First of all this support system is HORRIBLE 

 

I have two accounts. I don’t know why it doesn’t say 2 but I am being charged for a couple of years.

I'll share some information about the error and how you can resolve it.

 

The error 80029c4a usually occurs when a company file has been corrupted or your antivirus has accidentally block QuickBooks from loading essential files.

 

We can resolve the error by updating the latest release of QuickBooks Desktop 2018, 2019, and 2020!

 

Once done, try to open the program. If you're still getting the same error even with an updated QuickBooks release, please make sure to check your antivirus settings.

 

Otherwise, follow Step 2 in this article: Fix Error 80029c4a.

Are you currently using QuickBooks Desktop? If so, I'll help you open and update your QuickBooks Desktop company file. This way, you can access your data without experiencing any errors.

 

You can check your antivirus settings. Some antivirus programs may accidentally block QuickBooks from loading essential files. I'd recommend checking this article to see the programs list in your quarantine. If you found them, you need to give them permission to go through your firewall: Fix Error 80029c4a.

 

Once done, turn on Automatic Updates. This lets QuickBooks download and installs the latest updates when they're available. Doing this helps the program to always have the latest features and fixes. This also prevents getting unexpected errors. 
 

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Go to the Update Now tab. Tip: You can select the Reset Update checkbox to clear all previous update downloads.
  4. Select Get Updates to start the download.
  5. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks and accept the option to install the new release.

 

If you can't update QuickBooks, you need to download and install QuickBooks Tool Hub first. This fixes common errors like the error you've got. Let me walk you through the complete steps of this process. 
 

  1. Make sure to close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. For the best experience, you can use Tool Hub on Windows 10, 64-bit.
  3. Save the file where you can easily find it.
  4. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  5. You'll be asked to install and agree to the terms and conditions. 

 

After installing the Tool Hub, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open it. If you can't find the icon, you can search in Windows for QuickBooks Tool Hub and select the program. 

 

Then, run the Quick Fix my Program. Here's how:

 

  1. In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  3. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

Let me help you fix the error you're getting while using QuickBooks Desktop QBDT). You can start by backing up your company file to protect against data loss.

 

Once done, do the clean install to refresh the program files causing the error. To begin, download the installer for your version of QuickBooks.

 

Have your license number ready. It should be on the original package or in the purchase confirmation email if you bought a digital version. You can get this info using the License Look Up tool.

 

After that, uninstall QuickBooks by following these steps:

 

Step 1: Remove QuickBooks

 

  1. Open the Windows Start menu. Search for “Control Panel”, then open Control Panel.
  2. Select Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
  3. From the list of programs, select the version of QuickBooks Desktop you want to uninstall.
  4. Select Uninstall/Change and then Remove. Select Next. 
  5. If you don’t see this option, sign out and sign back into Windows as an admin (or a user with admin rights).

 

Step 2: Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop.

 

After performing those steps, you can restore the company file and continue doing your task.

We are attempting to open our QB program on a new computer & are having trouble. We are trying to open a saved company but it is telling us that we don't have the correct program upgrade. In our attempts we did @ one point received the 80070057 error code. We have our data files backed up on a passport drive.

Let me help you fix the error, @JG1231.

 

The Error 80070057 while trying to open your company is related to the location of the backup file. Since your file is located in a passport or removable drive, it's best to save a copy directly on your Documents where it is the default folder location used by QuickBooks.

 

Once done, let QuickBooks run as Administrator by right-clicking directly on the app icon. If the same error persists, follow the nest solution outlined in this article: What to do if you See Error 80070057 when Trying to Open your Company File in QuickBooks Desktop?

Nice to see you in the QuickBooks Community! I have a quick question, have your QuickBooks been updated to the newest release? This error is using fixed by this! However, if your QuickBooks is updated and there is still an issue, the next step is to check your antivirus software. Sometimes you would have to permit certain areas of your program. I recommend checking to see permission is given to these extensions.

 

  • AutoBackupExe.exe
  • Dbmlsync.exe
  • DBManagerExe.exe
  • FileManagement.exe
  • FileMovementExe.exe
  • QuickBooksMessaging.exe
  • QBW32.exe
  • QBDBMgrN.exe

Usually, this issue happens when there are changes to the current setup because of the update. Since it started happening after the upgrade, I suggest performing some basic troubleshooting.

 

Considering you're unable to log in, the browser's stored cache may be full. It can cause unusual behavior, like the problem when signing in to your account.

 

I'd first suggest logging into your account using a private browser or incognito mode. It's a great way to isolate browser-related issues.

 

Use these keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you're using:

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

 

If you can view your account without any trouble, please switch back to the regular browser and clear its cache. It helps to restore the default setup of the browser. 

 

In case private browsing doesn't work, use another supported web engine. This way, you'll get the best and most secure experience with the program.

I tried to upload updates - as I do every 2 weeks - and it gave me an error code of 16026 and won't let me proceed.  I do this payroll on the weekend because I work a regular job during the week.  Just need to get payroll done.  Frustrated!

Let me make sure you're able to get past these issues on your company file and update payroll successfully.

 

The error code 16026 can occur when a user is upgrading QuickBooks. There are several causes for this error:

 

  • Common Internet connectivity issues can promote the error
  • If you are using an outdated version of the Microsoft Internet Explorer
  • If the cipher strength of the IE is not 128-bit
  • Partial or damaged installation of the QuickBooks application
  • Compatibility issues between the QuickBooks and the Windows operating system.

 

Follow the below-given troubleshooting steps to get rid of the QuickBooks error 16026:

 

  1. Restart QuickBooks and access the Financial Institution directory from within the application.
  2. Now, go to Banking, then Online Banking. Select Available Financial Institutions.
  3. If you can see the Financial Institution Directory on the left pane, it means that QuickBooks is successful in accessing one of the Online services of Intuit.
  4. If you can access the Internet connection from within the QuickBooks using your web browser, then try to download the latest update for the QuickBooks.
  5. Check the version and cipher strength of the Internet Explorer to ensure that they meet the system requirement criteria to download the update for the software.
  6. Launch Internet Explorer.
  7. From the Help section, select About Internet Explorer.
  8. If you are using an earlier version of the Internet Explorer 6.0, then download the latest version from Microsoft’s website.

 

Once done with those steps above, I recommend ending all QuickBooks processes running in the background. Here's how:

 

  1. Right-click on the taskbar and select Start Task Manager.
  2. Go to the Processes tab and click the Image Name tab.
  3. Select the QuickBooks processes one by one and clicks End process.
  4. Make sure only QuickBooks processes are ended and then close the Task Manager.
  5. Exit out of SmartVault from the system tray.
  6. Then, restart your computer to update it to reflect on your computer.

 

After that, download the latest payroll update to get the most current and accurate rates and calculations. I'm adding this link as a guide: Get the latest payroll tax table update.

 

If you're still getting the error, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Team. That way, they'll be able to create a case and look deeper into the main cause of the issue.

When you click on the QuickBooks icon many times, it can result in the program not responding. It is better to wait for a while and give enough time for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to launch.


If you get the same result after following the suggestion, let’s download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub to resolve common errors or issues when using the program. We recommend lodging it on Windows 10, 64-bit. Then run a quick repair from the Tools Hub. I’m here to walk you through the process.

 

  1. Make sure to close your QuickBooks.
  2. Next, download the latest version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and then save the file where you can locate it easily.
  3. Open the QuickBooksToolHub.exe link and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.

Just installed Desktop Pro 2021 on my laptop. It's been on my desktop computer forever. Tried running Data Protect on this laptop and it won't backup my Documents, Pictures, etc. folders. Only backs up my QB file.

I know how beneficial a solution like Intuit Data Protect (IDP) is for your needs. I'll show you how to change your IDP settings so you may backup additional files and documents on your computer.

Here's how:

 

  1. Open Intuit Data Protect from your system tray.
  2. Click on Change backup settings.
  3. On the Select QuickBooks Data window, choose the files you want to backup, then hit Continue
  4. For Entire PC Users, after you clicking Continue, select the additional folders you want to back up on the Select other folders to back up window.
  5. Tap Continue. On the Notifications Email Settings window, choose whether to be notified or not.
  6. Click Continue again, then choose your backup time.
  7. Select Continue to save the changes, then exit from the settings window.

Thanks to Archie_B (QuickBooks Team) for response. Unfortunately, I had already done ALL the things he suggested. I check the boxes for the additional folders on my laptop I wish to backup, click "backup now" and it ignores the checked boxes, for the most part. Oddly, the only added folder it seems to "like" is "Favorites".

To start, let's make sure that your QuickBooks Deskstop and Intuit Data Protect are up to date. This will keep your software up to date so you always have the latest features and run your backups smoothly.

 

After updating, back up again your files with Intuit Data Protect

 

If you're still getting the same result, try running the Diagnostic Tool. This will help us check your computer’s memory, disk space, and Windows components like .NET Framework, and Intuit Data Protect version. Here's how:

 

  1. Right-click the Intuit Data Protect icon and select About Intuit Data Protect. The icon looks like a green padlock.
  2. Press the Ctrl + F2 keys on your keyboard to open the Intuit Data Protect Diagnostic tool.
  3. Select Run Diagnostics.
