Q: Which QuickBooks Online versions can I convert to?

Data migration is available for QuickBooks Online EasyStart, Essentials, and Plus. If you’re currently signed up for QuickBooks Self Employed, you’ll need to upgrade to EasyStart, Essentials, and Plus before migrating your data.

Q: I’ve already signed up for QuickBooks Online. Can I move data to that account?

Data cannot be migrated into a QuickBooks Online Company file that has existing data contained within it. If you have an existing QuickBooks Online Company file that you have used in any way you will need to cancel your subscription and create a new account.

Q: Do I have to pay to move my data?

At this time, when migrating your data from Sage 50 or Xero to QuickBooks Online, Intuit will cover the cost to transfer the last 2 years of data through the Dataswitcher tool. Dataswitcher charges nominal fees to transfer extras such as additional years of data, Classes, Company Info, etc.For more info, visit our Help article.

QuickBooks Online Payroll: Payroll is available at an additional cost and is not included in your standard QuickBooks Online subscription. Payroll is currently offered through three different plans, each with a distinct set of features. Features vary and may be available in English only. Auto payroll: Available if setup for the company is complete. Requires at least one employee to complete setup and have consistent payroll that qualifies for automation (i.e. salaried or hourly with default). Company must complete bank verification if the employee has direct deposit as the payment method, and the first payroll must run successfully. The account must not have a hold.

Migration Services: Data migration to QuickBooks Online using Dataswitcher is provided at no cost to the user and is available for a limited time only. As part of the migration the following may be transferred to your QuickBooks Online account : Opening balances, customers & suppliers, Chart of Accounts, invoices, transactional histories, and journal entries, up to two years.

Migrating Additional Years of Data: Any additional journal years selected past the initial two years will be subject to a cost of $70 per additional year. There is an additional cost for the migration of company information, and classes and locations. Data types ineligible to convert at this time are: Budgets, memorized transactions, Invoice template and other templates, sales orders, payroll records, projects, attachments, non-posting entries (estimates). Onboarding Call: We currently offer one 45-minute session per customer, subject to change at any time. QuickBooks Self-Employed plans are not eligible for a free onboarding session.
