Verification code to log in?

The TSheets app recently started asking for a verification code every time I log in. How can I turn this off? It is ridiculous to have to go to my email and get a code every time I log in.

Hello @R19S, thank you for reaching out to us here at The Community, my name is Sherissa and I am more than happy to assist you today.

Here is a link to turn off Multi-Factor Authentication, this should work since TSheets is apart of the QuickBooks and Intuit Family of Products.

If it does not work then it is apart of a known issue that our Support Team is tracking and working on.

If that is the case you will need to reach out to our Support Team and let them know about the issue you are having so they can tag your account with the known issue and can reach out to you when it is resolved!

I hope this helps and if you need anything else please feel free to reach back out to us at any time.

Verification code to log in?

Hello @dupree31, if you see the section for "Set up Two-Step Verification" you will go through that process and instead of turning in "ON" you will turn it "OFF".

Let me know if you need anything else!

Verification code to log in?

Hello,

I'm having the same problem, and the link you provided is not helpful.  Under "Set up two-step verification", it says:

"1. Go to Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
2. In the Two-step verification section, select Turn on."

But it doesn't tell you where to go (i.e., under which menu) to find two-step verification.

A screenshot would be helpful.  This is a consistent problem with QBO.  The advice often tells you how to do something without a screenshot.  I suspect the UI has been changed since a lot of the FAQ was written, and it's outdated.

I tried your suggestion now I have to get a code via email and text. There has to be a way to go back to the way it was.

Verification code to log in?

I have been having the same, extremely frustrating problem.  Perhaps it is coincidental, but I recollect this starting when Intuit moved to a single sign on for TSheets and QuickBooks back in June.  Also, I always get asked for a verification code when logging into TSheets, but never for QuickBooks.

For the Tech Support help.  This is not about turning on or off two factor authentication under our Intuit IDs.  Everyone who is complaining about this issue most likely already has two factor turned off.  I also don't believe it's about Cookies.  I have set my browser to accept and keep Cookies from TSheets and QuickBooks.

EVERY TIME I login to TSheets, I get the following:

image.png

Once I enter the verification code, I get this:

image.png

The first option is my email address and I always chose that.  I have not idea what the second option is, but it does contain my email address and it was apparently last accessed right around the time of your login consolidation.

I really like everything about TSheets.  However, this issue is such a nuisance that I am considering changing to another time keeping system.

I too am having this exact same problem with having to retrieve a verification code from my email client whenever I log into TSheets, yet it is not required when logging into Quickbooks.  I also do not have two factor authentification turned on, and it also started at the same time as the integration of the two programs.

@sberti - do you have any updates on this?

The screenshots that @mckinley1975 posted in this chain are accurate (the need for an email verification code and then choosing the proper account every time), and seems like there is a bug once the two systems integrated (when this started for me as well). Is this a know something that is being worked on? Happy to provide more info if it would help. Thanks!

Verification code to log in?

Hey @joshpwer, thank you for reaching out. This is a very frustrating situation and I can imagine it is making it hard for you and your team to track time easily.

Upon further investigating the issue you are having is not the intended behavior for logging in and is a known bug that our engineering team is actively working to resolve.

Once the engineering team has an update I will post in this thread.

If you would like to be notified directly of updates on this, you can reach out to TSheets Support via phone or chat and let the agent know you are being impacted by INV-00138!

I hope this helps if you need anything else please let me know.

After spending over an hour on the phone with a dedicated tech support specialist, we finally fixed this issue but only by creating a new user ID.  Nothing we tried using my existing ID would correct the problme.

Any update on this issue? It is happening everyday to one of my employees and is making her late because she has to go through this step every single time she tries to sign on to T-sheets. This is unacceptable. Please provide an update.

So here we are in February of 2021 and this is still an issue?!?

I am having the same problem. Don't understand why I need a verification code sent to my email when I supposedly have a password set up. Extremely frustrating!!

Hello @EdwardC1,

Thanks for checking in with the Community.

We implement the process of multiple layers of security because your information and its safety are one of our biggest priorities.

Having said that, I would be happy to give you the instructions to turn off the two-step verification. Check them out here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/intuit-account-settings/turn-on-or-turn-off-two-st...

Please let me know if, for some reason, you’re unable to complete these steps and we can look into additional situations. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply. Chat soon!

This has now started plaguing me also. I have done every step that has been given in this thread and many others, but it will not stop. Please stop the harassment of having to get a code every single login!

Thanks for taking the time to reach out on this, @Ophus.

Good news! This issue you're seeing was an investigation that has since been resolved.  Since you're still experiencing issues, let's have you try reaching this from an incognito window.

Depending on your browser, here's how:

  1. For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  2. For Internet Explorer or Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  3. For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it's still not working, you can clear your browser's cache so the system can start fresh.

I'd love to hear if these solutions work for you, and I'm here for any other questions you may have. Take care!

As I stated before I tried all of those things, but since you said it was fixed, I just did it again. I opened an incognito window attempted login and was presented with an email verification. I then clear cookies and cache, then attempted another login and was again shown an email verification required.

Verification code to log in?

Good morning, @Ophus! Thank you so much for trying those troubleshooting steps that my colleague recommended, even though you've already tried them previously. I believe I can help get this issue taken care of for you.

I checked into @JHfrustrated comment about changing the UserID and reached out to a phone agent who tried this with a customer. Typically the User ID is your email and changing it to a username like "JohnDoe123" seems to stop the verification process from happening consistently. Let me walk you through how.

  1. Log in to accounts.intuit.com with your login (the same one you use for QuickBooks Time).
  2. On the left panel go to Sign in & Security.
  3. Click on your User ID, enter in a new username and enter in your password.
  4. Select Save.

Please reply to this post and let us know if this helps your login process. Our team is diligently working on improving the Multi-Fator Authorization experience for our QuickBooks customers. :)

I created a new user name, as you suggested and have been using it to log in with, but to no avail. I am still presented with a verification code every log in.

Thanks for coming back with an update, @Ophus! I appreciate you trying that step and changing your username.

I have double-checked and as of now, there aren't any known issues with this login problem. If you've already tried clearing cache and cookies and trying a new browser after changing your username, I'd recommend reaching out to support.

Here's an article to walk you through your options: Contact QuickBooks Time Support.

I know it can be inconvenient to reach out to support but I'm confident they can look into this further and get the information they need to investigate further. As always, any questions you have, please feel free to reply to this post. We're all eager to help in any way we can!

Embarrassing

Creating a new user? please...
March 2021, and this still plaguing users like me.
I don't want to change the username and ID I've been using
Could YOU, talk to YOUR support/development team and inform them about this issue that still has not been fixed?
Thanks

Has this ever been resolved? We have recently been getting this happening to our employees.  There should have never been the integration between the two softwares....

Verification code to log in?

Let's make sure you'll be able to log in to your account without the verification code, Kraegenbrink.

There aren't any issues when logging in with the code. The two-step verification is protection against fraud.  This is a security setting where you confirm that you're the one signing in to your account using a password and a unique code. As mentioned by one of our representatives above, you can turn it off so it wouldn't ask you when logging in. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your Intuit account.
  2. From the left menu, select Sign In & Security.
  3. In the “Two-step verification” section, select Turn off.
  4. Enter the code, then select Continue.

However, if it's still asking for a code, I suggest reaching out to our Support Team so they can look into this and investigate further. They have the tools to pull up your account securely.

For your reference, you may want to change the total hours' format when running the payroll report. I've added this screenshot for your guide: Run And Use The Payroll Report In QuickBooks Time.

Reach out to us if there's anything that I can help with your verification code. We're here to make sure that you get covered.
