I purchased the 2018 version of QB in May. I've had no issues up until yesterday when I got an error box immediately after putting in my pw. It appears that the program opens but I get an "unrecoverable error" box with the code 01770 37507 I've rebooted, run update checks, virus checks and I've even installed the program on my laptop and the same issue is happening. Please help. I use this every day!

Hello, @sallyb1.
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. You're in good hands here. I'd like to share with you some insight I have on this issue. There are a few steps available for this specific type of Unrecoverable error. This can be caused by the QBCF Monitor Service or the QuickBooks Installation itself. Since you've already tried installing on a different computer and you're receiving the same results, I recommend trying to disable the QBCF Monitor Service. Here's how:
Try opening the company file once more. If you're still encountering the Unrecoverable error, I have an article for you that covers general troubleshooting steps for Unrecoverable errors. You can find that here: https://community.intuit.com/articles/1501515-unrecoverable-error-general-troubleshooting-steps .
If you feel that you need help with any of these steps, you can reach out to the Customer Care Support team here: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact . Feel free to ask any questions you have here in the Community as well. Be sure to keep me posted on your progress with this.

I have Quick Books 2019 Pro. I am having this problem since last year October 2018. What happen actually as soon as you open Quick Books it shuts down without any error message. Upon calling the Tech numorous time and what they got a solution is after doing their diagnosis they create a new user and it starts working. I have almost 10 users on my Windows 10 just because of this. Recently this morning I had the same issue and upon calling the Tech she did the same old technique. My point is why there is no cure for this problem which can resolve this permanently. Also she has suggested me to call Microsoft and tell them to do something with my user account so it won’t change resgistry entries by itself which is a totally new thing for me. Conclusion there is no solution for the problem Except making new users on windows.
Very disappointed.
We appreciate you taking time to inform us about this, Harisd.
You have an option to manually repair the Microsoft component. You can check this article for the steps: Unrecoverable Error: General Troubleshooting Steps. Proceed to Solution 5 and start with step 4. It's a series of steps to repair the Microsoft components.
I also recommend for you to reach out to Microsoft so you will be assisted properly.
If you have other concerns that you'd like to voice out, please let me know. I'll note them down and offer any help I can.
My Quicbooks 2019 also crashes constantly. I have started making backups of my company file every time I make any change to it, because I have had 6 company files crash and then refuse to repair (funny enough when I close the file and make the backup, there are no errors - but upon opening it crashes and destroys the file). This is the worst version of QUICKBOOKS to date - and mind you 2016 was pretty bad. I have run through every single so-called "fix" to no avail. My last step is a clean install.
hmmm... next step SAGE?
Hello there, Sherall0,
Before going to clean uninstall, let's try first the QuickBooks Refresher Tool. This tool ends QuickBooks processes running in the background and also works as a mini repair of the program.
Here's how:
If you're getting a similar result, please proceed to uninstalling and reinstalling the program. Check this article for more information: Solutions for when QuickBooks stops working.
Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
Is there a QB refresher tool for macs?
thanks
Hi there, apeyjoy.
There is no tool similar with QBRefresher for QuickBooks for Mac. However, there are other tools you can use for troubleshooting some QuickBooks issues and errors.
One of them is the Clean Install. It helps to resolve QuickBooks installation issues and function damages.
Another one is the Verify and Rebuild tool. It identifies and resolves corrupted data in QuickBooks.
If you need more help with QB for Mac, please let us know. We're here to help.
I did the clean uninstall and re install, but it didn't work. It still crashes upon trying to open.
I can't do the verify and rebuild tool because the software doesn't open for me to use the toolbar or anything else in the software.
Hello apeyjoy,
Since none of the provided troubleshooting steps worked for you, it'd be best to contact our Technical Support Team. They can investigate this issue and provide additional troubleshooting steps. Here's how you can reach them outside QuickBooks:

Is there a reason why Quickbooks occasionally corrupts our company file?
This happens about twice a year, and paying for Enterprise, I expect a more stable system (that doesn't completely shut down our business). The funny thing is, it always seems to happen after the DB user service crashes (for no reason, it just randomly crashes) on the server. Why not put a professional database in the background like SQL Server instead of that garbage DB that has been haunting us for decades. There shouldn't be such a thing as "single user" mode, ever!
Hello there, AngryITGuy.
Let me help sort things out as I want this to be taken care of.
QuickBooks company file corruption is often caused by issues with the computer or by how QuickBooks interacts with your system. To ensure you have all the updated components, making sure your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release.
In addition, the following resources below outlines the solutions and other possible causes of QuickBooks Desktop unexpected behavior:
If you've done all the recommended troubleshooting steps above, but still having the same issue, I recommend contacting our Care Support Team so they can closely work on for further investigation. The steps on how you can get in touch with us is provided by my colleague above.
If I can be of help with something else, please don't hesitate to get back to me. I'll be around to assist.
In this case, the corruption (if there is actual corruption, though all tools report the file & network to be fine) was due to the QBUser server service stopping on its own, then a person tried to login in the morning and got an error message (for that), so I restarted the service, then he tried again, this time he got an error saying he needed to repair the file. He went through the steps, it said it was fine, and he was able to login, however, any time he attempted to enter a payment, Quickbooks would simply crash. Called me up, and I tried to login as the admin for that company file, and immediately after the icons are drawn at the top, a message box pops up saying an error occurred and to send a report to Intuit. I loaded a different company file as an admin and it worked perfectly. For good measure I disabled the firewall, A/V etc and ran the tool to verify the installation was fine. Tried again with the original company file (as an admin) - same result (from any of the 5 machines - ruling out networking, the computer and the installation). Then I copied the company file to a computer to completely eliminate networking as the culprit and tried to login again w/ the admin account: same error (or lack of). This completely rules out the Network as the culprit and the problem squarely lies with Intuits merchant service. Because the payment service has crashed many times before in Enterprise over the years, it may have corrupted the file (in some fashion). All PCs have been updated religiously, both the OS and Quickbooks and no server events happened overnight, nothing was updated or rebooted, no machines crashed, no power outages, etc. There is one common thing on all machines (6): The following updates never have worked (updated):
Protocol Handler #15227 Never Updated
Service Messages #404 Try later -
Move QuickBooks #15227 Never Updated.
I don't believe any of these would be a problem since QB Ent 19 has been running with these updates never working.
All machines are running Windows 10 (most on build 1803 - build 1903 is incompatible with hardware on couple of machines, though that is inconsequential since the problem persists on all of them), with the last Windows update occurring on July 10th.
That said, as an IT guy (and a programmer, windows & web) of 2 decades experience from corporate enterprise to SMBs, you can see why I'm AngryITguy. (Quickbooks has consistently been the most problematic software as per support requests).
Hi AngryITGuy,
I appreciate you trying the troubleshooting steps.
I'd recommend contacting our Technical Support. They have the resources needed to check your file and fix the update error.

Still verifying the file 13hrs so far - may take another 20 or so hours to verify and a couple of days to rebuild (6 core, I7 3.5Ghz, SSD system). If that doesn't work, then I'll have them call (last time they said to rebuild the file, but it still took half a day to rebuild, but the file was less than 400MB - now its slightly over 500MB, so rebuilding time must increase exponentially).
I have several Machines running Windows 10 version 1909 and have errors with Quick Books 2019 running correctly .Machines locking up periodically .
Quick Books Tech support keeps giving me the run around.
I think I have a solution now , downgrade windows 10 to version `1803 .then install Quick Books 2019 , turn off all windows updates .
Will not be upgrading any customers to 2019 if i can help it now.
Quick Books Tech support is not very helpful .
I having the issue of all my QB's closing after opening. CPA running multiple years on my computer. Followed the help on the QBCFMonitoringService. There appears to be no option to disable on startup. Need more help.
I appreciate you performing the troubleshooting steps shared by my colleague above, @Key Largo Bill.
Let's perform other troubleshooting steps to sort it out and get you back to working order.
Just to clarify, have you tried downloading and installing the QuickBooks Tools Hub? If not, I suggest doing it so. This way, we can check if its a company file issue related.
Here's how:
If it doesn't work, please feel free to read this article for more troubleshooting steps: QuickBooks Desktop doesn't start or won't open.
If the issue persists after performing all the troubleshooting, I highly recommend contacting our Technical Support Team. This way, they can further investigate this matter and create an investigation ticket if other users are experiencing the same.
Please let me know how it goes. I'll be around to help if you have any other concerns. Have a good one.
It begins to load... But once the program is loaded it crashes before it can open the saved qb file.
Our church also has a preschool that operates out of it.
I installed QB 2018 on a system that already had a different user that had QB 2016.
The installs are in different sub-folders.
(2018) Church
(2016) Preschool
I tried disabling the monitor service, as one comment suggested. and this did not work.
Hi treasurerlgfaith,
We do not recommend having two QuickBooks program on one computer. This setup may cause slowness and errors when running the programs. However, I won't recommend purchasing another computer right now. Instead, we'll do the steps in the articles shared in the previous replies. It seems like you already tried some of them.
If none of the articles resolve the performance issue, please have this checked with our Support. They can do a screen-sharing session to check your company file for investigation purposes.
You can contact our Support using JamesDuanT's answer above.
Keep in mind that we're always here to help you with QuickBooks. You can also find articles by going to Help and choosing QuickBooks Desktop Help.
Link to the refresher tool is broken.. :-\
Thank you. Whatever the issue was, Within the uninstall process, has a <repair install> option. This seemed to do the trick.
I'm having this issue now with Quickbooks 2020. I've troubleshot this on my own... here is what I have found:
1. I've uninstalled and re-installed QB - Same result
2. I've downgraded windows to the last known working version - Same result
3. After much frustration, I tried from another user account in Windows 10. All 3 of my company files work there with no problem.
4. Going back to the original user account, QB Crashes right away.
5. Using the QB sample file on original user account crashes as well. It's not the data file that is the problem. There is something with my user file.
6. Is there a new toolbar at the top? It almost seems like it's getting hung up trying to display the home page. But it works on the other user account.
7. I am running at 4K resolution... so I tried to lower resolution to 1920x1080. QB still crashes on original user account.
8. I tried early on the the Quickbooks Tool Hub - I ran Quick Fix my Program and the Program Diagnostic tool. Still crashes on open.
9. It only crashes when opening a company file. I can hold CTRL when the program launches and it will display the option screen to choose a file - but whichever file you choose - crash.
10. Attached is a screencap of the error code
Please help!
Thanks,
Greg
Hi there, @TVGreg.
I appreciate the details that you've shared in troubleshooting this hurdle. Since you've already done all these steps, I strongly recommend reaching our Technical Support Team.
From there, they can investigate this issue while performing screen sharing to help you find the cause and help fix this issue. From there, they can also create an investigation case when needed and update you later once they got a permanent resolution.
I've got a link to reach them quickly and please follow these steps:
Also, other Community fellows were able to share a fix by running QuickBooks with administrator privileges. To do this, find and right-click the QB icon on your desktop or Start menu, then select Run as administrator. Most of them got the same concerns as you.
Feel free to place a comment below if you need further assistance. I'm always ready to help. Stay safe and well!
Apparently Date formatting on your Computer is a possible issue?
I tried multiple installations of QB Desktop and couldn't even open a sample file without it crashing/closing with no error message.
I had my date formatted to DD-MM-YYYY
but nooooooo, QB NO LIKE dashes (-) only slashes (/)
So set your date to MM/DD/YY and try it again if you're just getting instant close on any company file.
