Merge duplicate team members in QuickBooks Time

Learn how to merge duplicate team members in QuickBooks Time imported from QuickBooks Online Payroll.

If the user, employee, or vendor's profile info such as first name, last name, and email address matches in both QuickBooks Online Payroll and QuickBooks Time, QuickBooks Time imports them as 1 team member. Otherwise, they'll be imported as 2 separate team members.

Note that QuickBooks Time will only export for team members with the employee or contractor QuickBooks role. To view their role, in QuickBooks Time, go to My Team, then check the QuickBooks Role column.

Merge duplicate team members

  1. Go to classic QuickBooks Time.
  2. Select My Team, then select Merge team members
  3. Select the first user profile that you want to merge.
    • In the second box, any eligible worker profiles will appear that can be merged with the first selected user.
  4. Select the duplicate user that you would like to merge.
  5. Select Merge.
