Let's go to the settings to check all the available templates, @ zoltan.
You can go to the Gear icon and choose Custom Form Styles. On that page, you can view all the invoice templates that you have. It's also possible that the template that you're referring to was corrupted.

Hi MaryAnn,
Thanks for your reply. I have been back and forth at form styles checking each corner for a setting before asking the question...
I've tried with a new form style as you described but the look is the same, no total line on the generated pdf.
Attached is how it looks: I have the items one after the other but then instead of a total line the next is paid and then the yet due amount.
Hi there, zoltan.
I appreciate you for performing the steps to resolve the issue. I'll provide additional steps for you to see the total line item on your invoices.
I suggest making sure you selected Discount and Deposit under Content Display. This way, you'll be able to see the subtotal, discount, deposit, or the total line item.
I attached screenshots below for visual references.

Hi ChristieAnn,
Thanks for the idea. I tried this, too, doesn't help...
The weird thing is that in the form styles setup the preview of the invoice does have the total lines, but on the actual ones they don't show - cf attachment.
Thanks for getting back to us, @zoltan.
Since the issue persists after following the steps shared by my colleague above, I highly suggest contacting our Phone Support team. They have tools such as screen-sharing (remote access) that can pull up your account in a secure environment and check why the total line is not showing on the invoice PDF. They can also perform other troubleshooting steps to fix this for you.
Here's how to reach them:

I uploaded my own invoice - everything is good except the line totals do not change, i input my own amounts and they all stay at my uploaded <$0.00> they do not change - no matter how i import them - ughhhh can someone help me fix this.. what should i choose to make them change to the correct line total
Hi there, Lawn Girl.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. This isn't the kind of experience I want you to encounter while updating the imported invoice. With this, I can share some troubleshooting steps to ensure that you're able to change the correct total.
A cache full of history and temp files can cause unexpected behaviors, such as being unable to change the exact line total. I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. Then, try to reimport those invoices and update some details from the imported invoices from there. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.
Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using:
If it works in incognito, I suggest clearing the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. You can check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.
If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as alternatives.
Please refer to this article to see details on how the Sales page gives you the summary of your customer's transactions like open and paid invoices: View sales transactions.
Loop me in if you need further assistance with any concerns related to the invoices or any sales transctions. I'm always here to help you anytime. Take care and keep safe!
