II was online for 2 hours yesterday trying to figure out how to enter information for update and then promptly disconnected when the "contact agent" couldn't figure it out. All that time spent with no resolution!! If my payroll and direct deposit don't work I will be definitely switching software companies. (which would be unfortunate as I have been using quickbooks for over 15 years! This update should be much easier!
Now my date has been pushed to 9/30/21. Cool, the more I wait the more time I get.

I have the lastest version of QuickBooks and I am having the update problem with error 40003

I'd like to help and shar what I know about the error message you receive in QuickBooks.
Error 40003 or also known as PS038 is usually the error message you receive when running a payroll update.
Before doing some troubleshooting steps, make sure you update your QuickBooks to the latest release. Once done, you may follow the steps given below depending on the payroll service you have.
After that, you can run the payroll updates again to see if you encounter the same error.
