You would probably be surprised just how many people they do this to.
They "hold" money, so they can collect interest off of it. Some people have to wait weeks, if not months, just to get their money. Those that are having to wait months on end, will have to turn around and collect it from their state, because QB won't release it to you. Just your state.
It's all very dishonest.
(Although, someone from QB will be along shortly to dismiss anything I have said, and sugarcoat it all for ya).
You can use the search bar at the top of any page to find others in your same boat. Also, if you search "Class action", you will find a thread that talks about a class action lawsuit against Intuit/ QB, for taking money. There is a link to a FB page that is for the lawsuit.
Good luck.
I understand that getting paid quickly is a priority for you, fjacobsdds.
To give you an idea of how electronic customer payments work for online invoices, I'd like to share some information with you.
When you begin to process or receive payment for the first time, it may take up to five (5) business days to deposit your funds because we need to set up your merchant account. Once this is done, payments will be processed faster. However, there may be times when deposits are delayed. To find out why, you can check out this article: Why are my funds on hold?.
Additionally, banks have their own rules for processing payments. Thus, the deposit schedule is controlled by them.
You can also contact our QuickBooks Payments Customer Support Team for them to check the payment status, and the reasons for the delay, and help you resolve it.

Regarding my original post, the deposits were done January 17th, almost 4 weeks ago. I have tried to transfer the money out only to see a message that my account is blocked and I can not transfer the funds. What the heck? Without drawing any conclusions, it seems to me that my money was stolen. I even called the customer service phone and spoke to a person that told me I can not get my money back because intuit has closed the account with my money in it. Please help.
Wow.This is so scary. I’m new to QBO and this definitely gives me pause on whether to use their banking services at all.
@EBC2024 I would NOT recommend using them for banking, cc processing, nor bill paying.
They can NOT be trusted with anyone's money.
I can see how you want QuickBooks to work the way it should be, EBC2024.
We usually review your payments to make sure everything is okay. You may notice that a recent payment you accepted is on hold but this doesn't mean that there's something wrong with it. It only means that we still need to review your payment. Also, you'll get an email at the email address you used to sign in to the Merchant Service Center with specific steps on what to do if indeed this is a hold issue. This will help you resolve your problem. So you don't have to worry anything.
To know more about this, you may refer to this article for more details: Why Are My Funds On Hold?
Furthermore, QuickBooks downloads the latest transactions and suggests categories based on how you categorized similar transactions. I've added this article for more information on how you can categorize bank transactions: Categorize Online Bank Transactions In QuickBooks Online.

Thank you for your response. I can see that you appear to be a QuickBooks member. To clarify, I wish this would be just a simple case of holding my funds on a particular deposit for a few days. Oh, not so. I was informed by a Quickbooks member that the account was CLOSED by Quickbooks. That's right, CLOSED with my money in it around the first days in February. Before someone starts assuming that I am somehow involved in some nefarious activity, let me assure you that this is not the case. I have been in business for over 28 years and have been using Quickbooks ever since with the online version within one year. I hold a doctorate in the health sciences from UCLA. I realize that Quickbooks just launched their Quickbooks checking online recently, but this is absurd. The Quickbooks claim number is 15111930832. I have been told that someone would get right back to me but all I have heard is just crickets. I just want to get my money back. Help.

Thank you Glineyte. I followed your advice to no avail. QuickBooks merchant services say they can not help because they are not the bank. After being transferred to greendot bank and waiting 75 minutes they told me they cannot help because QuickBooks closed my account. So now what? Shame on QuickBooks for stealing my money.
Time to bring out the big guns. If your local television station has a consumer resolution feature, you could try contacting them. QB does not have enough motivation to get this resolved for you. I once was charged $1200 for emailing 3 photos from Europe (not on wifi). Our local station got this resolved and a corporate executive called to apologize. Large corporations are far more concerned with their image than a single customer and bad press scares them to death. Best of luck with this horrible situation.
@fjacobsdds There are a LOT of others in your same boat. There is a Facebook page with info on a class action lawsuit for this very reason.

You should find an email for the contact for that lawsuit.
I purposefully avoided adding my banking information when I saw QB redesign their site to receive payments. They have continued to put tags and links in invoices hoping to fool customers into paying through them even when I haven’t set up an account to receive payments. Well they finally got a payment from one of my customers and they refuse to release it. Customer service refused to let me speak to a supervisor and said the process is out of their control. I have worked weeks for this money and need to make payroll but QB thinks they are deserving of money they have not earned. I pay monthly but it isn’t enough. This is a very deceptive company and I would recommend avoiding using them before it is too late.
I purposely avoided providing my banking account information with the new update. QB seemed very eager to want to be the middle man in receiving payments from my customers. Now I know why. In spite of tags to “get your money instantly” QB has taken a payment from my customer, even though I didn’t set up an account, and have refused to release my money. Customer service refused to help, let me speak with a supervisor and insisted that the process is out of their control. They are using another party to route my money. It is time to pay payroll with money that I earned and QB feels that they should be the ones to determine when I should get my money. I encourage you to avoid this site before it is too late and you are put in financial hardship by QB.
They have also stolen my money. I was paid 7,000.00, they took their fees and held the remaining 6,700.00. Said it was for possible chargeback. This was since May 16th 2024. Then they said I had to wait 90 to 180 days to see if the charge would be disputed. I assured them it won’t but I’ll wait. Then they said have my customer dispute it. I told them I don’t want to because they already had my merchandise so WHY would I let them have their money back ALONG with my merchandise…? They said ok. They’ll let me wait it out. NOW they’re telling me there was an issue with an old account I had with them 12 years ago that was written off 11 yrs ago. And THAT’S why they’re holding it. Smfh. But they let other transactions process AND allowed me to open an account. So because they KNOW there won’t be a chargeback their NEXT attempt to keep my money is a 12 yr old debt. When by LAW no collection can be pursued after 7-10 years. WHERE IS MY MONEY…?????!!!!!! It’s now July 1st 2024. A month and a half LATER!!!!

Quuckbooks does not do what the emails promise and then when you try to click on "support" in the merchant services page it sends you to generalized quickbooks agents who have no transactional information whatsoever. It is completely disengenous.
I have been told numerous times that there is no actual way to contact merchant support so this answer is a lie. They have to call US back, no place to call them directly.

I just had the same thing happen I opened an account, deposited a check and they next day the closed the account. The message on QuickBooks checking is the account is on hold. The check cleared, and the money is in that account. I can't get it or transfer it, it is held there and I can't access it. I woukd like help too. QuickBooks payments support says it could be up to a year before the money is released. I can't reach anyone at green dot bank because you are required to enter a card # or ssn# to get through, and mine are not recognized. How do you get your money out? This feels awful and not right, that they can just keep the money.
