It would be cool, but it doesn't work on computers that never explorer on them in the past.
IE 11 can be enabled from Run (Win+r), then type optionalfeatures for the legacy Windows Features program. Then check the box for IE 11 and OK, then restart when prompted. Obviously IE is old, so it is best to disconnect you quickbooks from the internet if you are using it on one PC and let IE exist on your Windows 10 PC. This needs a solution though, I was very close to adding "disable IE 11" to all new Windows 10 Pro installs. Hopefully a good business-class endpoint security application can help with the shortcomings of IE 11, but I'm no security expert.
After spending several hours trying to get Internet Explorer reinstalled, I finally found these instructions that worked. I don't know why this isn't posted on the Microsoft website: press the Windows key + S and begin typing in manage optional features until you see "manage optional features" and click on that.
Near the top, look for and click on Add a feature.
Scroll down until you see Internet Explorer 11 and click on Install.
Once again, Internet Explorer 11 will reinstall within seconds so you can reboot now and Internet Explorer will be back.
Tried all the ideas shown in this thread, all failed.
I'm uninstalling Quickbooks, cancelling my subscription to the online version as it dropped all my information.
I appreciate you for keeping us updated, MarkBall2.
This is not the impression we want you to experience. Since you've tried the solutions above and failed, it would be best to reach out to our QuickBooks Care Support. They have the tools to conduct a thorough investigation for a complete resolution.

Hi. I also can no longer use our QB because of the IE limitation. I have concluded that QB is essentially running a scam by providing products that they know people can't use without jeopardizing security or without finding a bank that will jeopardize its security and allow IE interfaces. Scams, fraud, and bad business practices are addressed by filing complaints with the FTC at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
That's were I am going next to look for some relief. Also might try our state's attorney general.....they love to get press coverage by tackling consumer fraud on behalf of their constituents.
Your suggestion to hit Help and start a chat would work if Quickbooks was working.
Mine will not start without Internet explorer which I deleted. I downloaded a copy of Internet explorer 11, but it will not load as the pc says "Setup cannot continue because there is a more recent version of Internet Explorer is installed on your computer." When I search for Internet Explorer I get a not found. Suggestions

as long as we (dumb consumers) keep purchasing Quickbooks, they won't fix
the dependency on Internet Explorer.
Please stop using Inuit products until the make the secure move to ditch IE!

Do you wish migrating data from QB Desktop file to other system, or else?
Internet Explorer 11 is obsolete.
Software in 2021 should not rely on an antiquated browser from 2013. This issue needs to be fixed as is a major flaw.
Microsoft just released this:
Today we announced that the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge. Internet Explorer mode (IE mode) provides legacy browser support within Microsoft Edge. Because of this, the IE11 desktop application will be retired on June 15, 2022. This means that the IE11 desktop application will no longer be supported and afterwards will redirect to Microsoft Edge if a user tries to access it.
Internet Explorer 11 desktop application
Is QuickBooks going to provide an option to reconfigure itself to allow us to run Edge in Internet Explorer mode?
They need to fix this ASAP. This is a serious problem.
I appreciate you for sharing the details with us, @BD Hodge.

This is OUTRAGEOUS! I waste so much time with Quickbooks compatibility issues. The internal browser hasn't worked for years now. Every time I click on a link inside Quickbooks Desktop (like for information about a payroll update), it trys to go to a Quickbooks Support topic on the internal browser. But the browser doesn't work! It doesn't even allow me to see the link. What's also outrageous is how the Quickbooks Desktop is not compatible with 4K monitors! I have the latest release Quickbooks 2021! I pay Intuit something like $1200/yr for the application and payroll and I get nothing but headaches. I can't wait to rid myself of this trash program! JUST AWFUL
