Accountant Center change

I reconcile my bank accounts each month in Quickbooks.  For some reason, on the Accountant Center screen, the "current balance" shown for my main checking account is incorrect (in the reconciliation section).  Do you know why?   How can I change it to be correct?

Accountant Center change

Hello @Cabinets1,

In QuickBooks Desktop, the current balance showing on your account is based on the transactions on your register. They may be from the list of transactions you've reviewed from the bank feeds or manually created entries for your business transaction.

Now to fix this, it is recommended to review and compare the list of your transaction in the register with what is showing on your statement of account provided by your bank. This way, you can identify the transactions causing the discrepancy of the current balance and delete them to fix it.

On top of that, I've also included this reference helpful for the steps needed in balancing your checkbook and regularly reviewing your accounts in QuickBooks: Use this guide anytime you need help doing or fixing a reconciliation.

Don't hesitate to post again here if you have other questions or concerns with QuickBooks tasks and navigations. I'm always around happy to help. Stay safe and have a good one!

Am having problems with Accountant Center since updating to QB 2022. The refresh button on the Accountant center does not work, and as requested earlier, does not reconcile with my bank account. My accounts are reconciled the Accountant Center is not working as it should. The only way I have found to make this work is to close the Accountant center and re-open. Hardly a very good QB feature to have to close it out to "refresh it". What;s up with the buggy 2022 updates version???

I confirm I am having the same issue in QuickBooks Accountant Desktop 2020 after installing recent application updates.

We would really like a fix for this issue as soon as possible.

This isn't the experience that we want you to have, @Kason Kellstrom.

I'd like to share some insights about the Accountant Center not working in QuickBooks Desktop.

Based on your scenario, I suggest using the Verify and Rebuild Utility Tools. This helps resolve possible errors on your company file. I can walk you through how:

To Verify data:

  1. Open the File menu and click on Utilities.
  2. Choose Verify Data, then hit OK to exit all windows.
  3. Once data is verified, you can rebuild your company file to fix any errors or data damage that's found.

To Rebuild data:

  1. Return to the File menu and choose Utilities.
  2. Click on Rebuild Data, then hit OK to exit all windows.

For future references, here's how you can manage reconciliation in QBDT:

It's my pleasure to be of help. Fill me in if you need extra guidance with this matter. Take care always!

We have attempted that already and the problem is still occurring. We have attempted many other troubleshooting options to resolve the issue with no resolution.

The issue started after recent updates so it is likely the issue was caused by the recent updates and will need to be resolved by releasing an update to correct the issue.

I am having the same issue with the accountant center not refreshing now. I am an accountant using multiple client files, and it's the same for all of them. It was so convenient to press "refresh" and have it update, but like a previous user, I have found I have to close it and then reopen it for the current balances to show, as well as the reconciled date.

The refresh link on the Accountant Center is still not working as of 7/7/22, we have received browsing support  b and many other QB tools and updates, etc.  When will a fix be available?? This is not an isolated problem as many other end users are having the same issue.

Thanks for bringing this up in the QuickBooks Community page, @brocchini.

Let me share another workaround you can use to address the issue.

Upon checking, I've found out that the error you're getting with might be specific to your window's user access or company file. This means the problem might be environmental which affect some of our users but not all.

As recommended by our engineers, you can isolate the issue by creating a new Windows user. Then, give it a similar administrator rights and try to refresh the Accountant Center link using this user access.

This will help us determine if the issue is specific to your user access or within the company file.

If you're still getting a similar result, run the Verify and Rebuild Data tools to trace its cause and fix it.

Please let me know how it goes by adding a reply down below. I want to make sure you're able to reconcile your accounts again. Have a good one.

Thanks ReymondO for responding, However:

Re: Refresh is still  not working  on the Accountant Center for about almost a month now.

We are a multi user environment, all end users in our environment are having the same problem.

We already Verified data and QB's didn't detect any errors.

We already tried the rebuild data as suggested by the Intuit support team and that didn't work either.

As mentioned, it appears according to the postings, you have other end users with the same refresh issue.

Please let us know what the next step would be to resolve this issue.

We have exhausted the Quickbook tools, hubs, rebuild verify, etc.

I have been unable to use the Accountant Center since I was required to purchase the PAP Premier Software Bundle.  It is very frustrating after 6 hours with 6 different agents trying to get the Accountant Center to work.  The last agent explained it is an IT issue and to contact my IT Department.  I am one person with a small bookkeeping office.  I don't have an IT Department.  I have verified and rebuild my data.  I have used every tool on the Tool Hub to try to get the accountant center to work as it has in the past.  I have updated QuickBooks, I have updated my computer and to no avail is my Accountant Center usable.

I agree this is not working for me as well across QBDTA 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Very frustrating. And I agree it started after a recent "update" that rendered it inoperable. Almost as if they were intentionally trying to eliminate a feature and functionality which many of us accountants used regularly. Please fix this bug in the update.

Thanks Kurt, We have all determined we are having the same issue that appears to have started after the recent update. We have attempted Intuit's recommendations and have let them remotely connect to attempt to resolve the issue without success.

We are still having this issue within the application.

If Intuit cannot resolve the issue that appears was created within this application after the recent update then I have no other solution I can offer my customer but to use different software for accounting purposes that functions properly.

I can feel the disappointment of not being able to use the Accountant Center, Kason Kellstrom.

But I'm here to help check what's causing the program not to get the Accountant Center feature to work. I've tried opening this feature using a sample file and it's working well.

I've attached a screenshot below as your visual guide.

You can try to open a sample file and if you're able to open the Accountant Center, make sure to run your QuickBooks as administrator.

If still not working on the real company file, I suggest getting back in touch with our QuickBooks Live Team. I know you've already contacted them, however, they need to gather the specific issue. For example, you can't open the Accountant Center, the Accountant Center is grayed out, or links from the Tools box won't open. That will help our Engineering Team can take action in the right place in the program.

You may also check out if there's an update on the version of your QuickBooks through this article: Learn how to keep your software up-to-date so you always have the latest features and fixes.

Get back to me on how the contact goes by commenting below. I'll keep this post while waiting for your response. Take care always!

Per your attached screen shot it looks like the Accountant Center is working.  But I do not see that you have been able to open any of the links.  Please show me the screen showing that you are able to reclassify transactions.  I can see my Accountant Center but that doesn't mean it is working properly.

Good evening, @DoingItRight

Thanks for reaching back out. I can provide you with some details about your links not working located on the Accountant Center.

After going to the Accountant Center and clicking on the reclassify transactions link in the sample file, I'm able to review that information.

Therefore, if you've tried this within a sample file and the link still isn't working, I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team again for further assistance. They have more advanced tools to look over your account to see why this is happening.

Keep us updated on how the call goes. It's my priority that you're able to get this resolved as soon as possible. Have a great day!

Hello,  I have ran my updates, loaded a sample company as directed.  My Accountant Center is not working on the sample.  I attached a screen shot showing the Accountant Center opens.  none of the links work.  I have spent 6 or more hours on customer service.  The result was that I needed to contact my IT department.  I am a one person, one CPU company, I don't have and IT department.  After reading comments from other users that are having the same issue I believe this is a Inuit QuickBooks programing issue.  The price has tripled this year and the program is not up to user standards.  Please contact your programmers and have them correct the Accountant Center!

Hello, DoingItRight.

This isn't the experience we want you to have. I'll share additional steps to resolve this since it works fine for me.

Let's run QuickBooks Desktop software repair since there might be some missing components causing the Accountant Center to stop working. I'll show you how.

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. Open the Windows Start menu, then click Control Panel.
  3. Select Programs and Features, then Uninstall a Program.
  4. Choose QuickBooks from the list of programs, then click Uninstall/Change.
  5. Select Continue, or Next.
  6. Click Repair, then Next.
  7. Once it's done, hit Finish.

You can also uninstall and reinstall QuickBooks Desktop to resolve some issues with company files. For a complete guide, see this article: Clean install QuickBooks Desktop.

If the problem persists, I recommend contacting QuickBooks Desktop Support again. They have the capability of submitting a ticket for further investigation.

Update to getting the Accountant Center to work properly.  Once I did the critical update on my last client for which I am using QuickBooks 2022, the Accountant Center worked!  My suggestion is to run the update on all your clients than check your Accountant Center.  This did not work for QuickBooks 2021.
