Was the feature to enter occupational codes for 2018 QB Desktop Premier Contractors edition removed? I entered the codes earlier this year and have a new hire. When I went to put in the code I can no longer find that option. Searching online it only gives instructions if you have enhanced or assisted payroll for desktop. So did this feature get removed? It is a requirement in Indiana. If it got removed I assume it removed the codes I already had setup for my employees.
Does anybody know where this is now in my version or if it has been eliminated unless you have an upgraded payroll service?
Thanks for your help

Hi there, overtaxed72.
Here's how:
Once done, install the latest tax table from a CD. Please follow the steps below.
Take note: Skip step 2 if you already set up your service keys.
The first step is to enter your service and disk delivery keys.
1. Click the Employees menu. Then select Payroll, and choose Enter Payroll Service Key.
2. Click Add from the QuickBooks Service Sign-Up screen.
3. Enter your Service Key. Select Next.
4. Enter your Desk Delivery Key and then choose Next.
The second step is to install the update from the CD.
1. Insert the Payroll Update CD into your CD drive.
2. Click the Employees menu. Then select Get Payroll Updates.
3. Choose Install Update from Disk.
4. Select Install. Once the new tax table is installed, you’ll see a confirmation message.

QB regularly downloads and installs payroll updates. In fact it downloaded one before I ran this weeks payroll. The feature was there earlier this year as I already entered them for everyone except the new employee. Now when I go to payroll setup I can't find it. I did finally navigate to a page that said something about occupational codes at the top but there was only options to enter other state work dates and additional taxes but not the codes. So where do I go now to do that?
Hello there, @overtaxed72.
Adding code isn't an option in QuickBooks Desktop. In the meantime, you'll need to contact our Payroll support so we can add it to our next payroll update. Let me guide you how.
For more information, you can check this article: Set up occupational codes for employees.
You can always visit our Payroll and workers page for QuickBooks to learn some tips on managing your payroll.
