As of January 22, 2018, Direct Connect for Wells Fargo is not working. When I go to the download page, it says I need to "upgrade to Direct Connect". It was working just fine on January 19. Also, when I try to log on, the page presented is all jacked-up with no clear place to enter my logon name and password.
I have multiple transactions per day, of which are ACH, EFT, and lockbox deposits. To enter these by hand is not feasiable.
Please fix the Wells Fargo issue!

Wells Fargo messed with their download options since last Friday 1/19/18, and it may be affecting your Direct Connect link. This might be a good work around until it's fixed:
I gave up on connecting to WF directly through QuickBooks several years ago, mainly because I download multiple accounts for different companies. Instead, I go to Wells Fargo in my internet browser and download transactions from there. They just changed my download options to Quicken only, but apparently if you change the .qfx to .qbo, it will work as a QuickBooks data file. Then, in QuickBooks, under "File->Utilities" you can import Web Connect files to your bank feed. Hope that helps!

After upgrading from QB 2017 to QB 2018 I immediately had an issue with the Bank Feed from Wells Fargo. I called Wells Fargo Online Services and they walked me through some sort of verification process. I was immediately up and running. They had me go to the website www.wellsfargo.com/fmssetup and then sign in and type in verification code and that did the trick.
Success! Even with Quicken 2016. I had been having problems since July 2018.
I "reset" my online account within Quicken 2016 and it prompted me for the security code. However, after entering it....NOTHING. The trick to all of this is to use the website link to enter your security code. Only then do you have 10minutes to perform the "reset" within Quicken. And just like that its working. I am having same problem. I always used the download and utilities import but my checking account doesn't show. I deactivated account, got code and reactivated. Program still doesn't find and when it has my try to login again it gives me same error and back to fmssetup, it is a total circle. Trying to use qbo it still cant find account and brings me back to WF login and fssetup

The steps you tried are the main solutions to fix the error, artamous.
Since you're still getting the same issue, I'd suggest giving us a call. We can perform thorough investigation as to why your checking account doesn't show when using Direct Connect.

I'm having the same issue with being able to import statements and I have Nov, Dec and Jan which I don't want to manually input like I did for Jul, Aug, Sep and Oct. Too much! Help please.

Since you're having issues when downloading the bank feeds, you can create a test account and set this up for online banking.
If you can download the transaction using the test account, let's go ahead and merge it to your original account.

You need to go to Wells Fargo FMS Setup. If you google "Wells Fargo FMS Setup", the first search result will be:

You will need to enter your user name as password and then hit "Sign On". It will then ask to send a 6 digit code to your mobile (or other) device which you will need to enter in the box provided. Once you do this, it shows a message that you have 10 minutes to complete the bank feeds setup within the Quickbooks program.

We had the same problem, but with Wells Fargo tech support we found that Wells Fargo thinks we are using an old browser (didn't say which one; our browser is supported and up to date). We checked to see that our Quickbooks was up to date (R13P) - it was.
Then we decided to DeActivate the Bank Feed, restart Quickbooks, then Setup New Bank Feeds.
Wells Fargo will ask for your UserID and PIN/Password (what they really mean is your Password, the same one you log in normally on a web browser into Wells Fargo). We were able to perform a Direct Connect successfully at that point. There are about 10 items that could affect connectivity (internet loss, old browser, different default browser, etc.) but re-setting up the Direct Connect from scratch worked for us. Windows 8.1
Today is 06/26/23 and it is still not fixed, but "there is a ticket in" to have it fixed. If this part of the software is not functional why are they selling it as one?
As of 06/26/2023, the same issue is occurring again!
So tired of Wells Fargo's technical issues. The problem is when you call they don't seem to be aware that Direct Connect not working. First I had to create a ticket reporting error code OLSU 1310 which is about the connection to Bank feeds, but since 06/03/2023, they have only fixed part of the issue. When trying to send payment online through QBooks the software gets stuck on 99% while processing the online data. Wells Fargo's customer's service has definitely gone downhill. No sure what to do anymore other than finding another bank that offers Direct connect through QBooks. Any ideas anyone?
