative. And to do that I need to i reconciliation back a few months because I had to edit some of the accounts. Help please.
Hello there, @Wardogsmith.
I'm here to share some information about the undoing reconciliations in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Just to confirm, are you using the QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) version? If so, you have the option to undo a reconciliation. Here's how:
1. Go to the Gear icon at the top and pick Reconcile under the Tools column.
2. On the Reconcile an account page, select History by account.
3. On the History by Account page, click the Account and Report period to locate the reconciliation to undo.
4. Choose Undo on the Action column, then Yes.
5. In the final confirmation window, pick Undo and OK.
On the other hand, if you don't have this option, it's possible that you're not using QBOA. If that's the case, you can edit the transaction manually to undo the reconciliation.
Here's how:
1. Go back to the Gear icon at the top, then pick Chart of Accounts under Your Company column.
2. Locate the appropriate account for the transaction and select View Register in the Action column.
3. Identify the transaction to edit.
4. In the reconcile status column (indicated by a checkmark, repeatedly click the top line of the transaction to change the status, then Save.
For your reference, you can also check out this article for further guidance: How to unreconcile a transaction or undo a reconciliation.
Most importantly, if you need to invite your accountant, I've got this article on how to add them to your QuickBooks Online account. With this, your accountant can review your books, make corrections, and work with you on any problems if they have access to your business: Add accountant users in QuickBooks Online.
Never hesitate to come back here. We are always ready to assist you, especially with reconciliation concerns. Keep safe.
