We have QB Enterprise and do our own payroll with Intuit making the direct deposit for all employees. Once payroll is completed in house we send data to Intuit. It was working great for 3 years until last 3 payrolls. Intuit gets the details we send but the system states. "We're sorry. We've encountered a Payroll Service connection error and could not send your payroll information" QB stated we need to delete all checks and manually add the data back in a process that has taken 2 days each pay period. When we open up QB it states you have checks to send?

seems there was corrupt data that created the problem. Needed to run data validation report before sending data to intuit. Hopefully that fixes it. Will find out in 2 weeks.
Three of the companies I process payroll for are experiencing this error today. Three different computers. Is there an Intuit outage, perhaps? Thanks for any information you can provide.
I have been experiencing this same issue today. I have tried all help solutions with no luck. Currently chatting to see if I can get more assitance. I have tried all solutions, rebooted my computer as well as our server.
We are currently experiencing the same issues this morning. When I went to chat with support, they informed me to wait for 1-2 hours. It seems this is an issue for everyone this morning/
We had the same issue and Intuit confirmed that it is a wide outage. Waiting a couple hours before calling back.
Yes, this is a wide outage and was confirmed by an Intuit phone call. Waiting a couple hours to see if it is resolved.
Thank you all for posting this information. I was in panic mode. I still am but glad I am not the only one. On a chat now. Hopefully we will all get some answers soon.
Thank you all for posing this information. I am on a chat now. Still in a panic, but I am glad I am not alone.
Confirmed on chat it is a system issue on QB/Intuit end. No resolve time given.
If it wasn't for us community people to help each other, where would we be? re-installing and formating our hardrives because some nitwitt at intuit support can't figure out when THEY have an outtage??? Ridiculous
Thanks to the person who got a REAL answer today for this problem. Guess we wait for them to fix the issue. I am always weary when i here those words "rest assure.. we" RUN
Hi All, we are informed about your experience.
I'm here to confirm that our engineering team is currently working on the issue. The payroll service error occurs when attempting to update tax tables or sending payroll data.
We're not given any time frame when it will be sorted out. Our team is working on this right now and doing their best to fix it as soon as possible. With that, you're advised to attempt again in an hour to see if it is resolved.
Please subscribe to this page for updates. We'll also update here as soon as we get information on this matter. Take care and stay safe.
I was about to say the same thing you were. The smart thing, for them as a company, would have been to send out an email to their payroll subscription owners so 5454454 people weren't trying to contact them about the same thing.
Looks like the subscription authentication is up at least. Haven't tried direct deposit activities yet.
Good morning @KYCPAFIRM. Thanks for reaching out and letting us know what you're experiencing in your account. As of now, our engineers have resolved the issue and payroll should be running as usual.
I do recommend completely closing down QuickBooks and re-opening, just so the program has a chance to refresh.
I appreciate the patience from all of you, and happy that you can get back to business. :)
My direct deposit went through to Intuit, but my software still says that I need to send it. Can I just delete all of the checks and manually enter the data? I tried to void them to do that, but it says that it still needs to send the information. Didn't know if deleting would be better.
Hi there, Claire Mellors.
Thanks for following up on this thread. I want to make sure you're able to successfully view your direct deposits in your Desktop account.
In this instance, yes, deleting the checks and manually re-entering the data would work. I recommend speaking with your accountant beforehand though to make sure this is a good route to take.
Additionally, I suggest calling in to speak with a member of the Desktop Payroll Support Team. Agents have specialized tools, like screen-sharing, to take a closer look at your account and determine why the deposit details aren't updating in the system. Here's how to get in touch with the team:
1. Press the F1 key on your keyboard.
2. Select Contact Us.
3. Enter Support in the field and click Continue.
4. From here you can choose to message an agent, or set up a callback for a time that's convenient for you.
The following linked article provides these steps if you ever need them again in the future: Contact the QuickBooks Desktop Customer Support Team
With this info you'll be able to view your employee's direct deposits in your Desktop program in no time. Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions. I'll be here to help.
I've been having this issue every week for the past month and I'm still waiting on the escalation team to solve our issue. Any updates on how to get this resolved?
Thanks for following up this thread, @nkwest.
Since you've already reached out to our support team to report this issue, you'll receive an email once it's fixed.
If you'll still haven't received any update, I suggest getting in touch again with our representatives. They have the tools to verify the status of your case.
Here's how:
Additionally, here's how you can create and send direct deposit paychecks to your employees.
Keep in touch if you have further concerns. I'm around the Community to help you further. Keep safe always.
Claire,
What did Intuit do to clear this? They've been working on mine for a week and it still says it needs to send.
Hi I encounter same issue today. Not able to complete the payroll as it shows payroll service connection error. Please help.
I can help you troubleshoot the payroll connection error, cherryf_1014.
The error message you receive is caused by one of these reasons:
Let's first make sure that you installed the latest payroll updates. Then to further check, I suggest rebooting your computer and ensure that the internet connection is not interrupted. Then, send your payroll information again.
If the issue persists, you can check out this article for more information and additional steps in fixing the payroll connection issue: Troubleshoot Payroll Service Server Error or Payroll Connection Error.
Once you've done the steps and the same thing happens, I recommend contacting us so we can investigate the error further. You can follow the steps provided by Rubielyn_J on how to reach out to us.
Keep me posted whenever you have questions or any updates on how the troubleshooting steps work. Tale care and have a good one!
I am having the same issue not able to send payroll data because there are thousands of paystubs that appeared in the send employee data portal and now I cannot get payroll updates. The new tax tables are not available and I cannot create W2’s. This is an emergency and after hours spent with QuickBooks payroll help and several cases opened still no solution. We need help and QuickBooks isn’t helping.
