Why won't my "Reactivate Payroll Subscription" update?

My main goal is to ensure you can reactivate payroll and continue using the service, CJBH. I'll provide the steps to fix this.

 

First, I'd like to know if you encounter any errors when reactivating payroll. May I know where you see the subscription is active? It'll help us investigate the cause of the issue and provide accurate steps to rectify this. Adding a screenshot would be a great help, too.

 

To troubleshoot the issue, ensure you are running a supported version of QuickBooks Desktop and that the program is updated to the latest release. It is essential, as outdated versions can cause reactivation issues.

 

Then, reactivate the payroll subscription again. Once done, the process will take up to 24 hours to fully complete (it'll show Active after).

 

If the issue persists, I suggest refreshing your payroll information on the system. Then, re-enter your payroll service key. Here's how: 

 

  1. Go to Employees and then select My Payroll Service.
  2. In the QuickBooks Service Keys windows, choose Edit. Make sure to take note of the service key.
  3. Remove the payroll service key. Select Next.
  4. When the Payroll Update message appears, choose OK.
  5. Verify the Service Status shows Active and then hit OK.

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Help tab at the top menu bar and select QuickBooks Desktop Help,
  2. Choose Contact Us and enter the necessary information.
  3. Press Get a callback.

 

However, if you're using QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Enhanced or Basic, please follow these steps:

 

  1. In your QuickBooks Desktop company file, go to Employees and select My Payroll Service.
  2. Click Account/Billing Info.
  3. Sign in using your Intuit Account login, then your QuickBooks Account page will open.
  4. Under Status, choose Resubscribe.
  5. Follow the on-screen steps to reactivate your payroll service.

 

If the status of your payroll subscription is active, we need to validate your service key by following the steps below:

 

  1. Close all your company files and restart your computer.
  2. Open QuickBooks, go to Employees, select My Payroll Service, then select Manage Service Key.
  3. Your Service Name and Status should be correct and will show as Active.
  4. Select Edit, and verify the service key number. If incorrect, enter the correct service key.
  5. Select Next, uncheck the Open Payroll Setup box, then select Finish.

I re entered my credit card info and It still says i am inactive .  i turned off program and restarted and it still does not reactivate

Another option, switch to a 3rd party payroll app and they can help to convert data from Enhanced Payroll.

Third time in a month this has happened to us. Absolutely ridiculous Intuit doesn't put in a permanent fix. I cannot wait until another software innovates and puts quickbooks out of its misery for good. Nickel and dime for all these modules that don't work. Attempt a SaaS sales model with an on-prem software.  Then it doesn't even work half the time lol.

 

Only a matter of time. For anyone reading this, you have to call support. They log in the system, fix something on the backend and there's absolutely nothing you can do to fix it yourself. Enjoy your hour of productivity wasted on the phone.
