I am trying to add the QuickBooks Cash account on Transactions -- Banking menu. I get the error attached as a screenshot. How do I add this QB Cash account along with my Business Checking account so that it appears on the Banking tab as well as on the Chart of Accounts?
Thanks for coming back here, yujjainwala.
I did some research on my end and found that we have an on-going investigation about this error. Our engineers are working on fixing this as soon as possible.
While we don't have a workaround, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Support. They can add your company details, so you will be notified with any updates.
Here's how:
For the new QuickBooks Assistant help update, you can follow these steps:

I'm trying to do this and getting the same error above. I see this post is 5 months old saying they're looking for a resolution. Is nobody else having this problem?
What kind of engineer's are they?
I am having the same issue, my transactions > banking tab will not sync with the QuickBooks Cash account associated with my QuickBooks Online account, even though it prompts me to "Add Account" on the banking tab. It tells me "Something's not right. Try again."
I use QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Cash for another business which operates just fine. I contacted customer support and we eventually determined that it was not syncing because I had two QuickBooks Cash accounts. It would not let me sync my account on the second instance of QuickBooks Cash because my email address was already associated with another QB cash account.
If QuickBooks cannot resolve the issue to let me have multiple Quickbooks Cash accounts then I will need to close my second account and use a separate banking service, just so I can actually use the QuickBooks online automatic bookkeeping features it was designed for.
I am having this error in Feb-2022 after just opening my QBO Checking. If I can’t see the QBO checking on the banking tab, what’s the point of offering this a primary checking? Does anyone know if there’s a solution for this?
I appreciate you for joining the thread, @jai_capella. I'm here to share with you some additional information about QuickBooks Online (QBO) Checking account.
Once you've signed up for QuickBooks Payments, you can get a QuickBooks Checking account and a debit card where all of your customer payments get deposited. The account won't automatically show up on the Banking page, rather, you need to link the account manually from there.
Here's how:
You can also check out this article for an additional guide: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.
After that, you're now ready to connect a bank account to QuickBooks Checking wherein you can transfer money and out entries. I'm adding this link for more information: Use your QuickBooks Checking account. The same resource also gives you details on how to categorize your transactions from the Banking section.
If you have any other follow-up questions about the QuickBooks Checking account or QuickBooks Cash, let me know by adding a comment below. I'm always here to provide additional assistance. Have a great weekend!
I have the same problem. When trying to connect my quickbooks checking account, the error "
Hi chriskeyson,
I've seen a new ticket for the "Something's not quite right" error when connecting a QuickBooks account. We've already made our engineers aware of it, but they're unable to provide a turnaround time at this point.
I understand that downloading transactions is a helpful feature. I recommend contacting our QBO Support, so they can get your account information in a more secure environment and add it to the list of affected users for immediate updates. You can share this investigation number with them: INV-68006.
In the meantime, you can upload your transactions so you can still work on them.
Feel free to reach back out if you have other questions in mind.
I would not hold my breathe for a solution anytime soon. The original question was posted in March 2021 and here we are, a year later, with no resolution. I spent wasted hours on the phone with QBO support. They were not able to help, so I’ve just given up on it. Won’t be recommending this to any of my clients until their engineers do some engineering.
Ironically I tried to add it again today and it worked!
Same error. When I follow you instructions there is no "Linked Accounts" section.
Thanks for joining this thread, jsf1212.
I've reviewed our ongoing/solved investigations and can confirm there's currently one about this error. Intuit's Product Investigations team is working towards a solution for this message.
If you haven't yet, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team and referencing the investigation's case number (INV-68006). The agent you're working with will be able to pull up your account and the investigation in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and have your account added to its list of affected users. This will ensure you receive email notifications about any updates relating to the case.
They can be reached while signed in.
Here's how:
Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.
Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any questions. Have an awesome day!
