Let your POS system and accounting software do the work for you.

Point of sale systems
A point of sale (POS) system refers to the hardware and software that manages sales transactions at the point of sale. In the past, these were mostly done by cash register, but today’s point of sale systems are shifting to computers and mobile devices. POS systems record sales transactions and many include services to process credit card and debit card transactions.

Connect your point of sale system
Connect QuickBooks with your POS system to eliminate manual data entry and save time. While a point of sale system records sales transactions, many small businesses must then manually enter that data into their accounting system. When you connect to QuickBooks, data from your POS system automatically syncs with QuickBooks each day so that your accounting system is updated for you.

Make a sale from anywhere
Mobile point of sales systems are on the rise, enabling small business owners to take a cash register with them wherever they go. Using your phone, you can record sales and take payments by entering credit card details into an app, or by using a mobile credit card reader. Many of these point of sale systems can connect with QuickBooks so that sales and payment data automatically syncs to your accounting system.

Sync your POS system
Though we have our own POS system called QuickBooks Point of Sale, we are proud that QuickBooks also integrates with over 50 popular point of sale systems. Data from your POS system like sales summaries, tender totals, sales tax, cash drawer activity, and more will automatically sync for you, moving back and forth between the POS system and QuickBooks.

Connect your point of sale system
It’s easy to integrate your POS system with QuickBooks. Once you log into your QuickBooks account, locate Apps in the left navigation. Search for your POS system and connect it to QuickBooks. If your point of sale system doesn’t appear, never fear. Choose one of the many ‘connector’ apps that were built to connect popular POS systems to QuickBooks.

Manage your sales data
Always know where your business stands by connecting your point of sale system with QuickBooks. Every dollar coming into and going out of your business will be accounted for, enabling you to run accurate reports for better decision making. In a glance, you can review sales reports, inventory management reports, sales of gift cards, sales trends, profitability reports, and more.

More than just point of sale integration. Run your entire business with QuickBooks.

Accept payments
If your POS software does not include payment processing, QuickBooks can manage it for you. You can enter credit card info directly into QuickBooks, or order a mobile card reader to swipe, dip or tap on your phone or tablet. Details from every sale appear in QuickBooks in real-time.

Sales tax
QuickBooks calculates sales tax for you based on where you are and what you sell. When you add sales tax to an invoice or sales transaction, the calculations and tracking are done automatically for you. We even keep track of the tax agencies’ payment due dates so that you can avoid penalties for late payments.

Track business expenses
Connect QuickBooks to your bank, credit cards, PayPal, Square, and other payment systems and we’ll import and categorize expenses for you. You can create rules for how you want expenses categorized and then run expense reports to see how every dollar is spent.
