I have quickbooks desktop pro 2021 and today it I am getting an error code 3371 can't locate licensing or exe file.  I didn't delete anything but cannot access my quickbooks

After that, you may refer to the steps below to fix the error:

 

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Installation Issues.
  2. Select 3371 Error Fix.
  3. Hit OK.
  4. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

The error 1603 shows when there was a problem installing the Microsoft .NET Framework. To fix this, please follow the steps below.

 

To begin, please download the QuickBooks Tool Hub that fixes common issues in the program. 

 

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. We recommend you download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and save the file somewhere you can easily find it. 
  3. If you've already installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be displayed on the bottom right or you can select About to view the version.
  4. Open the Tool Hub and follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

 

Then, let's now use the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool.

 

  1. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. In the tool hub, select Installation Issues.
  3. Select QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. Let the tool run. It can take up to 20 minutes.
  4. When the tool finishes, restart your computer.

 

Open QuickBooks Desktop to check if this fixes the issue. If it doesn't, please refer to this article for more troubleshooting we can do: Fix Error 1603 when you install QuickBooks Desktop. And proceed to follow Solution 2.

Let's start accessing your account using a different or private browser. You can use either of these shortcut keys:

I have an iMac Desktop computer and currently have Quickbooks on it for our Rotary Club.  I see there is an update starting tomorrow (October 1, 2024).  I received a message indicating that Windows App general availability is coming soon.  I there anything I have to do for this update or is it automatically downloaded?

Just a quick note that the app on your Mac won't download automatically. To initiate the update, download the latest version. Once downloaded, open the file and follow the instructions. You can drag the app to your Applications folder for easy access. If you encounter any issues, uninstall the old version and reinstall the new one.

Beforehand, ensure that you have downloaded the installer for your QBDT version. Then, you can now remove and install QuickBooks Desktop again.

 

To remove QuickBooks Desktop, here's a quick guide on how:

 

  1. Open the Windows Start menu. Search for Control Panel, then open Control Panel.
  2. Select Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
  3. From the list of programs, select the version of QuickBooks Desktop you want to remove.
  4. Select Uninstall/ChangeRemove, and then Next.  
  5. If you don't see this option, sign out and back into Windows as an admin (or a user with admin rights).

 

To install QuickBooks Desktop again:

 

  1. Make sure you have an active internet connection.
  2. Open the file QuickBooks.exe.
  3. Select Custom and Network Options and then Next.
  4. Select
    • I’ll be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer to install on a workstation.
    • I’ll be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer AND I’ll be storing our company file here so it can be shared over our network to install QuickBooks on a server and host files on the same computer. Use this option to install on a Terminal Server.
    • I will NOT be using QuickBooks on this computer. I will be storing our company file here so it can be shared over our network to install only the QuickBooks Database Manager on a server to host files.
  5. Select Next to start the installation. 
  6. If you want to change the installation location, select Change the install location then Browse to decide where to put your QuickBooks folder. Most people put it in their Programs folder.
  7. When it finishes, select Open QuickBooks.

 

Once everything is good, you'll have to manually uninstall QuickBooks and rename the installation folders.
