I need to change the bank in my direct deposit and quickbooks desktop will not let me

Thank you all that replied to my issue but just to let all of you know-the solution was finally found after talking with 5 reps.

Note:Bank information can not be changed until all direct deposit transactions have cleared at the Intuit side(which you can not see).  The last rep told me that clients need to wait until the date on the direct deposit checks in your Quickbooks.  This includes payroll and subcontractors that are using direct deposits.   Also not that when changing bank info you will need 1-2 days before you can use direct deposit in your system.  This is very good to know now for planning going forward.

I need to change the bank in my direct deposit and quickbooks desktop will not let me

Hi there, kerryboersma,

Let's get you to the right support team who currently handles direct deposit (DD) payroll.

I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Team so they can check your DD profile. By doing so, they'll be able to verify why you're unable to change your DD bank account.

Here's how to contact them:

  1. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.

  3. Give a brief description of your issue, then click Continue.

  4. Select which option is best for you.

I've also added this article: Change your direct deposit bank account for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Basic, Standard or Enhanced for more details. This link provides instructions and detailed steps for your guidance.

Let me know if you need additional information and I'd be happy to help you out.

Thank you for the information you sent me.  I did try to contact the payroll team and they said that I would have to fill out paperwork and either email it(which is suppose to be faster) or fax.  Emailing this information is very risky for it would have everything that a hacker could use to access our business account.  I am looking into why we can do this via the instructions you sent me. I hope we get this worked out.  Oh and I was on the phone for over an hour and did not get much help.  Thanks again for you kindness.

Hello, @kerryboersma.

Thanks for coming back in the Community.

I appreciate for following the suggestion of my colleagues to get in touch with our Customer Support.

If your bank account is active, which means you've verified the test debits, you should be able to update the bank account for Direct Deposit.

However, if this is not the case, you'll need to submit the Bank Account Change form so we can get the complete details. Then we'll be the ones to update the bank in our system.

Our servers are secured and our main priority is to protect the privacy of our users. You'll just need to send the form to the appropriate email provided below.

Here's how:

1. Download the form here: Direct Deposit Bank Account Change Form.
2. Once done, you can email it to sbpfcsoperations@intuit.com or fax the form to (877.699.8996).

I wish you and your business continued success. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

It would be nice to just put a Change My Account Button somewhere on these webpages. It doesn't have to be that difficult to just change your account, if your account has been closed or something. come on, people.

I need to change the bank in my direct deposit and quickbooks desktop will not let me

I have the same issue.  I talked to many reps in the last 5 weeks and it still hasn't been resolved yet.  I submitted the form for the QB to make the bank change as well but never heard back.  For that reason, I had to skip one direct deposit pay cycle.  Can you let me know who is the right contact person that I need to talk to?  They also created ticket case#[removed by moderator].  Please help!  This is very frustrating, it should be a very simple fix to change the bank account and I didn't expect to take more than a month with no solution.

Welcome to this thread, VLCONSULTING.

I appreciate you for letting us know about your experience with the service. This is something Intuit doesn't want you to come across in your future interactions.

Since you're having trouble changing your direct deposit in the normal way and there's already a ticket case number created for the issue, I suggest contacting us again for a follow-up. Our representative can open the previous case recorded and continue a thorough investigation.

Also, it's a good thing is you have your case number handy. This will help the next representative in tracing your previous interaction.

Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Let's talk, and then choose a way to connect. Phone support may be limited due to volume.

To ensure we address your concern, our representatives are available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturdays, PST. See our support hours and types for more details about this one.

You'll be needing this article on how to change your bank account for direct deposit: Change your payroll bank account

Be sure to get back to me if you have other concerns. I'd be more than happy to assist you further. Wishing you well.
