If you subscribed to Basic or Enhanced Payroll, you'll be charged $2 fee per employee at the end of each month. And if you create backdated paychecks, you'll get charged for that, too.

Price increases are inevitable. It happens to any business. It's not just for profit, you know. Given how the technology and regulation change, it's one way for the business to stay compliant with the government and all.

Hi,

Welcome to the community. Could you be a bit more specific? Like what versoin or edition of QuickBooks you are using?  When do you get this messsage?

Annual Subscription Charges

Am using Pro 2016; was charged over $400 TWICE last year. I caught the mistake and was reimbursed.

My problem is, I cannot get a straight answer from Intuit as to exactly WHAT am I paying for. What's more, I purchased "Enhanced Payroll" with the 2016 software. It seems now, Intuit wants to charge me $400 a year, so that I can create my 941 reports, as well as W2's. Plus, the "per employee" charges every month. I feel these charges are quite excessive.

Hi,

The 2016 edition is single user?

Please call up this number [removed]. Its the Support number.

Yes, I am a single user. And, when I DO question the person at support, I do not get a clear explanation.

I understand that businesses are in place to make money. However, updates USED to come on a 3.5" floppy (remember those?!) at $30/year. I understand the cost of doing business has gone up over the last twenty years. What I do NOT understand is why Intuit is charging EXHORBITANT prices in order for me to produce Federal forms.

It is simply price gouging.

In the past, dialing that support number has done nothing for me. Tell me, would YOU keep dialing that number, just to hear somebody whom you can barely understand, try to explain something they, themselves, don't understand?!

Hi,

I just called and pressed the choices 1 and then 1 again. I got my querry answered fine.

Comming back to your question please open your company file and on the top menu choose Company. In the drop down menu choose My Company. In the window that opens please click on Sign In (top right corner).

Sign In with your account details into your account. If you do not have an INTUIT account then using the same email id you used while purchasing your QB Pro 2016 Single User edition create one.

Once you have done either of the above and logged into your account you can see your subscriptions and what you have been charged for.

Await your response.

Okay, I can see my monthly billings per employee; what are these charges based on? Why is it $8.66 one month and $21.64 the next?

Also, what is the over $400/year charges for?! THAT is what I need answered

Hi,

I hope you found the info use full. As for what you have been billed $21.64 and $400 for? Well there will always be a detail in front of these figures or below it which will detail out what you paid the sums for.

Interesting...there is no "Don't Accept Solution" button.

I'm glad I'm not you; I would NEVER want to work for a company like Intuit.

I am glad I am close to retirement; I won't have to put up with THIS BS anymore!

What a shame...shame on Intuit

Greetings, @olaacc.

I'll get you on the right tracking to cancelling your subscription. If you're using QuickBooks Desktop, you can cancel the annual subscription from the CAMPS website. I'll guide you through the process below:

1. Follow the link above to open the CAMPS website, and sign in with your Intuit credentials.

2. Select QuickBooks Desktop from the list of your products.

3. Find the subscription you'd like to cancel and click the link. Select Cancel Service in the top-right of the screen.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to suspend the service.

You'll find more information on managing your QuickBooks products using the account management portal at this link. If you're using QuickBooks Online, the process works a little differently. I'll list the steps for cancelling your QBO subscription below:

1. From within QuickBooks Online, click the Gear (⚙) icon > Account & Settings.

2. Navigate to the Billing & Subscription tab.

3. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel and walk through the on-screen instructions to suspend the service.

There's also an article at the link here you may find helpful for cancelling your QBO account. With this information, stopping that subscription will be a breeze. If you run into any obstacles, the QuickBooks support team will be happy to lend a hand. Just follow the link, select your product, and choose a problem type to find their contact information. I'm always here in the Community to help with your QuickBooks needs as well. Thanks for reaching out, and have a wonderful rest of your day.

You should only have an annual subscription if you have basic there should be no monthly charges for checks if you have enhanced they will charge you per employee per check

I am also being charged $400 now twice a year. That is unbelievable. As well, when I called Intuit about being charged an additional 2 years, NOW, for online backup from old version and online backup, I was told I would no longer be charged once I was on the annual renewal but i was and still am. They never fixed it. They would not go back and reverse the charges which is robbery. So I am dealing with being charged semi annual, which was not in the agreement, and still being charged separately for 9.95 monthly as well. Can someone please tell me how they can do this and why they wont reverse charges and or it is still occurring? I am afraid to lose online backup. I wish i had never switched to annual renewal. So frustrated.

So how about this----we renewed our QB subscription in March 2019. We renewed our Payroll module in January 2019. Now we are receiving messages that effective May 31st, our Payroll module will no longer work. Then why did they renew it? Called customer support----an hour and a half later, no answers as to whether we need to upgrade our QB or our payroll module, and of course nobody knows if they are going to refund the money we just spent to renew something they suddenly do not support  (because upgrading is going to cost us more money).

Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Hi @fraidknots and @grrrthisprogrammakesmemad,

We value your time in doing business with us. We don't want you to feel that way.

However, here in the Community, we don't have the ability to look into the charges in your accounts for security reasons.

With this, I'd still recommend contacting our Customer Care Support. They have the tools needed to look up into and pull up your accounts in a secure environment.

They can also investigate the charges on your accounts, why and how it happens.

It'll be always my pleasure to lend a hand if you have any other questions.

I have the desktop version (2017) and I got a charge for the online service which I do not use.  I had signed up for it last year and canceled it immediately as I did not like its functionality.  I have not used it since. I want an immediate refund of my $323.

Thanks for joining this thread, @THX1138.

I appreciate you for providing a screenshot. However, I've removed the attachment to secure your business information.

Let's get the help you need to request for a refund on a cancelled service that you're still charged for.

I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team so they can pull up your account in a secure environment. They'll be able to check your current subscription and see how they can process the refund for you.

They can also proceed with the necessary steps to stop the online service charges moving forward. Just a heads up, you can chat with them from Mon-Fri, 5AM-5PM PST.

Here's how to get in touch with them:

  1. Go to this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Select your current subscription.
  3. Click Continue as guest.
  4. Select your QuickBooks Desktop version.
  5. Click Search for something else.
  6. Enter a brief discussion of your concern, then click Search.

  7. Click Start a Message.

I've also added this article for additional information: What is this Intuit charge on my credit card statement? This page provides a chart to help determine which credit card charges from Intuit.

Also, please know I'm always around to help with any QuickBooks Desktop issues you may be having. Don't hesitate to leave a comment below and I'd be glad to help.

Annual Subscription Charges

Hello, CapiliaMadison.

I'll provide a brief overview on the subscription charges. I'll also direct you to the team who can check the details of your billing and the benefits that go along with it.

We have an annual subscription for our QuickBooks products. For example, the QuickBooks Desktop Payroll or the subscription-based Desktop platform. We continuously update and ensure these products cater to your business needs.

However, I do recommend contacting our support channel for the breakdown of your subscription charges (we're unable to access your billing details in a public space). They'll be able to see your billing details and tell you the benefits and the services that go along with your products.

You can follow the steps provided by Jen_D. If you're using a different product, you can check this article for the steps on how to contact our dedicated support: Contact QuickBooks products and services Support.

If you need help doing a specific process in QuickBooks, you can browse articles from a specific topic in our general support page. Select a product under Topics for

I'm willing to listen again if you have any other concerns in QuickBooks. Just leave the details here and I'll get back to you.

Thanks for joining the Community, lornahb.

Your subscription renewal amount will be specified in the Admin user's notification email. Additionally, it can be found while resubscribing.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Use the Gear (⚙️) icon.
  3. Under Your Company, choose Account and settings.
  4. Access your Billing & Subscription tab.

From here, you can see the price for renewing. If you're prepared to renew your subscription, click Resubscribe, enter the updated billing information, and select Subscribe.

After resubscribing, you'll need to log out, then sign in again:

  1. Once you're back, use your Gear (⚙️) icon.
  2. Choose Account and settings.
  3. Open the Billing & Subscription screen, then review your Next charge date.

If it's a past date, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment and prevent any back-billed charges from occurring.

I've additionally included a detailed resource about managing subscriptions that may come in handy moving forward: How to manage your billing & subscriptions

I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have a lovely Thursday!
