I've checked our records and haven't seen any cases the same as yours, Dasecurityaz. I'll help you resolve it.
The unexpected behavior can be caused by too much cache. Let's start with signing into your account through a private browser. It's the best place to know if it's a web issue. These are the shortcut keys:
If you're able to email the invoice, go back to your regular browser, then clear its cache to refresh the program. We advise our users to delete them now and then to prevent and fix issues like this.
Additionally, you can use a different browser to narrow down the issue.
Once it's fixed, you can email an invoice without any issues.

I also started having this issue the first of the year. I switched to a hotmail account for the ability to email invoices, but that was a quick fix. I have tried everything that has been recommended online and no help. Recently upgraded QB to 2021 and still having the same issue. I don't really understand how the "cache fix" works but I will try the recommendation and see if this helps
I attempted to try the cache resetting above. Went back into QB to send a test invoice to myself and I received the same message. I am still not understanding how (or why) I would do the cache if the invoice is being sent inside of QB.
Thanks for joining us here today, @ACKelectric.
I have some information about clearing the cache. The above troubleshooting steps are for QuickBooks Online. Since you're using QuickBooks Desktop, you'll want to toggle your email's Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) from 465 to 587. This step will help fix issues when sending invoices.
Let me guide you how.
You can check out this article for details: Connect your email to QuickBooks Desktop.
After changing the port, try sending a test invoice to your own email.
I'm also adding this link here in case you need help with other tasks in QBDT. It has topics with articles that'll guide you along the way.
Keep me posted if you still have questions or concerns with sending invoices. I'm always here to help. Take care and stay safe.
I am having the same issue. Tried all the recommendations here and online. I am using a business yahoo account, so I tried a personal yahoo account same problem. Added a gmail account & it worked just fine. I have used the yahoo business email(with app password) for years with no issues. This is very frustrating, I am paying for a business email that I now cannot use.
Hi MelissaLaw!
Thanks for joining this post. It seems that you're using QuickBooks Desktop. Allow me to help you.
First, make sure that your QuickBooks Desktop is a supported and updated version. As part of our discontinuation policy, eInvoice will be stopped if you're using older versions of QuickBooks Desktop.
You'll want to check the email settings in QuickBooks and make sure you're using the following settings:
Also, there's a setting on Yahoo that requires verification. You'll want to check your Yahoo account and proceed to the Yahoo Account Security page so you can review it from there.
If your Yahoo account is powered by third-party service providers, they have a different authentication process. For example, if it is powered by AT&T, you'll need to generate a secure mail key. Please check this link and proceed to the Yahoo! Mail section: Fix webmail password issues in QuickBooks Desktop.
I'd like to share an article that explains how to properly track customer transactions. Just click this link: Get started with customer transaction workflows in QuickBooks Desktop.
Need more help? Keep on posting here and we'll reply as soon as we can. Thanks!
I tried this and it didn't work! I'd type in 587 for the port number and it automatically changed to 25. Then an error message came up saying 'the server address field is empty. Please enter valid server address.'
Thanks for updating us about this QuickBooks email setup concern, @Caityp1233.

Sign into yahoo, go to security and other ways to sign in, type quickbooks and ask it to assign a one time password to sign in. Copy and paste to quickbooks where it asks for password when you hit send
This worked!!!!! Finally an answer to my frustration!! THANK YOU!
Going to yahoo secrity and getting a 3rd party password worked worked since January but now when I try to get a password in yahoo to use in quickbooks I get a message "this feature not available right now". Any help would be appreciated.
Having the same issue, I used to be able to use this feature as a band-aid but now even that isn't available.
Thanks for updating this post, @mars18 and @dford0419. I’ll provide some information about using yahoo when sending invoices.
I see how important it is to be able to email invoices to your customer. Let’s verify first if your QuickBooks Desktop is up to date and supported. If you're using a previous version of QuickBooks Desktop, the eInvoice is disabled as part of our discontinuance policy.
Let’s check the email settings in QuickBooks and ensure you're using the following settings:
Yahoo also has a setting that requires verification. You should check your Yahoo account and then go to the Yahoo Account Security page to review it.
If your third-party service providers power your Yahoo account, they use a different authentication process. For instance, if it's powered by AT&T, you'll need to create a secure mail key. You can go to the Yahoo! Mail part to fix webmail password issues in QuickBooks Desktop.
As a workaround, you can save your invoice as a PDF file and then attach it to your email. When creating an invoice, click the Save drop-down and choose Save As PDF.
If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Desktop Support Team for further investigation. Just make sure to reach out to us during the support hours so we can address your concerns timely.

I am having this exact same issue. I have several company files, they all use the same email address. However, ONE company file, gets this email error message described. All the other company files correctly send the invoice emails as they are supposed to. So tell me, why does 1 company file NOT work, and 6 others DO work? All set up the same, so no reason to give me instructions on how to set up email.
I want to ensure this is taken care of, @Chuck Chuck.
One of your company's files may be unable to send emails for several reasons:
To isolate this, let's ensure your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release. Once done, check the web mail's settings in the preferences.
Here's how:

The first post after OP says no one has ever complained about this before? BS. its been an issu since QB 2016. The only workaround is to use app passwords in yahoo security tab. Youll be changing that password about once a week. Whoever keeps spamming this comment feed with the correct settings for yahoo mail is wasting everyones time. QB needs to add 2-factor for yahoo thats all.
I was on the phone with support for 4 hours today only to have them tell me that it is a yahoo problem.. He stated that quickbooks and yahoo won't work together so I tried my Gmail and it went right thtough
I have the issue where none of my clients who have yahoo emails can receive invoices from me.
