Thank you for the information. I had already updated QB and all the pages except the first one that goes to the IRS are aligned. That is the one I am trying to align into the boxes. I guess I will need to hand write it. I just thought the ALIGN button would work but it doesn't move anything at all.
I have the same problem. Not able to print 1099 form in the rea areas.
I did the updates, as you advised, and still not working. I mean not able to print 1099 in the red areas. Any suggestions?

I cannot print on the 3 part 1099 NEC forms. I went thru the update process as instructed. However, the "Critical Updates" line status has Error code #15240. I entered this online, as instructed, that was useless.
Any suggestions?
When you do that QB shuts down. I was having the same problem. There is a bug in QB
My QB shuts down when I go to printer setup and try to align.
This option does not work. For the amount of money I paid for my program I would think it would work. I get a message: install pending on three of the updates, Move Qbooks, file doctor and critical updates. I have restarted Qbooks 3 times as it said to and the status remains the same. Very Very disappointed in Qbooks.

Your suggestion did not help. As a matter of fact it has created even more problems. Now I can not map to the correct box on the 1099 form. It will not give me an option to chose from, it only allows it to go to box 15: State tax witheld. The arrow is gray not black and does not allow for drop down options. So now how do I remap it? I can't even get the totals so I can hand write my 1099s.
I can only imagine the hurdle you've been through in fixing the alignment issues when printing 1099-NEC, @Kristi27.

I can't align my 1099s in QuickBooks, I'm encountering a fatal error that shuts down QB when trying to print a sample 1099 after adjusting the page alignment. Upon reopening QB, the program has reverted back to the original miss-aligned 1099 setting.

I updated our Desktop QuickBooks this afternoon after it wouldn't produce our 1099s with three to a page. That issue was fixed with the update, but I still couldn't print due the 1099s due to the fatal error when trying to align the page. It appears to me another update needs to be released with a fix to this issue.

Thanks for trying @Mich_S. But that's not the problem. To fix it I have to go to each category in the chart of accounts and make an adjustment there. Tax line mapping was cleared of the set mapping I had before. Then I have to tell it where to go once I am ready to print my 1099, even after I corrected in the chart of accounts, it had the omit these payments from 1099 selected. I was headed to do another update when I noticed the status of the updates had an error code of #12007 on every update. I have also done the QB Tool Hub as suggested. And the 1099's still do not print correctly. The Top form is printing to low, the middle form is perfect but the bottom one is to high. I then proceed to try to align them but when I do QB shuts down. Seems as tho I have read everyone of these issues on many feeds in trying to resolve this issue to no avail.
When I press F2 it just adjusts my volume. Where am I suppose to be when I press F2??
Everytime I try this Quick Books Crashes
I'll make sure you're able to fix the error you've encountered while aligning 1099-NEC in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), Kristi27, and SylviaMc.
Fatal errors (uncoverable errors) are sometimes due to missing Windows or QuickBooks updates, damage to your data, computer issues, and program code that needs repairing.
Since you have the latest QuickBooks update, you can perform some recommended solutions to help fix the error.
To start, you'll have to identify how many users are affected. If you're the only user (Admin) who experienced the error, you can run the QuickBooks File Doctor from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Here's how to download and install the tool:
Once you're done, refer to this article to run QuickBooks File Doctor (Starting Step 2): Fix company file and network issues with QuickBooks File Doctor.
If the error still exists, I'd recommend performing the troubleshooting steps in this article (starting Solution 2): Unrecoverable Error: General Troubleshooting Steps.
On the other hand, you can open a product information window when pressing F2 on your keyboard. You can check this article to discover some keyboard shortcuts in QBDT.

The problem has not been fixed I spent 2 days with QB support , they don’t know what they are taking about , there is a big issue with their software , it has become a very disappointing company, all they do is keep raising their prices!!
