How do I edit address box on 1099 form? When printed, does not show the entire address.

It's not possible to edit the details of what prints on the form.

If the address is truncated, it probably means it doesn't fit in the box.   Consider changing the Vendor address so that it will fit.

I hope your week has been well. It sounds like your printer needs to realign that way the numbers will line up with each line.

Here’s how to adjust your printer:

1. Go to Expenses then Vendors.
2. Choose Prepare 1099s.
3. Click on Let's get started/Continue your 1099s.
4. Review or enter the company name and address and the Tax ID then pick Next.
5. Find the box for payment types you made and the expense account you use for these payments then push Next.
6. Review your contractor's information and select Next.
7. In the Check that the payments add up page, press Finish preparing 1099s.
8. Locate I'll file myself.
9. Go through the steps in the Select a form type and print a sample page, then hit either: (No, it doesn't line up or Yes, looks good).
10. Hit Done to complete printing 1099s.

I am now facing the same issue. The remittance address is a PO Box and is different from the appropriate address for sending the W9. Doesn't seem like there is a way around this without changing the address in the vendor record back and forth.

I suggest checking the setup of the vendor's profile to successfully print the 1099s.

Here's how:

1. Click the Vendors menu. Then select Vendors Center.
2. Select the Vendors tab.
3. Choose a vendor and click it to open the Vendor's profile page.
4. Hit the Address Info section. From there, you'll have the option to edit the information.

Let's go over some steps to fix the issue after confirming that everything is correctly set up. Troubleshooting printing problems needs technical expertise as the setup on each printer is different. With this, I suggest contacting your IT person or the printer manufacturer if you need further support

Before you start troubleshooting, check the following:

• Ensure QuickBooks is updated to the latest release.
• Your computer is connected to the printer and that the printer software is installed.
• For specific printing error messages, you may search the  QuickBooks Support site for the exact error.

First, verify if your printer can print outside of QuickBooks using notepad.

1. Click Start. Then choose Notepad.
2. Enter some text and then, select File.
3. Hit Print.
4. Choose the correct printer and select Print.

It seems that Quickbooks Desktop has not taken into consideration that between the business name/individuals name and the address there are going to be more than 3 lines needed.quite often.  There is no way the address can be truncated enough if you are sending a 1099-NEC that needs a client name, a c/o business name and an address and a city/state/zip.  This is easily 4 lines and QB needs to be fixed rapido.  How are we supposed to issue these forms, manually?

That's really bad.  I'm using QB Desktop Pro 2020.  Many of our clients have CPA's the 1099's that must be sent C/O their office.  This means 4 lines of address are needed.  There's certainly enough room under the Recipient's Name on the 1099-NEC.  I can't believe QB has left us hanging like this during our busy season.

The QB response did not address the problem which is that there is plenty of room on the form 1099 as it has 5 lines total, but if a QB address has 4-5 lines, QB combines all the lines into 3 when printing on the form making it totally unmailable.

I know how important it is to be able to print the 1099 form with the correct address format, LAvant.

While QuickBooks aims to find new ways to make sure that your product meets your needs, I'll be sure to take note of this idea for future enhancements.

I have a similar problem.   When printing the IRS 1099 NEC form, the recipient's address is double spaced and will not fit into the space allowed.  The return address is fine.  I have spoken twice to a QB representative, was told it was a printer problem.  I contacted the printer (brother) company and they said it was a QB problem.  

We definitely want to have this sorted out to so you can print the form correctly, six6kids.

Printing issues can either be caused by damage components in QuickBooks Desktop or settings in your printer itself. Have you tried using a different printer? This will helps us isolate if this is a printer or a QuickBooks issue.

I am trying to print my 1099s and the vendor address is double spaced. I have seen that many other people are having the same problem. I called QB this evening only to be told that I would have to pay for an additional service and upgrade to the newest version to get any assistance with this (also could barely understand the person I was speaking with). Has anybody found a solution to this? The return address is fine. Everything else I print aligns just fine.

You guys are idiots.  There is NO WAY to adjust the address.  It is in QB 2022 and is just SET and the address lines are spaced far apaft when printing but NOT in the Address field.  DUMB

Agree...I have had numerous 1099's returned by the post office because of this nonsense with the addresses.  It's completely cutting suite numbers off.  It's a QB's issue that was not properly thought out.  I don't have this issue with my Sage software I use for other vendors.
