hi
I dont see 2018 sept ending 941 form in list
Hello there, nshah59,
Did you file your 2018 941 forms through QuickBooks Desktop? Have you moved recently to a new version of QuickBooks?
If the form is not filed through QBDT, you can check with the IRS directly to ask for a copy. However, if you've moved to a newer version of QuickBooks, it's possible that the backup or company file that was restored does not include the previously saved tax forms.
If you still have a backup copy of the file prior to the upgrade, you can restore it. Then, go back to the Save Filings section and check if you can see the older tax forms.
Follow the steps in this article about restoring backup copies: Restore a backup of your company file.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I'm not finding any saved filings, although I know they were saved. I'm currently using QB Desktop Pro Plus 2022
Hi there, @dlpluckylady.
Let me help you locate your saved filings in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Here's how:
Moreover, you can check out our Year-End Guide for QuickBooks Desktop. This will provide you with some info on what you'll need to do when closing your books and preparing for the new one.
Keep me posted if you need anything else or if you have other questions in handling your tax forms in QuickBooks. I'll be here to help. Have a great weekend.
Well ReymondO, that procedure usually works, but not always.
What you are pointing to is merely a link to the actual file, which can be found at:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files\QB {your company file name}\{your company file name} Tax Form History
Anything older than about 10 quarters is deleted in its entirety automatically by QB, for some reason. That is why I keep a copy in a separate folder on my PC, as well as a hard copy.
Occasionally, a the file is not saved at all by QB. You need to check and see. If it is missing, then manually save another copy and go and place it in the folder that I notated above yourself. Then the Link to it will appear in the place that ReymondO described.
When I tried that, I get an error message: "When you subscribe to Assisted Payroll, we started filing forms for you.". I tried to view/print forms & W2's as it said and I get nothing. I need these forms from 2018-2020
Hi there, MrsCrawdaddy.
Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing details on how Assisted payroll works in QuickBooks. Then, ensure you'll be routed to the right support team to assist you further in managing your taxes.
The error message you're seeing indicates that you're using Assisted Payroll. With this, Intuit files and sends your payroll taxes and forms automatically to ensure your business processes taxes on time. That's the reason why viewing/printing forms in the system got nothing.
I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment which we're unable to do it here in the Community. Then, share with you the detailed information on how our support handles the tax forms and provide you a copy of tax forms or W2s.
Additionally, our support also can provide you the instructions on how you can have the permission or let you perform in paying and filing your taxes/forms.
Lastly, I'm adding the articles below to view steps on how you can keep your software up-to-date so you always have the latest features and fixes. Then, get the newest payroll tax table to stay compliant with paycheck calculations.
Keep me updated in the comments if you have any other questions about managing your tax forms. I'll be here to lend a hand.
