@Mav1972

I checked your screenshot again. I'm not sure you're using  QB Desktop US version. It is very likely that you are using QB Desktop UK version. I would recommend sticking with the existing version. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a third-party service to convert your data to QB Online South African version and use a manufacturing app to integrate it.

What version and release of QuickBooks do you have? Use the F2 feature to get the details, which appear near the top of the window.

I know the discontinuation of the service is affecting many users, @Mav1972.

I'm here to help you choose other alternatives to continue using QuickBooks products.

Any business currently using the QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise Solutions v20 of the QuickBooks accounting software should know by now that on May 2023, it will be discontinued. It has been a blow for many businesses that rely on QuickBooks, and the clock is ticking for business owners to find alternative accounting software.

While the online version of QuickBooks will remain available, anyone using the desktop version will rethink their accounting needs. If you decide to transfer to cloud version of software, see this article for your reference: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/ph/pricing/.

Thanks for coming back to us, @joan ho.

Let me share some details about the message requiring you to log back into your Intuit account in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Improved security and protection are being introduced for the QBDT software user by requiring you to access your Intuit Account once every 180 days when opening the company file.

To access your Intuit Account inside QuickBooks, you'll have to upgrade your software to any of the supported versions of QuickBooks since QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2017 is no longer supported.

Alternatively, you can access your Intuit account from a web browser. I'll show you how.

  1. Sign in to your Intuit account.
  2. Enter your user and password.
  3. Select I forgot my user ID or password if you don't remember your credential.
  4. Follow the onscreen instruction to complete the process.

You can read this article for more insights: Set up and use Intuit account user management in QuickBooks Desktop.

Also, QBDT 2017 is no longer supported. You'll have to upgrade to a newer version, and then step up the data file. Before doing so, ensure to create a backup copy of your company file.

I'm adding these articles for more information about upgrading QBDT to a newer version:

Moreover, you can review this link to see the current pricing of our QuickBooks Desktop products.

If there's anything else I can help with. Just drop a comment below, and I'll be happy to assist you. Have a great day.

You need to have a supported version to use such feature (i.e 2022 or newer).

I appreciate you chiming in on this thread, @SH111.

I'll share information about why you're unable to send out invoices in the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2020 version you're currently using.

Considering the discontinuation, this is the reason why you can't do the invoices. Thus, consider purchasing a newer active-supported version to send emails, such as invoices, reports, and more.

You can purchase the QBDT 2022 version or newer. Otherwise, the product isn't available to new subscribers in the United States. The deadline to purchase a new subscription was September 30, 2024. This includes the following products:

  • QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus
  • QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus

You can visit this link for more details: Can't buy QuickBooks Desktop as a new US subscriber.

Once done, you can now start installing your new version of QBDT. Please open this article for a step-by-step guide and some things you need to know before you begin: Install QuickBooks Desktop.

Feel free to reply on this thread again if you still have concerns about sending invoices or other QBDT-related tasks. I'm determined to help you succeed. Keep safe always.
