Wire payment Wire transfer

Hello there, I appreciate your immediate response. I'll guide you on how you can make a domestic wire transfer from your QuickBooks Checking account.

Your QuickBooks Checking account holds real money like any other bank account. To transfer money to and from it, you'll first have to connect an external bank account. You may need to set up an account you already linked for online banking a second time for QuickBooks Checking.

To connect a bank account to QuickBooks Checking, here's how:

  1. Go to Business overview, select Cash flow.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Checking.
  3. Select Transfer and then select to transfer money between your accounts. You're not going to transfer money yet. You just need to start the connection.
  4. Select Add a bank.
  5. Enter your bank's name and select your Account Type.
  6. Enter your account number and routing number.
  7. When you're ready to connect, select Next.

QuickBooks will send two small deposits to the account within the next 3 days. Once you see them in your account, come back to QuickBooks to verify the transactions. Go to the Business overview, select Cash flow, then select Verify bank.

Then, you're all set to transfer money in and out of your QuickBooks Checking account. To transfer money out of it, here's how:

  1. Go to Business overview, select Cash flow.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Checking.
  3. Select Transfer money and then Move money between your account.
  4. Enter the amount to move from your QuickBooks Checking account.
  5. In the From field, select your QuickBooks Checking account.
  6. In the To field, select the (+). Then choose your bank account.
  7. When you're ready, select Finalize transfer.

Once you're done, go ahead and review your QuickBooks Checking transfers. In the Cash flow menu, select the Recent activity section, and click View all. For the complete details, please see this article: Use your QuickBooks Checking account.

Also, to learn more about the Cash Flow menu including the QuickBooks Checking account, envelopes, and the Cash Flow planner, I'd recommend checking out this article: Learn more about QuickBooks Checking accounts and the Cash Flow menu.

Please don't hesitate to comment below if you have other banking concerns and questions about managing your QuickBooks Checking account in QBO. I'll gladly help. Take care, and I wish you continued success.

We are purchasing equipment from another equipment dealer like us. I need to wire $18,000.00 to his Wells Fargo Business Account. How can I do that from a bank that has no place of business?

Wire payment Wire transfer

Hi there, SoutheastEquip.

Right now, paying a dealer via wire transfer isn't available in QuickBooks Online (QBO). You can pay them by Bank Transfer (ACH transfers or eCheck).

You can set it up whenever you want by either entering the vendor's bank account manually or inviting the vendor.

Please know that this feature is only available to users with Online Bill Pay. If you wish to sign-up for Online Bill Pay, please visit the Online Bill Pay page.

To add the vendor's bank account, follow these steps.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click + New, then Pay Bills Online.
  3. Click the Bill Pay Online dashboard widget.
  4. Proceed to the Expense tab, then Pay Bills Online.
  5. To set up a vendor with open bills, select Set up Bank Transfers within the same line as the Payee.

To set up a vendor before there are open bills select Set up vendors for bank transfers. You'll need the account number for the vendor.

If you don't want to pay by Bank Transfer, you can go to your bank and manually wire the payment. Then, if your bank account is connected to online banking, QuickBooks will automatically download the latest transactions. All you need to do is categorize and match them to the existing entry in QuickBooks.

Stay in touch with me if there's anything else you need. I'll be around to answer your follow-up questions.

You're correct, @Rainbow8396

You can accept incoming wire transfers for free with QuickBooks Checking, yet only for domestic transfers. You're unable to send or accept international wire transfers. And yes, you are eligible to receive up to $200,000 per wire transaction.

Make sure of the following details when receiving the transfers:

  • First and last name OR Business name on your account
  • Routing and account number
  • Recipient bank's name and address
  • Bank Name: Green Dot Bank
  • Address: 1675 North Freedom Blvd, Provo, UT 84604

Here's how you can locate your routing number:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks account.
  2. Go to Banking services.
  3. Click on QuickBooks Checking and then hit Manage.

Welcome to the Community, @fakouryt.

I'd be glad to guide you on how to wire transfer in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

In QuickBooks desktop, we don't have a direct function to ACH or wire transfer. However, we can use Bill Pay to pay bills online from QBDT to help you manage your cash flow by giving you more flexibility. You can check this link to Pay Bills online from QBDT.

Once you have turned on the feature, you can pay bills directly from QuickBooks with your bank account, debit, or credit card, and choose how your vendors receive the payment by ACH or check.

As another option, you can set up direct deposit for independent contracts. You can check out this link to set up and manage direct deposit for your contractors.

To print a Bill Payment Stub, here's how:

  1. Go to File, and select Print Forms.
  2. Select Bill Payment Stubs.
  3. Select either Check or Credit Card, and click OK.
  4. Then, select Print.

For your reference, you can check these articles to know more about QB Bill Pay and check which bill pay add-on you have:

Feel free to come back here if you have further concerns about QB Bill Pay. I'll be willing to assist you.

I'm glad to assist you so you can enter the wire transfer accurately in QuickBooks Online (QBO), hhe4300.

If the wire transfer was a payment to an existing invoice, let's record a Bank deposit and enter the invoice payment transaction afterward.

Let's start by generating a Bank deposit affecting your Accounts Receivable (A/R) account. This way, the created data will be visible as a Credit that we can link to the invoice payment to record the transaction accordingly in the system.

  1. Go to the + New menu and choose Bank deposit.
  2. Choose the transfer location from the Account dropdown. Then, modify the Date you received the transfer.Bank deposit.PNG
  3. From the Add funds to this deposit section, choose the individual that initiated the transfer from the Received From column.
  4. Enter Accounts Receivable (A/R) in the Account field. You may also add a Description (optional).
  5. Select the + Add new option on the Payment Method dropdown and input "Wire Transfer". Once done, click Save.
  6. Input the transferred value in the Amount field.
    Paymentsssada.PNG
  7. Double-check everything. Then, once set, hit Save and close.

Next, let's record the invoice payment and select the recorded Bank deposit from the Credits section of the Receive payments page. Here's how:

  1. Go back to the + New menu and select Receive payment.
  2. Choose the Customer and modify the Payment Date.
  3. Select the Wire Transfer as the Payment method and pick the Account the amount was transferred to from the Deposit To dropdown.
  4. Tick the Checkbox for the Invoice that is associated with the transfer.Receive payment TICK the Invoice.PNG
  5. Scroll down to the Credits section and click the Deposit you've recently created.
    Receive payment - Credits section..PNG
  6. Once done, hit Save and close. After this, the invoice balance will be cleared and marked as Paid.

However, if the transfer is not associated with any invoice, kindly generate a regular Bank deposit and choose any sales account from the Account column of the Add funds to this deposit section.

Finally, I'll include this article for future reference if you need to manually enter your transactions so you can track and manage them in the system: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted if you have more queries regarding entering wire transfer transactions in QBO by replying to this thread. I'll be around and ready to assist you at any time.
