I e-filed with quickbooks and received an email that my 1099s were accepted by the IRS over a week ago. My vendors have not yet received the email with the link to view their 1099s. How can I get in touch with someone at QB to determine the problem?
You've got my back, ECR2.
Let me share some information about when your vendors can receive their 1099 forms.
When you invite a contractor to enter their W9 info, they can create a QuickBooks Self-Employed account for free. This way, they can view the 1099 form after filing them. Take a look at this link to learn more about this process: Invite a contractor to add their own tax info.
Moreover, contractor's who have submitted their 1099 forms will receive a confirmation email approximately a week after the IRS accepts and confirms submissions. The date may vary from the day you sent the form. I'm adding this article about how your contractors' can view their 1099 forms: Fill out a W-9 and view your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
Keep me posted on how things work out. I'll be here if you need more help.
I have the same issue, and since I am also one of the 1099 contractors I know the experience on both sides. I filed the 1099's, they were approved by the IRS - this was over a week ago. As a contractor I have yet to receive an email notification about logging into my account to view my 1099, nor have I received a hard copy in the mail. Both digital and hard copies were supposed to be sent.
Is this a timing issue, or should I have received at least the digital email by now?
Hello @RiseandC0.
If you use our e-file service by January 27, 2022, the 1099 forms will be mailed to your contractors to the addresses indicated in the contractor's profile by January 31, 2022.
Once the 1099s have been accepted by The IRS, contractor's should receive and email that their 1099 is ready and they can log in to view it.
Have you tried logging in to your account to see if your 1099 is available? All forms should be available by January 31, 2022 at the latest.
Let me know if you're unable to view your 1099 once you've logged in. I'll be here to follow up.
My 1099s were accepted by the IRS last week. My vendors have not received ANY emails with a link for them to view their 1099s. I don't understand why this is taking so long and I am concerned. I need to get in touch with someone who can check on this for me.
As I said before, none of my vendors have received emails with links to view their 1099s. Why is it so impossible to speak with someone about this?
Hi there, @ECR2.
Once an employer or client submits the contractors' 1099s to the IRS, contractors get an email when it's ready for download. They can select the link in the email to sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed. If they haven't received one, they can follow these steps:
If they aren't able to view their 1099s, you may reach out to our Support Team to speak with a live agent regarding your concern. A live representative can look into your account securely and review the status of your 1099s.

Thanks for following up, but I've been on the phone with your customer service department this morning and have now been told that the 1099's will be mailed on 2/1/2022. Is that even legal? Also, I was hung up on before they answered my question about how to access the form online as an employee. The instructions given to me don't work. Once I fill in my information, I am taken to a broken link. Something is wrong with your filings this year, and my vendors are asking for their tax forms. Can you please help?
I spoke with someone yesterday to no satisfaction. She actually told me that once the 1099s are accepted by the IRS, QB waits for the IRS to give the OK to send the 1099s to the vendors. This is all very disappointing and frustrating.
Hi there, @RiseandC0. I'd be happy to help you with your tax form queries.
The IRS deadline for tax filing for the 1099 form is on the 31st of January. Moreover, your vendors will be able to access their 1099s through an online portal after you've added them as a Vendor and once you've e-filed the form through Intuit.
However, if you're referring to some of your employees, they can't access 1099s. Employees can have a W2 form only.
After you submit the 1099-MISC to the IRS, your vendors will get an email when it's ready for download. You can let them select the link in the email to sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
They can sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed to view or print your 1099-MISC.
Here's how:
To know more details on how they can view the 1099 forms, feel free to read through this article: Learn how to sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed to get your 1099-MISC.
Please keep me updated in the comment section on how things turn out. I'll be here to help get you back to business. Take care!
@MarsStephanieL this is getting beyond frustrating as it does not seem like you even read the inquiries, you are just throwing canned responses out to see what sticks. Unfortunately, nothing in your reply answers any of my questions.
I know the IRS deadline is on 1/31 which is why it is alarming that your customer service department told me today that they will be mailing the 1099's to my vendors on 2/1/22.
I HAVE e-filed the 1099's through Quickbooks. The IRS has accepted them. The issue is that none of my vendors have received either a digital notice or a paper form alerting them to this. The online portal you reference is broken. I myself am a 1099 contractor, and I can't access the portal. I keep getting a broken link after entering my information as well as confirming via a 2-factor verification process. Your site is broken.
I ask again, why have none of my vendors received a digital notice telling them to login to an online portal to view their 1099 despite the forms being e-filed by the employer and accepted by the IRS?
I appreciate your input from every angle, @RiseandC0.
As my colleagues mentioned, once the contractors' 1099s are submitted to the IRS, contractors get an email when it's ready for download.
In your case, to isolate the issue, let's try opening your QuickBooks account in an incognito window. Then, try following the steps provided by @Angelyn_T to check if you'll be routed to a broken link. Using your browser's incognito feature doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to test if there's an issue with the browser.
Here's how:
After that, check to see if it works. If yes, go back to your default browser and clear cache. See Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online for more information.
Otherwise, switch to a different browser like Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari. The one you are currently on maybe have a temporary issue with QuickBooks, and using a new browser for the moment will allow you to get back to work.
Please let me know how it goes. I'll be looking forward to hearing back from you. Have a great day!
Does no one at Quickbooks understand? Vendors are not receiving the email with the link to access their 1099s. IRS accepted the 1099s a week ago. Giving the instructions on how to sign in with the link does not help if the link is not sent.
Thank you for getting back to us, @ECR2.
It sounds like you've been through a lot trying to receive those invoices, and I appreciate all of the details you've provided.
When you file the 1099 forms with us, we also take care of mailing a printed copy to your contractors. If they didn't receive a copy, there might be issues on their end. I'll suggest contacting our support team to check your account and identify the root cause of it. I'll show you how.
I'll add these links for more reference about managing your 1099's and to file your payroll taxes:

"As my colleagues mentioned, once the contractors' 1099s are submitted to the IRS, contractors get an email when it's ready for download."
THIS right here is the issue. The 1099's have been submitted to the IRS and processed. NO contractors (myself included) have gotten an email that it is ready for download. Zero. Not a single person/entity.
Regarding my being able to login to the self-employment portal, none of your hacks work. I do not remember my login credentials, so I keep trying to reset via two-factor authorization. Once I do that, I get a notice saying "We need to double check your identity. Choose how you to verify you're you." Then, there are no options available to choose from. It's just blank with a link to contact customer support - which I have been doing ALL DAY.
I am having the same issue. None of our contractors have received the link to access their 1099s nor have they received a hard copy yet. I received the Intuit email that the IRS accepted the returns on 1/21. It is now 1/27. I have received conflicting answers from QBO support regarding the status. Yesterday, I was told the emails were in a queue and will be sent out. Nothing yet!
QBO, can you respond with an update? Compared to last year's experience, there seems to be a delay of some sort.
Joining the thread to offer my help about 1099s, userreg.
As previously shared in this thread, 1099 NEC forms will be mailed to the contractors to the addresses indicated in the contractor's profile by January 31, 2022.
Please take note that the recipients don't have to receive the forms by the deadline, they just have to be post marked by the deadline. More details about this are discussed here:
You can also let your contractors view their 1099 online. Here's an article about this for more details: Fill out a W-9 and View Your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Unfortunately, the issue is that Quickbooks has not sent an email to contractors to access the download their 1099s. That is the question. Where is the email with the link?
The steps outlined above 'Do Not Work'.
'After your employer or client submits your 1099-MISC to the IRS, you'll get an email when it's ready for download. Select the link in the email to sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.'
@userreg I finally gave up on getting any assistance from Quickbooks - either online, or on the phone. It is clear to me that they know what the issue is, but they don't know the solution, so they seem to be hiding behind these canned responses. I ended up saving all of the pdfs and emailing them individually to my contractors. It's obviously very sensitive information, and I hope no laws were broken by my doing that. Lesser of two evils, I guess.
Thank you! I just got off a chat with Intuit regarding this situation. You are correct! It doesn't look like the email with a link to download their 1099 forms will be sent out. I was also informed that the hard copy mailing is also delayed.
So to address privacy laws and to prevent sharing PII, I will download the PDFs and password protect the forms to email to our contractors and vendors. I will send the password in a separate email.
This is so disappointing as a customer and so frustrating that QBO has made no proactive outreach for a known issue.
I too have the same problem. Mine were accepted on 1/15 and marked "mailed" but no one has received them and I cannot get any help from QB
No amount of "talk to human" is getting me to a human or out of the "help" loop.
Thanks for chiming in on this thread, VJ5.
Let me add some additional info about the 1099 form.
Your vendors should receive their 1099 copies about a week or two after the date they were E-Filed. If your contactor or vendor didn't receive the form, it will be sent back using the address stated in your company information.
While we're unable to trace the mailed 1099 forms, you'll want to invite your contractor/vendor to view the digital copies of the form. You can step by step instructions in this article: Invite a contractor to add their own tax info.
