Toggle to another QuickBooks edition

Learn how to switch to another version of QuickBooks Desktop.

QuickBooks Premier and Enterprise Solutions lets you change your QuickBooks Desktop edition from one industry to another.

These are the Industry-specific Editions you can toggle from and to:

  • General

  • Accountant

  • Contractor

  • Manufacturing & Wholesale

  • Nonprofit

  • Professional Services

  • Retail

  • Pro (not available in QBESA/QBES)

Switch to another edition

  • Select Help, and then choose Manage My License.

  • Choose Change to a Different Industry Edition.

  • Select the industry edition you want to switch to.

QuickBooks will take a few moments and will launch in the version you select.

Switch QuickBooks Accountant or QuickBooks Enterprise Accountant to another edition

  • Select File, and then select Toggle to Another Edition.

  • Choose the edition, then select Next.

  • Select Toggle.

QuickBooks will take a few moments and will launch in the version you select.

If you can't select an edition and it's unavailable, you'll need to Repair QuickBooks. This will replace damaged QuickBooks components and its installation files.

If you still have problems when you try and toggle, install QuickBooks Desktop again.
